Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System
Chapter 490 323: Argument
Toman's finger touched the gemstone and pressed it, and the Alchemy Disc began to hum.
Along the edges, intricate, dark gold patterns lit up one after another, like mechanical earthworms suddenly waking from a thousand-year slumber.
These Runes seemed to be alive, squirming and reorganizing themselves across the disc's surface. They formed a new Star Array that projected an image into the center of the hall.
"Worri, a projection?" the Lord couldn't help but exclaim.
You couldn't blame him for being so shocked. Anyone in the Otherworld who saw something resembling a projector from a past life would be amazed.
A view of a cluttered room, filled with all manner of tools and complex machinery, materialized before them. A woman with a graceful figure was bent over a workbench, tinkering with something.
"Aunt," Toman couldn't help but call out.
"Please wait a moment, everyone." She didn't look up, continuing to focus on her work.
As one of the seven most powerful individuals on the Middle Ages Continent, everyone present was willing to grant her this courtesy.
"Feeling surprised, my Lord?" Filo seized the chance to chat with the Lord.
"Very surprising," Levi said in a low voice.
He was surprised not only to see the Queen working like a common laborer, but also by the Alchemy Creation that enabled communication over such a vast distance.
'No wonder the King of Harland admitted the Holy Sith Kingdom was much stronger than Debei.'
'With this technology alone, they could run circles around Debei in terms of troop deployment.'
'Debei also had Communication Magic Stones, but compared to an Alchemy Creation that could transmit real-time video, they were more than just a generation behind.'
'To be honest, the Lord was envious. If he could get one for Tina, he could video call her whenever he really missed her.'
"The Queen, known as the 'West Capital Jade,' is a master Alchemist," Filo said, his face full of admiration. "This Starlight Alchemy Disc is her creation, allowing people to communicate even when they're thousands of miles apart. Even the Fasting Demon Statue was her handiwork. The Queen is, without a doubt, a genius."
"To devote so much energy to Alchemy while also managing a country well... that's something no ordinary person could do."
"That's true," the Lord nodded, feeling a sense of deep agreement.
'He thought about himself. In order to manage the vast High Cliff Castle, he'd had to cut back significantly on his Martial Arts training. He was so exhausted every day that he needed the Rabbit People girls to help him... relieve his fatigue. A Lord as dedicated as him was a rare find indeed; you'd be hard-pressed to find another one in the whole world.'
And just like that, with a single Alchemy Creation, they were having a long-distance conversation with the Queen of the Holy Sith Kingdom, who was thousands of miles away.
She didn't keep them waiting long. She soon removed a pair of goggles, walked over to a chair, and leaned back into it. The projection followed her movements.
The Sith Queen had beautiful purple hair and a cold, aloof expression. She sat with her legs crossed, her slender fingers tapping on the armrest, exuding an aura of regal majesty.
"Toman, tell me what just happened again, from the start."
Toman obediently recounted the recent events, not leaving out a single detail.
"Your Majesty Harland, this is all speculation, with no evidence to support it. As for the claim that the Sith Kingdom is researching Forbidden Techniques, that is utterly baseless." Elizabeth wore a violet silk off-the-shoulder dress over a tight corset that perfectly accentuated her proud figure. Her long legs were flawless and shapely.
The Queen was exceptionally calm, her words measured and unhurried. She possessed an aura that made it impossible to argue with her.
"Furthermore, I suspect you are unaware that just three days ago, we also detected spatial fluctuations within the borders of the Holy Sith Kingdom. Our investigation revealed that a small Space Gate had appeared in a village of several hundred people."
"By the time my Knights arrived, the villagers had already been subjected to inhuman atrocities. The men had been boiled in cauldrons by the Demons. The women, after being violated, were impaled on stakes and displayed like scarecrows in the village square."
"The poor children were chained up like pets, for those Demons to toy with until they died."
"Without a doubt, the scene was more horrific than Hell itself. Not even the cruelest executioner in the Seven Kingdoms would commit such acts."
Elizabeth finished her speech, then picked up a cup of pomelo tea from a nearby table and took a sip. She waited quietly, letting her words sink in and take root.
Everyone present frowned. If it had only been the Demon attack in Debei, it could have been dismissed as a worldly coincidence. After all, there were always Demon Wizards with too much time on their hands who might, by some fluke, open a Teleportation Gate that just so happened to connect to the Material Realm.
The probability of such an event was negligible, but over the span of thousands of years, it wasn't entirely inconceivable for it to happen at least once.
But now, with a similar incident occurring in the Holy Sith Kingdom so soon after the Demon attack on White Bone Fortress, the situation was highly suspicious.
"I believe someone here is better qualified to speak on this matter," the King of Harland said, turning to the Lord of High Cliff Castle. "As it happens, our very own Duke Levi witnessed the entire incident. Perhaps he knows more about these Teleportation Gates."
"Ahem." The Lord cleared his throat, straightened his clothes, and stood up.
"First, let me be clear: I don't know why Abyss Demons are able to establish Teleportation Gates linked to the Material Realm," Levi began with a smile, continuing before anyone could react. "However, I did hear something from a friend that might be related."
