Chapter 237: The Secret to Getting Along

  • Next Chapter

Grace and Aria soon arrived at a nearby café.

It was a simple, cozy place with wooden tables, comfortable chairs, and large windows that let in plenty of sunlight.

A few customers were scattered around the room, quietly chatting or enjoying their drinks.

The two women chose a table near the window and sat down.

Not long after, a female waitress approached them with a menu in hand.

"Good morning, ladies. What would you like to order?"

As she spoke, the waitress couldn’t help admiring the two women sitting before her.

One of them seem to carried herself with the elegance and dignity of someone from a high noble family, while the other was no less impressive in her own way.

Even among the distinguished guests she had served, these two stood out.

Grace picked up the menu and began browsing through it, while Aria casually glanced at the available drinks.

"Let’s see..." Grace murmured. "What do you feel like having, Aria?"

Aria nodded.

"I’ll have the usual, please."

"Of course!" the waitress replied with a smile as she wrote down the order.

Grace tilted her head slightly as she watched Aria order without even looking at the menu.

"Your usual?" she asked curiously. "Do you come here often?"

"Yes. I come here whenever I have some free time. It’s a nice place, and their cakes are pretty good. It’s also usually quiet enough to relax."

"Oh?" Grace smiled slightly. "I really couldn’t tell that someone like you would enjoy cake."

Hearing that, Aria let out a small, slightly awkward laugh before trying to smile.

"I... get that a lot."

Seeing her reaction, Grace suddenly remembered something Jake had told her before.

He had once mentioned that Aria was actually a nice yet slightly innocent and awkward woman, despite her seemingly cold and serious appearance.

It was just that her skills made her look far more intimidating than she really was.

Now that Grace thought about it, he might have been right.

Looking at Aria’s slightly awkward smile at this moment, Grace found it hard to associate her with the stern serious figure she had initially imagined.

Before Aria could answer, the waitress standing beside their table let out a small cough, gently reminding them that she was still waiting for Grace’s order.

"Ahem... And what would you like to order, miss?"

Grace blinked before turning toward her.

"Oh, right. I’ll have a milk coffee, please."

"Certainly!" The waitress smiled and wrote down the order before excusing herself.

Once she had left, Grace glanced toward the counter, a faint look of curiosity appearing in her eyes.

She had often seen Jake drinking milk coffee every morning whenever she served him with her mouth.

It had become such a familiar sight that she had gradually grown curious about the drink herself.

’I’ve seen him drinking it so many times. I wonder if it’s really that good?’

Now that she finally had the chance to try it for herself, she figured there was no harm in giving it a taste.

After the waitress left, an awkward silence fell between the two women.

Grace glanced at Aria, who was sitting quietly across from her, seemingly content to wait for their orders without saying a word.

For a moment, Grace wondered whether she should start another conversation.

’Hmm... This is a little awkward.’

Grace decided to take a sip of her tea first, then hoping to ease the awkward atmosphere between them.

However, just as she brought the cup to her lips, Aria suddenly broke the silence.

"By the way, Grace..."

"Hm?"

Grace looked up at her.

Aria tilted her head slightly, her expression as calm as ever.

"Do you think Jake’s dick is a bit too big?"

Pfft—!

Grace nearly choked on her tea.

"C-Cough! Cough, cough!"

She hurriedly put her cup down, coughing several times as she stared at Aria in utter disbelief.

After all, who on earth would start a conversation like that?!

Aria tilted her head, seemingly unaware of the turmoil she had just caused.

Then her expression grew serious.

She raised one hand and made a vague gesture to indicate the size she was talking about.

"When I served him with my mouth before, I noticed it was really huge," she explained matter-of-factly. "But is that normal size?"

Seeing Aria make such a suggestive gesture, Grace glanced around nervously, half expecting someone at a nearby table to have overheard their conversation.

Then she turned back to Aria and lowered her voice.

"A-Aria! You can’t just ask something like that so casually! And why would you even start a conversation with that?!"

Aria blinked at her, looking genuinely puzzled.

"I see. I thought talking about something we have in common would be a good way to start a conversation, but it seems the book was wrong."

