Chapter 329: Chapter 329: No Matter How Funny It Is, I Won’t Laugh Out Loud
A/N:5/5 Bonus Chapters

Seeing Cynthia’s expression, Julian said helplessly, "If you really want to laugh, just laugh."
"Holding it in isn’t good for you."
She waved her hand.
"I’ve received professional training. No matter how funny something is, I won’t laugh out loud."
Her shoulders, however, were shaking silently.
Seeing Cynthia like this, Julian decided that he would only let Bewear out briefly during meals.
And absolutely, absolutely, absolutely not let her leave his sight.
Julian and Cynthia returned to the restaurant, where some tourists had already arrived to eat.
The waiters and chefs who had vanished completely when they first came in had somehow reappeared.
Julian handed Cynthia a menu and smiled.
"Cassia, see what you’d like."
She opened the menu.
"Let me see what the specialities are."
"Flower ice cream. We’ll have to get one of those. Sweet Summer... that’s a nice name for fruit mixed with Honey. Let’s try that too."
"And the cloud cake you recommended. I’ll have one of those as well."
Seeing Cynthia order a pile of desserts, Julian ordered a few proper dishes.
"That should be enough."
The first dish served was Sweet Summer.
It was simply several popular summer fruits cut into pieces and mixed with Combee Honey.
The dish relied entirely on the quality of the ingredients and had almost no technical difficulty.
After tasting it, Cynthia’s eyes brightened.
"Chilling the fruit before mixing it with Sweet Honey actually gives it such a refreshing sweetness."
"And these slightly sour fruits are balanced perfectly. They stop the Honey from making the whole dish too rich."
Cynthia picked up a bayberry and held it to Julian’s mouth.
"You try some too."
Julian bit into the bayberry.
It was clearly a fruit with a sour edge, but under the Honey and some unknown quality, all Julian tasted was sweetness.
"I’ve eaten this fruit salad many times. You should have more."
Cynthia smiled and said, "No wonder it tasted a little familiar. So it’s your cooking style."
"Don’t tell me the cloud cake recipe is yours too?"
Julian shook his head.
"No, that one is the chef’s speciality."
Cynthia picked up another piece of watermelon.
"Eat another piece. If I finish such a big fruit salad by myself, I’ll gain weight. You have to help me share more of it."
Julian smiled.
"Alright."
And so, piece by piece, as their gazes shifted between each other, the rest of the fruit ended up in Julian’s stomach.
The main dishes came next.
Since they each had their own portion, they could no longer feed each other like that.
After lunch, Julian went out to feed his Pokémon.
Miraidon, Bewear, and Combusken each received an extra portion of honey milk.
Miraidon’s was payment for working hard as a mount for most of the day.
Bewear’s was a racial benefit.
As for Combusken...
His training was so difficult now that Julian had to give him something sweet.
Julian crouched in front of Bewear and watched her eat.
Bewear really could not endure Julian’s gaze, so she turned around with her bowl and milk.
Had she not only eaten half a month’s worth of Honey for fifty Combee?
Was there any need to stare at her like that?
Was she that kind of bear?
But when she smelled the faint scent of Combee Honey drifting through the flowers, she began to feel a little restless.
She took a sip of honey milk, but could not help licking her right paw.
That day, she had used this paw to eat all that Honey.
Now, even when she licked her paw, she could almost still taste that sweetness.
But Julian did not give her any chance.
Once she finished eating, he immediately returned Bewear to her Poké Ball to rest.
Only Miraidon was left outside, following behind the two of them.
Cynthia wore a white straw hat and a white dress. As the breeze blew past, her skirt swayed gently.
She spread her arms.
"Julian, this place really is comfortable."
He couldn’t help smiling.
Cynthia adjusted her straw hat.
"Let’s walk through the sea of flowers. Earlier, when we were riding Miraidon, we only glanced over everything. I didn’t get to properly look at the flowers."
Julian nodded.
"Clyde said Shaymin might appear recently. I wonder if we’re lucky enough to meet it."
Cynthia raised an eyebrow.
"Shaymin, the Gratitude Pokémon. There’s a legend that those who receive Shaymin’s blessing will be blessed with good fortune."
"And meet the person who will stay beside them for life."
Julian blinked.
Was there such a legend about Shaymin?
Why had he never heard of it?
But Julian did not refute her. He only looked at the sea of flowers and said calmly, "Then we’ll have to see whether we have that kind of fate."
As they walked, Julian introduced the flowers along the way to Cynthia.
After following Clyde around these past few days, Julian had basically memorised the characteristics of the flowers in the nursery.
When they reached the centre of the nursery, Julian pointed at a red flower.
"This is the Gracidea flower, the rare flower that allows Shaymin to change form."
The flowers planted here were not for commercial use, so visitors could find suitable open patches to picnic and camp in this area.
Julian asked, "Do you want to find a place to rest for a while?"
Cynthia nodded.
"Sure. Picnicking in a sea of flowers sounds wonderful."
He found a patch of grass and spread a picnic blanket on the ground.
Then he took out a watermelon, cut it open, and handed Cynthia a slice.
"Here. Watermelon."
Cynthia shook her head.
"Julian, you really do prepare thoroughly wherever you go."
Julian also took a slice.
"A breeze, the scent of flowers, watermelon, and you sitting beside me... this is the kind of feeling someone could remember for a lifetime."
Julian took a bite of watermelon and looked at the flowers in front of them, while his hand quietly moved towards Cynthia’s hand on the picnic blanket.
A rustling sound came from nearby.
Cynthia turned her head.
"Did you hear something?"
Julian quickly withdrew his hand.
"No. Wasn’t it just the wind?"
He pretended to stay calm and took another bite of watermelon.
"The watermelon is very sweet."
Cynthia took a bite too, her eyes curving.
"It really is delicious."
Neither of them spoke after that. They simply sat there eating watermelon, the atmosphere between them quietly turning ambiguous.
But the space between them was unknowingly shrinking.
Just as their shoulders were about to touch...
Julian heard a metallic clink.
It was the sound of one of the canned drinks he had taken out being knocked into the metal plate holding the watermelon.
He immediately turned his head.
A Shaymin was sitting there with red watermelon juice all over her face, and two completely clean watermelon rinds in front of her.
It seemed this Shaymin had wanted a third slice, but had accidentally knocked over the drink.
Seeing Julian look back, Shaymin calmly looked back at him.
"What are you looking at me for? Is it not allowed for me to borrow your spot and rest for a while?"
Cynthia also turned around.
"Then who ate those two slices of watermelon?"
Shaymin said seriously, "I only just arrived. How would I know who ate your watermelon?"
Cynthia looked at the red juice on Shaymin’s face and could not help smiling.
"You really don’t know?"
