Levi’s brow furrowed slightly. He had long felt that something was off about Mandela’s deputy, Xi Ang.

’Was he planning to make his move now that I’ve spent all my energy?’

After going all out just now, the Holy Light inside his body was completely used up, but his physical stamina wasn’t really depleted.

"This farce should end here." He smiled faintly, his brilliance such that even the Bright Moon in the sky seemed to hide its face in shame.

However, contrary to what the Lord expected, his gaze landed on the Teleportation Gate, which was shimmering with a faint red glow and about to stabilize.

"I’ll close this Teleportation Gate."

He extended a hand as flawless as a gemstone. With almost no incantation, a spell shot out instantly and struck the Teleportation Gate.

The portal’s image of the Abyss, which had been on the verge of stabilizing, began to distort. The imperious demon youth on his throne grew anxious. He kicked away the Succubus before him, abandoned his siege tower, and flew forward at top speed, his hand outstretched as if to grab something.

"NO!!! Damn you, Silver Dragon! I smell your wretched stench! When I descend upon the Material Realm... it will be your..."

CRACKLE! With a loud rip, the massive Teleportation Gate instantly shrank to the size of a fingernail, then vanished with a POP.

Thus, the Teleportation Gate that would have brought Damon to the cusp of victory and plunged the entire continent into chaos was closed with shocking ease. Everyone felt as if they were trapped in an unbelievably vivid dream.

But the screams of the demons still left in this world, being slaughtered by the Blood Swordsmen, cruelly dragged them back to reality.

The few people present looked at each other, then simultaneously turned to look at Xi Ang.

"Allow me to explain." Mandela said, having found a torn piece of cloth from somewhere to tie around his waist like an apron.

It wasn’t hard to guess the cloth’s origin, judging by the naked Little Demon lying on the ground not far away with its tongue hanging out.

"But before I explain, I’d like to ask you all to help me deal with the remaining demons here first."

He added a moment later.

Closing the Teleportation Gate didn’t mean the matter was over.

At least a hundred thousand demons were still left here; they couldn’t just ignore them.

If this force were to escape and scatter, it could even destabilize a small nation.

No one objected.

And so, the operation to exterminate the demons began once more.

...

The most powerful of the demons, the Balrog Flame Demon, had already fallen. Sophia alone had killed more than a quarter of the Six-armed Snake Demon Warriors, and the rest were no longer a major concern.

The Griffin Knights took to the sky with the Ice and Snow Mages from the Northern Territory. While they weren’t strong enough to fight the Balrog Flame Demon, dealing with a few Six-armed Snake Demons was a piece of cake for them.

As for the much more numerous Low Tier Demons, they were no match for a regular army, their skill level about the same as a village militia.

Especially when facing the High Cliff Castle battalion, they were more helpless than straw, cut down row after row, becoming nothing more than souls reaped by the blades of High Cliff Castle.

You see, when fighting human soldiers in the past, a certain moral code prevented them from completely wiping out the enemy. At worst, prisoners of war would be held until the conflict ended and then released.

But demons were different. There was only one principle: exterminate them all, annihilate them with all available might.

This principle was an exhausting chore for other soldiers, but for the High Cliff Castle battalion, it was more exciting than a New Year’s feast.

In their eyes, these demons were directly linked to the Gift of the War God.

It was foreseeable that after this battle, High Cliff Castle would once again experience an explosive surge in power.

As the Demon Army was gradually wiped out, the morning dawn gave way to the egg-yolk yellow of sunset.

The Lord finally led his troops to rendezvous with the Northern Border Corps again.

After a long night of work, not only were the Northern Soldiers so tired their eyelids were heavy, but even Fulina, the Duke, couldn’t stop yawning.

But the moment she saw the Lord in the tent, her energy instantly returned.

"Levi, did you see the Silver Dragon Knight last night?"

"I did."

Levi nodded.

At the time, it wasn’t just the people in White Bone Fortress; probably most of the Northern Border Corps stationed outside saw it too. It was impossible to hide.

Fulina recalled the scene, saying in amazement, "We all thought the demons were going to take back White Bone Fortress, but then a Dragon Knight appeared out of nowhere and easily resolved the crisis."

"Then he rushed into the Hengduan Mountain Range, defeated the Balrog Flame Demon with almost crushing force, and ended a disaster that could have affected the entire continent."

"This Epic battle will definitely be recorded in the annals of history. That brave and fearless Dragon Knight who saved everyone in their time of peril will be sung about by Minstrels for a hundred years, becoming a legendary hero spoken of fondly in taverns and marketplaces."

"Haha, I imagine he must be a knight more handsome than anyone can imagine," the Lord said, playing dumb while shamelessly praising himself.

"Then do you know who that Dragon Knight is?" Fulina looked at Levi, staring intently at his handsome face.

"How would I know?" Levi waved his hand dismissively with a straight face. Anyone who didn’t know the truth would have been completely fooled.

Fulina stood up, walked over to the Lord, and leaned in close, bringing her face near his. Levi could already smell a milky fragrance wafting into his nose. With a puzzled look, she asked, "How come I feel like that person was you?"

"My dear Duke, I’m just a country lord. How could I possess such abilities?" Even though the two snowy-white mounds before him were so dazzling, the Lord kept his gaze fixed on her questioning eyes under their long lashes and sighed. "I only wish that Dragon Knight were me."

"It’s really not you?"

"Definitely not me."

"Oh, come on. Mandela already told me. By now, the rumor has spread so far that even the goats in logistics know." Fulina grabbed the Lord’s shoulders with her slender hands, her voice filled with excitement. "With the relationship we have, you’re still lying to me!"

"Alright, I admit it. The Dragon Knight is none other than I, your Lord." Levi nodded nonchalantly, humblebragging coolly. "It’s just a Dragon Knight, isn’t it? No need to get so excited."

"Besides, Lady Fulina, you can’t just casually throw around a phrase like ’the relationship we have’. If outsiders heard that, they might think there’s some kind of sordid affair between us."

"But this is a Dragon Knight! A Dragon Knight, who completely vanished from the world hundreds of years ago, don’t you understand?!"

The Duke of the North lost her composure for once, excitedly shaking the Lord’s shoulders.

Anyone who didn’t know better might have thought she was a lonely noble lady who had just caught her husband cheating.

You have to understand, Dragon Knights are the most elite of all Knights, symbolizing everything from handsomeness and power to bravery and fearlessness. They are the Prince Charming in every little girl’s heart.

They are the lover that princesses sit by the window for day and night, craning their necks in the hope that a knight in Silver Armor will descend from the sky on a mighty Giant Dragon to carry them away from their cage and let them soar through the heavens.

Fulina had once been an ordinary little girl, too. Now, the Dragon Knight she had buried deep in her heart was standing right before her in the flesh. How could she not be excited?

Coupled with the fact that Dragon Knights had vanished for hundreds of years, this context made this particular Dragon Knight seem all the more precious. He wasn’t just one in a thousand... no, he was the lone sprout in ten thousand acres of land.

"Lady Fulina, stop shaking me! Any more and I’ll get dizzy!"

Levi hurriedly told her to stop. It wasn’t that the shaking was making him dizzy, but that the expanse of white bobbing before his eyes was truly a test of his character.

Fulina finally realized she had lost her composure. She subtly moved away, picked up a cup of tea from the table, and took a sip to calm herself.

The Lord really wanted to say that he had just drunk from that cup, but he opened his mouth and closed it again, not knowing how to bring it up.
