Planet Vs Aliens: Space User Saves the World
Chapter 167: Unexpected Gains
Naia had absorbed these crystals countless of times in her past life, so absorbing this little thing was like taking a sip of juice.
Immediately, she felt her body injected with renewed energy, the various ‘wires’ in her mind finally connected, and she could finally access the abilities she had known to use.
Not to mention, there was quite a bit of change in her space.
When she awakened, every plant inside the space became much more vibrant. Even those young fruit trees that shouldn’t be fruiting any time soon suddenly started to flower.
She raised her hands, her mind’s eye seeing the compressed energy wrapped around her hand. She realized the energy signature was the same as the energy in her space.
Now, it was time to do what she did best: Enhancing weapons.
She turned her attention to her family. Regardless of whether or not they were staying near the meteorite or by the car, with the alien being an actual threat this early, they ought to have their own weapons now.
They knew what was going to happen, so they naturally prepared a lot of weapons and defense equipment.
She did not, however, expect that they’d be using them on the first day.
And directly on aliens, which was years in advance.
This also meant their original selection was insufficient.
She and Kael collected a large variety of cold weapons, many of which were antiques created by artisans, maintained well by various collectors. She also asked the family what weapon they’d prefer to have; though actually finding the right weapon might happen later, it was fine to explore while getting a hang of things first.
For now, Hans would use his beloved schmitar. He had been wanting to use two, but for now he could barely use one, so that’s what he’s getting.
Linlin was a good shot and would get a bow and arrow. After more training, she’d get a gun. Uncle would get an axe, something he used often, especially when gathering firewood.
Speaking of this, she took out Glen and Gale as well. These two were young and needed to train more. Since they encountered aliens early, they might as well get exposed well.
After trying out a few weapons in their makeshift armory in space, Glen chose a spear, and Gale a whip.
After this, she laid out all the weapons in front of her. She then coated all of them with her powers. This would enhance their penetrative effects against the aliens, and this effect should be able to last a few hours.
They also wore the comfortable defense equipment made by Genius’s team before. Everyone had a copy of it. It was like a long-sleeved turtleneck shirt, and nearly as comfortable. It also had insulating properties and would be great to use in winter.
This was an exclusive technology Kael’s side provided. It was apparently related to some patent he inherited.
She looked at the carcass, thinking she shouldn’t leave it here. Further, she was sure the scientists—whether the ones in her team or the government’s—would love to have samples of this.
In the end, she absorbed it into her space.
Unexpectedly, it absorbed it instead! The kind that suddenly looked like it was melting into the ground.
Her eyebrows rose, and she observed the changes in her space, soon confirming it was a good thing. The carcass was like sustenance to her space, adding a bit of energy into it.
This was a familiar energy, likely the life force they gathered from whatever poor planet they just took over before hers.
One carcass didn’t have the effect of an actual core though, but it was fine. In the future, she could treat the space as the alien waste disposal.
Taking note of this, she looked at the rest of the family, who were now trying out their weapons. She let them practice for about ten minutes more so they could get used to the weight and movements.
“If we encounter aliens, be sure to kill them yourselves,” she said. “Grab the cores to make sure they wouldn’t get up again.”
“Remember, when they’re out there, killing them would leak some of the life force they had stolen. This life force had already been purified, easily absorbable, and could increase your body’s acceptance of this life energy.”
“It’s one of the ways to prevent turning into a monster when you absorb a core.”
“Think of it as Experience Points in your games. Trying to get a power up when your own body can’t handle the energy yet is counterproductive.”
Since they were dealing with aliens directly, handling a few should be able to modify their bodies enough so they could safely absorb a crystal for a potential awakening.
The group nodded. They had read the book, so they had an idea on how things worked.
Hans was even vaguely excited. But then he remembered the battle that just happened, how his future brother-in-law got stabbed, and he suddenly shuddered in fear.
Naia saw this and patted the kid’s shoulder. “Don’t worry, we’ll train you so you’re ready when they really wake up. Take advantage of their slumbering and weakened states while you can.”
“…”
They all turned to the large rock and the hole there.
They considered doing absorb-and-wait for the monster to head out like what she did at first, but it was a bit risky. What if multiple came out at the same time? Even dealing with one could injure them at their current state, and it was very likely someone could lose their lives.
Hence, they decided to pry the area where the monster came out from, just in case there was an alternative.
She summoned every able-bodied person to help out, including Dock, Genius, Errol, and Liya.
She then pointed at the rock and the crack.
“See that? There are aliens inside,” she said, making the newcomers pale.
Naia looked at them and gave a mysterious smile. “We’re going to hunt them all.”
