[Parasitic Fire Dragon Level 70]

[???]

Blaze missed his [Hunter] Profession dearly. If he still had that Profession, he would be able to determine this Fire Dragon’s Skills.

The Fire Dragon exhaled a foul, yellow smoke. It slowly reached down from the darkness, twitching its snout as it sniffed out Blaze’s scent.

At this moment, Blaze was hiding behind a stone pillar, observing the Fire Dragon’s every move. After the dragon’s body stiffened and it was forced to recoil, he confirmed the movement range of its main body.

Blaze gripped the Twisted Greatsword tightly and silently slipped into the shadows.

This massive, pitch-black karst cave, completely devoid of light, was virtually a playground for [Black Shadow Stealth].

The only thing to be careful of was losing track of which side was the normal world.

CLANG—

The Sparks that erupted from the clash between the Twisted Greatsword and the Dragon Scales bloomed with a blinding light in the darkness. In an instant, the Fire Dragon whipped around and spewed Flames at the source of the attack.

Blaze sprinted close to the ground, swinging the Twisted Greatsword in futile strikes against the Dragon Scales to bait the Fire Dragon into scorching its own body.

The Fire Dragon did not fear its own Flames in the slightest, but its scales were a different story. They turned glowing red in the fire, the center of each scale burning bright.

That was the weak point indicator.

Seizing the opportunity, Blaze thrust the Twisted Greatsword right at the glowing center of a scale. The sharp body of the Sword pierced through effortlessly, striking the Fire Dragon’s flesh.

ROAAAR—

Wounded, the Fire Dragon roared in utter humiliation and Anger. It thrashed its long, serpentine body, slamming the ground and the surrounding stone pillars in a desperate attempt to crush this audacious trespasser.

Stone pillars were shattered one after another. Amidst the scattered debris, a streak of silver light bounded between the falling rocks.

It was Blaze in his Werewolf form.

In a mere instant, Blaze arrived at the Fire Dragon’s head and hurled the Twisted Greatsword with all his might straight at its eye.

CRACK—

The Twisted Greatsword stopped right in front of the Fire Dragon’s eyeball, blocked by an incredibly tough and thick transparent membrane.

The nictitating membrane—the majestic Dragon Species naturally retained such a Defense function.

With Blaze’s Strength Value, even transformed into a Silver Werewolf, he lacked the strength for Piercing the nictitating membrane of a Level 70 Fire Dragon.

But the other entity present could.

[Filthy Wolf Shadow Level 100]

The Black Wolfman, acting as a shadow, clung to the Fire Dragon and moved at blinding speeds. Upon reaching the Fire Dragon’s Head, it shifted from two-dimensional to three-dimensional. It grabbed the Twisted Greatsword and thrust it forward with tremendous force.

SKREEECH—

The Fire Dragon let out a shrill, agonizing shriek. Its snake-like body convulsed, kicking up a tidal wave of dust.

Blaze landed on the ground and sprinted simultaneously with the Black Wolfman. Before the red-hot scales of the Fire Dragon could cool, they struck the glowing center of every single one.

For the Fire Dragon, it felt as though it were being tortured on a bed of nails.

Finally, the Fire Dragon fell into complete Anger. Points of Flame condensed around its body before shooting out, transforming into several pillars of fire that swept outward, revolving around its serpentine form.

It was Magic.

Blaze used the stone pillars to dodge the fiery onslaught. If these were the Flames naturally spewed by the Fire Dragon’s main body, the pillar would probably melt within seconds, but Flames created by Magic couldn’t achieve that.

"How nice. I want Magic too," Blaze muttered.

He peeked out from behind the stone pillar, unable to help but feel a little envious as he watched the dazzling spectacle. His Intelligence, especially after transforming into the Silver Werewolf, was high enough to learn Magic.

But unfortunately, learning Magic required the use of expensive Magic Books, as well as spending Skill Points.

Skill Points were Blaze’s lifeblood; he would absolutely refuse to touch them unless absolutely necessary.

Because of this, the only way he could learn Magic was to have someone else with the Mage Class impart it to him at the cost of lowering their own Skill Level.

