Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System
Chapter 518: Enfeoffment and Death
Chapter 518: Chapter 337: Enfeoffment and Death
Thankfully, despite the officiant being an amateur and it being the couple’s first time, the wedding proceeded smoothly. As they exchanged rings, the simple ceremony—one that would make countless young women burn with jealousy—came to a perfect conclusion.
“Tina, do you regret this?” Having finally shed his bachelor status to become a husband, even the Lord couldn’t help but sigh with emotion.
Their relationship wasn’t like something out of an Epic tale, with dramatic, life-or-death separations meant to heighten their love.
Theirs was a bond forged in the simple charm of daily life; everything had simply fallen into place.
When he first arrived in the Wilderness to build his domain, he was prepared for the classic struggle of a young man scorned for his poverty. But instead of a noble fiancée breaking off an engagement, a bride practically delivered herself to his doorstep. She asked for no bride price, and in fact, came with her own dowry: an entire Tribe and an iron mine.
Afterward, every time he went on a campaign, she was the one who kept the vast High Cliff Castle running in perfect order. She had even learned to cook the specific dishes he liked.
Both Liya and Fulina had only wanted to marry him for his power and influence. If he were still a poor boy, he would have been their lover at best.
But Tina was different. Back in the Wilderness, he was just a broke Baron of Exploration with a few dozen Beastmen to his name, yet she still chose to throw her lot in with him without a moment’s hesitation.
Indeed, his bond with Tina was beyond words.
“How could I? Countless women across the Seven Kingdoms would love to marry you. I’m the happiest person in the world right now.” Baisitina’s hand gripped the Lord’s tightly, as if she feared this was all a fleeting dream.
“Levi, I have to thank you.”
“If it weren’t for you, I’d probably still be in that endless Hell of the Kas Mountain Range, instead of being a Duchess.” Tina’s face was flushed. She was just so happy; this was the most important day of her life.
“First, from now on, you have to call me Darling!” the Lord said with a serious face, then tapped her delicate nose and smiled. “Second, you shouldn’t thank me. You’re my wife, not some little white rabbit I rescued.”
“Dar… Darling.” Before all the witnesses, the beautiful young woman in the blue and white, strapless dress was ultimately a bit shy, murmuring the word softly.
The Lord couldn’t stop smiling as he swept her up into a princess carry.
‘This is my wife now. Forget just getting my hands on her, I could give her a big kiss right here in public and no one would dare say a word. At most, they’d just criticize me for public indecency.’
In an instant, the hall was filled with the Barbarians’ whistling and hollering, a ruckus loud enough to blow the roof off. It transformed the otherwise joyous wedding into a scene resembling a head thug and his gang forcibly carrying off a Princess.
‘Miriel still couldn’t believe it. She never thought this venom-tongued, lecherous, arrogant Lord of High Cliff Castle would actually get married. It all felt like a dream.’
“YAH!”
So the Lord gave her slender waist a pinch.
The Half-Elf looked furious. “What are you doing?”
“Does it hurt? If it hurts, then it’s not a dream.” Levi looked at the genuine expression on her face. ‘Mm, that looks like it really hurt. Guess it’s not a dream.’
‘This Half-Elf was always giving him a hard time; he’d been looking for a chance to get her back for a while now.’
Levi stood in the middle of the crowd, looking at the shy, white-haired young woman buried in his broad chest. He then glanced at the countless expectant eyes staring at him and broke into a wide grin, revealing two rows of perfectly straight, white teeth.
“My boys, your Lord has a family now!”
None of them understood what their chief meant by that, but they all knew they had never seen him this happy before. One by one, they all broke into wide, goofy grins and laughed along with him.
Arriving in this world alone and lost, it felt like yesterday. Facing a troop of elite cavalry to rescue Liya, it felt like yesterday. Leading dozens of Barbarians into the treacherous Wilderness, it still felt like yesterday. Raiding the teeming armies of the Wilderness all by himself, that also felt like yesterday…
All those yesterdays had piled on top of one another, and in their wake, the world had been transformed.
“Mier, what’s up with you…” Zat quickly noticed Mier beside him, constantly rubbing his eyes.
“It’s nothing. Got some sand in my eye,” Mier said, turning his head away.
“Here, let me blow it out for you.” Zamanzi was a kind soul. He used both hands to turn his head back, but then he froze—he saw tears welling up in the strapping young man’s eyes.
The next second, a booming laugh echoed through the hall. “Mier, you’re actually crying!”
“Screw you, I’m not crying!” Mier flared up, a mixture of shame and anger.
Mier was only seventeen or eighteen, an age when one is prone to being sentimental, and he had a strong sense of pride as well.
The two of them immediately began to tussle, throwing the hall into chaos.
“Mier is so immature,” Tina sighed softly in his arms.
“Don’t be too hard on him. He’s still young, after all. We should give him more time and be more patient,” the Lord said with a smile.
“And who was it that used to call him immature?” Tina said, giving Levi a sideways glance.
“How can that be the same?” The Lord set her down. “I’m his proper brother-in-law now. If I don’t look out for him, who will?”
“Besides, I’ve seen how hard he works. There aren’t many his age who can surpass him.”
This was what Levi truly believed. The young man had not only made significant achievements in armament research, but he had also been learning military management from Leiden. In the words of the Giant Goblin strategist, he was already more than capable of commanding an army on his own.