Grace stared at her in confusion.

"...Eh? What book?"

Aria tilted her head slightly.

"The book I’ve been reading over the past few days. It teaches you how to start conversations and get along better with people."

Hearing that, Grace blinked as she looked at Aria, but then she suddenly realized something.

’She’s... nervous.’

Nervous about... talking to her?

Despite Aria’s serious and composed expression, Grace could somehow tell that she was nervous deep down.

Thanks to Jake’s upgrade, Grace’s intuition and senses had become much sharper than before. Even the slightest change in someone’s expression or behavior was enough for her to pick up on their emotions.

In Aria’s case, it was the slight fidgeting of her fingers beneath her almost calm and composed expression that gave her away, a small, almost unnoticeable gesture that most people would have overlooked.

Grace stared at Aria for a moment before another realization suddenly struck her.

It seemed that Aria was genuinely trying her best to get to know her and build a good relationship with her.

Realizing this, Grace couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.

Thinking about it, if she were in Aria’s position, she would probably feel nervous too.

After all, if she had to approach the first woman in Jake’s life and try to gain her approval, she would be under tremendous pressure as well.

What if that woman rejected her and Jake ended up leaving her because of it? Just imagining the possibility made Grace’s face turn slightly pale.

’Yeah... I’d probably be a nervous wreck too.’

Now that she thought about it, Aria’s awkward attempts at starting a conversation suddenly made a lot more sense.

Grace looked at the serious-looking woman sitting across from her and couldn’t help but feel a hint of admiration.

Despite her nervousness, Aria was still making an effort to approach her.

’She’s actually quite brave...’

Meanwhile, Aria, who had been watching Grace’s silence, was beginning to panic internally.

’...Did I say something wrong again?’

Her expression remained as composed as ever, but beneath that calm exterior, her thoughts were in turmoil as she nervously clenched her hands beneath the table.

Just as Aria was wondering whether she should apologize, Grace suddenly let out a sigh.

"Yes, Jake’s thing really is too big."

Aria blinked and looked back at her.

For a moment, the two women stared at each other before Grace let out another sigh and continued, a hint of exasperation creeping into her voice.

"Honestly, it was really difficult at first when I tried to use my mouth. I didn’t know how I was supposed to manage it!"

Aria’s eyes widened slightly.

"Really?"

"Of course!" Grace nodded emphatically. "I even wondered how something like that could possibly be normal size!"

As she recalled those early experiences, Grace couldn’t help but feel a little embarrassed.

Nevertheless, now that they had finally found something they could talk about, she found herself relaxing considerably.

"Well, I suppose you eventually get used to it," she added with a small smile.

Aria listened intently, nodding as though Grace were sharing some valuable life experience.

’So the book wasn’t completely wrong after all...’

For the first time since they had sat down, Aria felt the tension in her shoulders begin to ease.

As the conversation continued, Grace and Aria gradually began to get along surprisingly well.

Although their conversation topics were rather questionable, with most of them revolving around Jake’s... little brother, the two women seemed to have found an unexpected common ground.

At first, Grace had been worried about how to interact with Aria.

After all, the latter’s serious expression and composed demeanor made her seem somewhat intimidating.

However, once she realized that Aria was simply nervous and genuinely trying to get along with her, Grace found herself becoming more comfortable around her.

And as they continued sharing their experiences, the awkwardness between them slowly faded away.

Before long, the two women were chatting as if they had known each other for much longer than a few minutes.

Of course, if anyone happened to overhear their conversation, they might have questioned whether these two beautiful women were really having a proper conversation in a public café.

Meanwhile, Jake had absolutely no idea that his precious little brother had become the main topic responsible for bringing the two women closer together.

Even if he had known, he probably wouldn’t have had the luxury of worrying about it.

After all...

Jake was currently dealing with a problem of his own.

A bead of sweat trickled down his forehead as... right now...

...He currently sat sideways on Blauer’s lap, his expression stiff and his body slightly tense.

’...Why is this happening to me?’

Blauer, on the other hand, seemed perfectly composed as she held Jake in place.

She glanced around at everyone present before giving a small nod.

"All right. Let us begin."
