Although he had been frozen into a block of ice, Kubfu’s senses had not been sealed.

He saw a disc fly out from behind the silver-haired woman and land in front of him. It seemed to use Magnet Rise as it lifted the frozen Kubfu.

After placing him on the disc, a layer of transparent glass formed around it, protecting Kubfu inside.

"Beginning target retrieval."

Kubfu felt a strange sense of familiarity.

Could this silver-haired woman be Hunter J?

The light gun that froze Pokémon into blocks of ice and the light gun Hunter J used to turn Pokémon and humans into bronze statues should belong to the same series of technology.

Being captured by a hunter using this kind of advanced technology at least matched Kubfu’s status as a legendary Pokémon.

He only hoped the collector who bought Kubfu would not keep him frozen forever and would give him a chance to turn things around and escape.

Carried by the disc, Kubfu was placed into the boot of an off-road vehicle.

The ones driving were two burly men, probably the silver-haired woman’s subordinates.

One of them sighed with admiration.

"Boss really is amazing. We searched for a month and couldn’t find Kubfu, but Boss came on the first day and found it in less than two and a half hours."

"She captured Kubfu in only three to five moves."

A trace of pride rose in Kubfu’s heart.

So from the moment his simulation began, this group of hunters had already been searching the forest for traces of him.

Fortunately, he was cautious by nature and made a ghillie suit to hide himself.

That was how he had lasted a month and endured until the hunters’ boss appeared.

The other burly man driving smiled faintly.

"Look at who Boss is. Boss is a top hunter with a title in the Hunter organisation. With Boss taking action personally, capturing a mere Kubfu was only natural."

Kubfu sighed silently.

The silver-haired woman sounded even more like Hunter J now.

Without a protagonist like Ash stepping in to help, Kubfu would most likely be safely delivered to the buyer.

Since he had simulated Kubfu, this was most likely the Galar region.

What was the name of Galar’s protagonist again?

Forget it

Rather than hoping for a protagonist to save him, he should think of a way to save himself.

"I’m telling you, these rich people really are extravagant. Kubfu is such a rare Pokémon, yet they’re willing to send it to an underground arena."

Underground arena!

Kubfu immediately became alert.

He was not afraid of being sent to an underground arena.

He was afraid of being placed at home as a collection piece.

If he could organise a gladiator uprising, perhaps he might obtain his first S-rank evaluation.

The other burly man criticised him.

"What do you know? If the underground arena doesn’t use Kubfu, what should they use? Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan?"

"You pay a fortune to enter an underground arena just to watch Hitmonlee fight Hitmonchan?"

The burly man reacted.

"Big brother, you’re right. Kubfu really does have more appeal. They spent one hundred million to buy Kubfu, and the arena can hold over ten thousand people."

"The ticket money from just one match can earn back the cost of buying Kubfu."

Kubfu was shocked.

An arena that could hold over ten thousand people?

Where was there an underground arena like that?

He did not know how long the off-road vehicle drove.

By the time he came out of the boot, it was already night. Kubfu only saw a giant arena blazing with lights.

Whose underground arena was open-air and this huge?

Were the Officer Jennys not going to do anything?

The two burly men handed the disc containing Kubfu to a middle-aged man in a suit.

"The goods are yours. Please settle the remaining payment within the agreed time."

The suited man nodded slightly.

"Confirmed. It’s Kubfu. Don’t worry, the balance will be settled within a week."

The disc followed behind the suited man.

They took a staff passage and came to a row of cells. The man found an empty cell, entered the password, opened the bars, and placed Kubfu inside.

The suited man controlled the disc and released Kubfu from the frozen state.

A metal ring then flew down from the wall and firmly fastened around Kubfu’s neck.

Kubfu experimentally waved his fist and attacked the suited man.

The suited man stood in place without moving, fully displaying his elegance.

The ring released an intense electric current.

Kubfu’s vision went black, and he collapsed weakly to the ground.

The suited man walked out of the cell and said faintly, "Give up. This is the latest technology. No Pokémon can break free from it."

"The more you struggle, the stronger the electric current becomes. If you’re careless, you really will die."

Kubfu lay on the ground.

According to his personal experience just now, with this ring on, forget escaping. Even suicide would be difficult.

They had spent so much money to buy Kubfu.

How could they let him die?

Unless they scraped his bones and sucked out his marrow, squeezing every last bit of value from him, even death would be difficult for Kubfu.

As for freedom...

Perhaps he could only obtain it after death.

"Rest well tonight. Tomorrow will be the right time for your official debut."

After the suited man left, a voice came from the neighbouring cell.

"Pangoro."

Don’t waste your strength. That thing can’t be broken. Just accept your fate

Although we have to fight for our lives every night, as long as we don’t die, we receive treatment from the best medical staff

And the food they give us every day is the best

Aside from having no freedom, it’s actually better than life outside

Kubfu raised an eyebrow.

He remembered that when he passed by earlier, the Pokémon imprisoned next door was a Pangoro.

On the way here, he had also seen Lucario, Mienshao, Sirfetch’d, Hawlucha, and Annihilape.

Even Professor Rowan could not get an Annihilape for research.

Yet this underground arena had gathered one here to fight illegal matches.

Hmm

Perhaps I could ask the Annihilape here about Rage Fist

As long as he could learn how Rage Fist worked, after he got out, Julian would be able to teach it to his Primeape.

He had not expected an unexpected gain.

"Pangoro, do you know Annihilape?"

Pangoro asked curiously, "Who? Is there a Pokémon like that here?"

Kubfu raised an eyebrow.

"That grey-black Primeape."

Pangoro suddenly understood.

"Oh, him. I know him. A few days ago, we participated in a group battle together. His fists are very special."

"So he’s called Annihilape. What, you know him?"

Kubfu replied, "I don’t know him. I’ve only heard that Annihilape’s fists are special, and I want to understand what’s special about his fist technique."

"Then there’s probably no hope. That guy never talks."

Kubfu nodded.

It seemed he could only personally observe Annihilape using Rage Fist when he participated in a group battle.

Then he would pester him relentlessly.

As long as Annihilape revealed a few details, Julian was confident he could teach Primeape.

"Pangoro, what kind of Pokémon have you faced in the battles you participated in?"

Pangoro replied, "I never saw them in the wild before. According to those humans, they’re ancient rulers of the planet from hundreds of millions of years ago. Something called... this dragon, that dragon."

Combining Pangoro’s clues, Kubfu asked, "Were they called Tyrantrum and Aerodactyl?"

Pangoro became a little excited.

"Right, right! Those were the names. Didn’t expect a newcomer like you to know them."

Kubfu frowned slightly.

"Any other Pokémon?"

"Yes..."

Pangoro’s voice carried intense fear.
