Chapter 1301: Chapter 422: I Want to Be Cuba’s Biggest Clickbait Dog_2
"It’s over! Two-faced Sukuna is about to be resurrected, hurry and get Itachi Idaki!"
"Laosuo, I miss you. You know, after that jujutsu finished, there are no more geniuses like JJXX, do you know? Ahahaha."
The players’ commotion made the person in the wheelchair laugh and cry.
"What’s so funny, where’s the medic? Quick, check my head!"
"On my way, on my way."
The medic player slowly removed the thumbtacks from the wheelchair’s head, applied a layer of medical gel, and wrapped it with a bandage, and that was it.
There’s no more to it, where can you find steel pins now? Just make do with it for the time being and wait until things settle down.
The players stared at a ground full of corpses and fell into thought regarding the unconscious Cuban deserters.
The person in the wheelchair asked,
"What do we do now? Just finish them all off?"
After reporting the situation, Shui Yue said a while later,
"Here’s the thing, the Wildman folks suggest having a few people take these brains and retreat, while others continue to infiltrate forward, but you... you blend in with these deserters, mix into the Cuban army, and gather intelligence for us."
"What?"
Like a thunderbolt, the wheelchair was shocked. He thought he could at least get medical leave, but now he has to work despite being injured.
"The command center must have gone dumb, who the hell wants to mix with these idiots? If you ask me, just finish them all off."
He ran his finger across his neck, mimicking a silencing gesture.
"This is a special mission, with its own rewards. Do it well, and you can get at least one new Ye family Power Armor, and no upper limit."
"I’m not trying to boast, but I think there’s no one more suitable for this than me. What does it matter if I’m injured, as long as I can return wrapped in horse skin."
Upon hearing the mission reward, the wheelchair didn’t say a word more and confidently patted his chest.
"Leave it to me."
A change of face faster than flipping a book.
Shui Yue immediately directed the other players,
"Everyone else, clean up here and prepare to leave. Just leave the bodies here."
Shui Yue paused and then realized,
"Oh right, leave a truck full of brains here."
"Huh? Why?"
The others were puzzled, and Shui Yue explained,
"Otherwise, how can we explain the wheelchair’s head injury? Also, it’s best to explain this to these deserters, spread what the Europeans did, and stir relations between the two sides."
The crowd marveled,
"Whoa, you’re even tougher."
————
Sterling’s last memory was of devouring those cans of salty meat, feeling wonderfully euphoric, his muscles relaxing, and all the exhaustion from a night of escape vanished without a trace.
He knew this feeling all too well; this is what it felt like after taking sedative-based drugs.
But regardless of the reason, he had no strength to resist. Human willpower cannot counteract biochemical drugs, and he could only drift into a deep sleep in this pleasant sensation, akin to being surrounded by clouds.
It’s unclear how much time passed before he groggily woke up.
He opened his eyes and looked around blankly, seeing his fellow deserters lying haphazardly on the ground, with traces of battle everywhere, armored vehicles shot into Swiss cheese, European corpses everywhere, blood flooding the ground.
Sterling shivered with fear, the remaining effects of the drugs vanished, and he hurriedly scrambled up from the ground.
"What the hell happened?!"
Then he started shaking his still-sleeping deserter mates fiercely.
"Get up, everyone get up! There are dead people!"
"What else could’ve happened?"
The wheelchair wobbled out of the truck left behind by the players.
"Those lunatics came and killed all the Europeans."
"Huh?"
The awakening deserters were terrified, Sterling felt himself over, found no bullet holes, and breathed a sigh of relief for surviving.
Someone scrambled up from the ground,
"Why didn’t they kill us? Why did we faint? And how do you know this?"
"Do you know how you passed out?"
The wheelchair picked up an unfinished can and tossed it in front of them.
"Those Europeans put sedatives in the cans, tricked you into eating them. I’m the only one who didn’t fall for it."
"What?!"
The deserters were shocked.
"But why?"
"Of course, they wanted your lives."
The wheelchair, feigning fright, pointed at the truck behind him,
"They took me inside that truck, the doctor cut open my brain with a scalpel, talking about wanting to sell our brains for money."
The wheelchair removed the bandage to show everyone the unmistakable wound.
"Hiss——"
The crowd shivered in fear, instinctively feeling their own foreheads.
Sterling quickly inquired,
"Then... how did you survive?"
"At that moment, I thought I was done for, but then those Horizon Mercenaries came and went crazy on those Europeans, killing them until they fled in their vehicles, leaving behind the truck because they didn’t finish the surgery."
"Those Horizon Mercenaries chased the Europeans away; no one paid attention to us washed-up folks."
The deserters looked at each other, unsure whether to believe the wheelchair’s words.
"Is that really true?"
The wheelchair pointed behind him,
"Go see for yourselves, a whole truck load of brains. If I’m right, they should be from those injured soldiers who were sent for European treatment in the past."
One of the deserters spoke up immediately,
"I’ve heard about this, Hand told me a few days ago, anyone who went on the European operating table never came back alive. When their unit went to retrieve bodies, the Europeans outright refused, directly cremated them."
More people remembered,
"Yes, yes, our unit had a few who were taken in recently, all fell to severe injuries, but Ademoss just had a broken leg and still lost his life."
