Aqua

The dark lord actually lets out creaking sounds that somehow echo through the water when it starts to move. Only for it to slowly begin moving more and more fluidly as seconds pass. All the way until it finally raises a hand towards me and a dense orb of darkness appears in front of said hand.

Without hesitation, I activate Abyssal Reversal. And right when the monster fires off the orb of darkness, it ends up firing it in reverse. Blasting it into its own hand.

But all it does to the dark lord is chip off a few flakes of its armor and nothing more.

Damn. I was hoping it would deal more damage to itself.

Also, the thing is recovering far faster from Abyssal Reversal than anything else I’ve fought before. To the point that I feel my skill dissipating already.

And, as if it’s mocking me, numerous other dark orbs begin to appear around the dark lord one after another. With all of them growing at a rapid pace.

Then they blast straight at me all at once.

I quickly react, increasing the pressure of the water all around me while also controlling the water to form various shields. Blocking the dark orbs one after another.

But at least a third of them break through my shield and slam into my transformed body. Blasting holes through the tentacles I use to protect myself. And then slamming into my main body. Ripping out chunks in the process but not blasting straight through.

I feel immense pain flooding me from the attacks, but I quickly activate devourer to devour the many dark marauders across the Dark Ocean here that my servants are attacking. Rushing the healing of the wounds on top of my regeneration and pushing the wounds to recover by about seventy percent.

Then I activate Light of the Abyss to send out a powerful mental attack all across the Dark Ocean around me. Hitting the dark marauders and the dark lord at the same time.

The attack doesn’t do much to the dark lord, by the looks of it, but it does deal a lot to the dark marauders around us. Giving my abyssal servants the chance to attack them, with some of my servants rushing to attack the dark lord too.

But even after my servants attack it, the dark lord just shrugs off their attacks. Not taking any damage whatsoever.

My eyes narrow, but I don’t waste the distraction the servants gave me. I rush straight at the monster before swinging my tentacles straight at it, scratching its armor with my claws.

I grit my teeth at the feedback I get from my claws scraping against the dark lord’s armor, which is incredibly uncomfortable. Both for me and the monster, judging by the small traces of venom that enter the scratches on its armor.

Putting aside the abysmal damage I dealt to it, I feel more surprised by the fact that its armor seems to be part of its body than the damage.

Guess that debunks any potential theory that its armor is just an item received from a dungeon.

The dark lord suddenly reaches up with its arm to grab one of my tentacles. Following which it literally rips the tentacle from my body, making me let out a screech of pain as I send another tentacle straight for the eye sockets in its armor.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Instead of entering its eye sockets, though, some sort of magical force pushes my clawed tentacle away. Repelling it as the dark lord reaches with its other hand to grab one of my other tentacles and rip it out as well.

I screech again while giving up on cutting it. Instead just focusing on smashing it with the tentacles.

Although I do still cut it from time to time. Spreading my venom into it, even if it’s barely any of it at all.

Smashing the thing with my tentacles manages to cause minor cracks in its armor, which is good. But the dark lord keeps ripping off my tentacles one by one, dealing more damage to me than I’m dealing to it.

After it brings me down to just four tentacles remaining, I rush away while using several skills to keep it at bay.

Summoning more abyssal servants, messing with the currents around us, increasing the pressure of the water and controlling it, and even using Light of the Abyss multiple more times in a row. Repeatedly attacking the dark lord’s mind.

And thanks to all of that, I manage to build a lot of distance between me and the dark lord. While also badly damaging the other dark marauders around us.

I pant in exhaustion while feeling my transformation slowly beginning to undo itself thanks to the severe damage to my body. What with all the ripped off tentacles floating in the water.

When I return to my regular human form, I feel phantom pain all over. And several small chunks of my body are just straight up missing. Mostly around my legs.

But they’re recovering, and they start to recover even faster when I use devourer again on the dark marauders that I hit with Light of the Abyss.

I summon more and more abyssal servants and send them to attack, keeping the monsters distracted for as long as possible as I heal. All the way until I feel my exhaustion beginning to fade bit by bit.

Then I pull out my weapon in its harpoon form before activating a few skills to make a tunnel of empty space by moving the water around. Giving me a tunnel to throw my harpoon straight at the dark lord using all of my strength. Of course, with my own body in the water for my strength boost.

And my harpoon immediately rushes straight through the open air to slam into the dark lord. With the dark lord itself grabbing it by the upper part with both hands as it slams into the dark lord’s chest.

I narrow my eyes as my harpoon continues pushing through, trying to stab into its armor while the dark lord tries to hold it back.

Oh, no you don’t…

I rush forwards, closing most of the empty tunnel with water before slamming my fist straight into the back of my harpoon. Pushing it into the dark lord’s armor.

But even with my extra force, and with me summoning more tentacles behind the monster and slamming them into its back to push it into the harpoon, the harpoon barely draws blood past the armor.

I grit my teeth when I see the harpoon finally stop. Following which the dark lord rips it out of its body and launches it back at me.

The harpoon barely misses me and continues flying straight through the air before I use a few abyssal servants to catch it and bring it back to me. Then I focus on the dark lord that is leaking blood made out of pure darkness into the water from the three or so inch long hole in its chest plate.

Alright. I have an opening now.

I glance at my mana to find it already down by nearly two thirds despite my massive pool of mana. Which doesn’t bode well, but can be fixed with my mana restoration item.

But when I turn back to look at the dark marauder, I find… something unexpected… happening.

The dark blood-like substance begins to ooze out of its wound and armor faster and faster. All the way until it becomes a flood that is far worse than any bleeding should ever be.

Then its armor begins to crack before falling apart, revealing a mass of black and crimson darkness inside that explodes outwards. Growing larger and larger by the second until it forms a massive creature with actual flesh beginning to form.

Albeit flesh that is a mixture of blood and flesh, and pure darkness.

And the creature itself looks like a hybrid of different aquatic creatures.

It has the body of a large seal spanning hundreds of meters in length, with the head of a shark, and the tail of a whale. With said tail stretching on for as far as I can see.

Of course, most of its length is in its tail. Its main body besides the tail is only around a hundred or so meters long.

Which is still hella long.

And those same eyes that I saw through its armor visors before are still staring at me.

But this time with rage burning in them.

Huh.

Guess it really was a fish after all.

Sorta.
