Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System

Chapter 506 331: A Brewing Plot

A faint masculine presence filled the air, leaving one feeling refreshed and exhilarated.

Ashiru followed closely behind Levi, and this presence caused her face to flush.

In truth, this was a trait the Lord had naturally possessed ever since his cultivation of the Holy Word Treasure Manual had reached the Holy Hall stage.

Not only did Holy Light naturally make people subconsciously want to draw near, but the Holy Word Treasure Manual also unearthed the power hidden within the human body, making his masculine aura all the more potent.

It was as if the Creator had bestowed all of a man's masculinity and valor upon the Lord. He was a walking aphrodisiac; it would be difficult for any ordinary girl, still subject to the primal mating instincts in her bloodline, to resist him.

"Could I please have a glass of Golden Wine?"

Levi flagged down a well-dressed Attendant.

"My Lord, there's no need to be so formal. It is my honor to serve you." The young Attendant was clearly an admirer of the Lion Hunter Knight. He bowed excitedly and poured Levi a glass of the Golden Wine that the Southern Territory had presented to the King.

"And bring a few dishes for the young lady behind me, something she might like," Levi added casually.

"It would be my honor." The young Attendant, looking immensely proud, immediately went and brought back some of the limited-edition desserts.

Ashiru began to eat with great satisfaction, taking large bites without a hint of the reserve and grace expected of a Princess.

Levi sipped his wine, pondering for a moment before asking, "Princess Ashiru, do you know how to get to those two places you mentioned last time?"

Had it been anyone else, the Lord would never have asked so bluntly. But with this naive young girl before him, he had no such worries.

At the mention of this, Ashiru couldn't help but feel a little aggrieved. He was clearly Debei's famous Lion Hunter Knight, yet he had deceived her by claiming to be a Guard—and he'd even eaten all the sweet potatoes she had worked so hard to grow.

However, her feeling of grievance vanished in the blink of an eye.

'Perhaps Lord Levi just didn't want me to feel so formal back then,' Ashiru thought.

"I went there when I was a child, so I should still remember most of the way," she then said, a bit uncertainly.

"Could you take me there? I've been interested in such mysterious places since I was young." The Lord offered a warm smile. "It's the spirit of adventure, one of my hobbies."

In truth, he couldn't care less about the spirit of adventure. If he hadn't already made a promise to Sivia, he probably would have led his retinue back to High Cliff Castle this morning.

Ashiru hesitated. It wasn't that she didn't want to take Levi, but the Royal Palace was crawling with patrolling Guards, and she was just a princess no one would remember.

'But this is Lord Levi's first request of me. I can't disappoint him, no matter what!'

"No problem, Lord Levi. I can take you there."

"Thank you so much!" Levi immediately feigned an excited expression, pulling Ashiru toward the door. "No time to waste! Let's go now."

...

It was a dark and windy night, perfect for murder and arson.

However, the Lord had been cleansing his spirit with a vegetarian diet for the past few days. He had no desire for bloodshed; he just wanted to play the part of a masked thief.

On a rooftop in the Royal Palace, Ashiru glanced at the retreating patrol of Guards in the distance, then back at Lord Levi, who stood before her with his face masked by a black cloth. Her eyes were filled with bewilderment.

She had assumed they would proceed through layers of Guard inspections to reach their destination. She never imagined they would be moving in such an incredible fashion.

"AHEM. Going through all those inspections would waste too much time, and the banquet is about to start. We can just take a quick peek and be done," Levi explained calmly in the face of Ashiru's confusion, though he was inwardly thrilled.

In his past life, he had always loved taking the unconventional path when playing wuxia games. If there was a door, he'd climb through a window; if there was a window, he'd take to the rooftops. That was the only way to truly feel like a wandering hero.

Now that he possessed a superhuman physique in this life, it was only natural that he wanted to personally experience the feeling of leaping across rooftops and scaling walls.

Unfortunately, High Cliff Castle was filled with low, small wooden buildings that gave him no place to practice. Now, he was finally able to live out his dream.

"Hold on tight."

The Lord picked up the slender Ashiru and, with a light leap, became a black shadow streaking through the air. He crossed a distance of over sixty feet to land on another Gothic-style rooftop.

Ashiru clamped her small hands tightly over her mouth, terrified she would scream, but an indescribable thrill also welled up inside her.

With Levi's current physical prowess, even though he'd never specifically tested it, leaping several hundred feet in a single bound would be no problem at all. Therefore, moving about the densely built Royal Palace was easy.

In fact, the Debei Royal Family had considered the possibility of intruders sneaking into the Royal Palace and had made numerous preparations to counter it.

First, many areas in the Royal Palace were protected by No-Fly Magic Arrays, which would turn any Mage flying with Elemental Abilities into a thoroughly grounded chicken.

Second, the Guard patrols on the ground were exceptionally strict, making it nearly impossible for any suspicious individuals to get through.

However, they could never have imagined that someone could leap from rooftop to rooftop using pure physical power, allowing the Lord to move about as if he were in an uninhabited land.

In truth, you couldn't blame the Debei Royal Family for their oversight.

Ever since the Legendary Holy Hall became a thing of the past, even Holy Knights who cultivated the Holy Word Treasure Manual possessed, at most, ten-odd times the strength of a normal person.

In all the Seven Kingdoms, absolutely no one had attained the Lord's current, horrifying level of Power. Leaping between Gothic spires was considered utterly impossible, so they had never planned for such a contingency.

"Lord Levi, that's the Black Crow Bell Tower up ahead," Ashiru whispered, pointing to a black tower in front of them that had a clock near its peak.
