Planet Vs Aliens: Space User Saves the World
Chapter 164: Checking the Rock
Neither of them knew what it would do, but it was space rock and likely had precious metals in it. With the size of it, even if the useful materials comrpised only a fraction of such a big rock, then it would still be a profit.
Without further ado, they drove down to the meteor to get a closer look. Because of the force of impact and the wave of energy, a lot of the area had been flattened and blown away, ironically making the trip to the giant rock easier.
They stopped the car just beyond the crater it created so Kael and Naia had to go on foot.
As for the rest, they waited beside the car. They were warned that since it was a big item, there could be some energy emission that could be dangerous for people like them.
At the very least, Naia and Kael had some abilities and wouldn’t get hurt so easily.
The two walked forward, aiming to get as close as possible. It was too big and heavy that she needed to actually touch it before she could put it in.
It was a bit warm at the bottom, like touching charcoal, but it wasn’t anything she couldn’t handle.
As she touched it and placed it in her space, she heard a zing in her head. Unlike other items that would get absorbed inside in their entirety, it was more like he was absorbing this meteorite bit by bit.
Even if it should technically fit in her large space, it wasn’t able to absorb the big thing, which meant that there was a large amount of energy inside.
Further, the absorbed energy was the kind that automatically converted into essence, so none of the meteorite’s mass actually reached her space before it was absorbed completely.
The gains wouldn’t be small; she knew this now.
Kael continued to go around it to study, even taking out an XRF machine to double-check its composition.
Naia had no mind to notice this. She was so immersed in the absorption process, feeling very comfortable. Her mind was completely concentrated, and it was to the point that she did not notice a peculiar crack appearing at the side, right in front of her, like an egg hatching.
Crack…crack!
Inside it, sharp chitin-like legs emerged, aiming right at her.
“Watch out!” Kael went over when he heard some cracking sounds. He immediately rushed to her as he yelled out. However, she was too close, and he noticed it too late.
All he could do was teleport right next to her to pull her back. It was just that the momentum and the insect’s instinct to go after its targets made it shift direction, managing to stab Karl deeply in the shoulder.
Stab!
Cough!
“Kael!” Naia exclaimed, shocked, realizing what had happened. The others in the car also flinched, about to rush over.
“Brother!”
“Older brother Kael!”
“DON’T COME CLOSER!” He yelled at the others while holding on to the sharp thing that went through his shoulder. “Get into the car!”
He then looked at Naia, with a solemn expression on his face. “We have to handle this first.”
Naia nodded. She had already taken her weapons, but this time she wrapped them around the extended leg and went to another point to pull it back.
The cut was really deep. Unfortunately, even when his physique had slightly improved, it wasn’t much until he officially awakened in this world. His body was just a little better than the normal man, and it was still easy to cut by the weakest alien.
Even the weakest alien could swipe an ordinary person into two.
Naia’s eyes reddened as she saw the blood, her eyes sharpening as she kept pulling the alien’s sharp leg. She then looked as another sharp chitin wiggled on the small crack, trying to widen it.
These were insectoids, no doubt about it.
This was a miscalculation. They genuinely thought they were just dealing with rocks.
They always had an impression that those aliens would just be in those big meteors, as per the records. This reminded them that there were many details and actual events that were lost, misinterpreted, or forgotten.
Not to mention, things happened earlier than they should! They didn’t accidentally unleash aliens on the world, did they?!
Kael raised his arm and slashed down the overreaching leg with a unique method, immediately cutting it down. He knew the weak spots of this type of alien, so even if his strength was lacking compared to them, he was able to detach it after a few repeated slashes.
The movement looked very handsome, and Naia found herself staring a bit.
“Like what you see?”
She gave him a look. “I was more impressed with how strong you got in three months.” However, her eyes lingered on his wound, eyes filled with concern.
Knowing she was so worried about him made Kael feel better.
The monster flinched and wiggled the remaining leg wildly, but the two were far enough to be handled. Kael wordlessly stabbed inside the crack, feeling the clanking of the metal touching the monster’s chitin shell.
It was directed at the armor so his weak attacks didn’t damage it, but at least the loss of one hand slowed down its escape.
Naia held up her rope dart, ready to hold back the leg as soon as it extended enough. However, it was now focused on widening the crack so there was no chance to use the rope dart.
“Did it get lost? Is it alone?”
“Don’t underestimate it,” he said, weapons out, and they tensely waited for the monster to get out on its own.
Heading in was dangerous, and the movement would be limited. It was better to wait for it to head out. It now
Their hearts beat fast. At their peak back then, this level of alien could be killed with one skill. Things were extremely different now!
Hopefully, they didn’t expedite the tragedy.
Will resume after one of the other ongoing stories end~ Thanks!