"Should I ask the Foreigners from the Fairy Kingdom? Ah, I’ve asked them for too many favors lately; this might be pushing it," Blaze grumbled as he found the right moment and dashed out. Bending low to dodge a pillar of fire, he raised the Twisted Greatsword and plunged it into the flames, turning the raging Flames into fuel to empower the Eight Fire Curse Poison.

The Eight Fire Curse Poison, which had merely been wreathing the Twisted Greatsword, instantly swelled. It writhed as if the Eight-headed Snake God had undergone resurrection, biting into the Fire Dragon and injecting its Highly Poisonous Flames.

Blaze carefully observed the Fire Dragon. Its movements could not escape his eyes, and he flawlessly evaded every attack.

The Black Wolfman made a Silent sprint through the darkness, tearing open the Fire Dragon’s body with casual swipes.

The opponent was a noble Dragon Species, but it was only Level 70.

Though it might sound like he was boasting, Blaze could confidently swear that an enemy of this caliber was no match for his [Filthy Wolf Shadow].

If he were fighting it alone, it would probably take quite a bit of grinding down before he could win.

The Fire Dragon let out a final wail and crashed to the ground with a thunderous boom.

"As expected of a Dragon. The Experience Value it gave was enough to max out [Fighting Master]." Blaze nodded in satisfaction. He didn’t use [Soul Capture] to completely absorb the Fire Dragon’s soul, as that would be too much of a waste. "Come on, let’s see what materials you have on you."

Dragons were a rather special type of Monster because they were Undying creatures.

Although their souls would vanish, a new soul would eventually be born from the remains and restore their physical body.

Therefore, their bodies wouldn’t turn to dust and drop materials; one had to carve them open and harvest the parts manually.

Blaze certainly didn’t have the capability to butcher this Fire Dragon himself, so he left the task to the Black Wolfman.

The Black Wolfman said nothing, nor did it listen to what Blaze specifically wanted. It simply gutted the Fire Dragon on the spot and started rummaging for materials on its own.

Blaze shrugged, his gaze following the length of the Fire Dragon’s body toward the darkness above.

"This Fire Dragon should be a Dragon Bone Fossil buried underground. It hasn’t been reborn for long; it’s still in an embryonic state."

"Embryonic?" Blaze looked in confusion at the chicken on his shoulder.

"The so-called Parasitic Fire Dragon gets its name because the noble flesh of the Dragon Species can integrate with any substance, whether living or inanimate," the chicken explained.

"Take the scales on this Fire Dragon, for instance. When the rocks in this karst cave came into contact with the dragon’s flesh, they naturally embedded themselves into its body. Over countless years of friction and polishing, they took on the appearance of scales.

"An embryonic state simply means it hasn’t fully assimilated the parasitic attachments into becoming a true part of its own body. Those things you dealt a Piercing blow to just now were at best Dragon Scale-shaped rocks. If they had been genuine Dragon Scales, they would have reflected its own fiery breath right back at you."

Blaze imagined the scene for a moment. It could only be described as terrifying.

"Submitting to a greater being is the instinct of all existence," the chicken sighed. By this time, the Black Wolfman had returned, bringing back a bloody organ.

[Fire Dragon’s Immature Explosive Flame Bag]

"Is this it?" Blaze accepted the material, looking left and right, but didn’t see the Black Wolfman pull out anything else. "Such a huge Dragon, and you only got..."

Suddenly, a profound wave of terror struck from the depths of Blaze’s heart. From the pitch-black space above, the slithering, frictional sounds of countless intertwining snakes echoed out.

He looked up, and his eyes instantly burned with excruciating pain.

There were tens of thousands of members of the Dragon Race of varying shapes up there. They squeezed against one another, forcefully squishing their own living bodies into serpentine shapes—just like how the rocks had morphed into the shape of scales.

If their limbs couldn’t degenerate in time, they would be bitten off by neighboring Dragons. Wings were unnecessary, so they were torn off as well. They wove together, resembling a massive, tangled clump of hair looming in the darkness above.

When those of the Dragon Race were awakened by Blaze, writhing unconsciously as light spilled from their jaws, Blaze’s heart stopped beating.

Beneath the squirming canopy of the Dragon Race was a massive, Lion-like face.

It was a primal fear of colossal beings—one that stemmed from the very bottom of Life, impossible to describe with any words.
