Chapter 2295 - 97: Encountering the Knight Order Again (2)

But as Clockwork Fairy's vision rotated back, Fang Hong suddenly noticed that in the alley behind him, several figures were moving on the rooftops.

Looking down from high above, those shadows were dragging long cloaks, leaping and traversing across tightly packed rooftops, and judging by their figures, they should be human. However, among the Adventurers, only a few professions could manage such agility, being either Nightingales or Rangers.

When Fang Hong saw clearly the direction those figures were heading, his heart slightly tense— they were coming his way. He instinctively wanted to retreat, but it was already too late, a figure emerged from the roof not far away, aiming a Longbow in his direction.

"Who is there?"

The person called out sharply.

Rustling sounds followed as more figures appeared on the surrounding rooftops, each holding bows and crossbows, with the cold light of arrows reflecting the flames flickering from a block away, slightly dazzling.

Fang Hong was unsure whether they were enemies or allies, but he couldn't place his hope of survival on these unknown strangers. He didn't even have time to ponder what went wrong, promptly raised his hand on the Information Crystal, ready to summon Dragon Hunters to shield him.

Yet his move was equally visible to these Rangers, as the lead Ranger suddenly released his hand, 'buzz' an air tremor sounded, like a flickering cold light in the night, the arrow flew through the air.

But a transparent ripple swept through the alley, where it passed, the planks, doors, windows, even the tiles on the eaves produced creaking sounds, tiles seemingly lifted by an invisible hand from the rooftops, standing upright like a startled cat, nails pulled out, suspended in midair.

The ripple hit the flying arrows, which spiraled sideways, as if a gust of wind had swept over the rooftops, everyone unable to hold onto their bows and crossbows, they flew out of hands, into the air, converging into a cluster, then fell heavily.

In that moment, tiles and nails dropped, clattering to the ground.

Only a few could hold onto their bows, including the one who shot at Fang Hong, but most had lost their arrows, confronted by such a strange occurrence, they were unsure what to do.

As for the majority of Rangers who hadn't seen this before, they stood dumbfounded.

Fang Hong turned his head, glancing toward one direction of the alley, indeed seeing a young man with a raised collar, face tightly shrouded, holding a Magic Wand, stepping out from that direction. At the other end, a Miss Maid stood gracefully at the alley's entrance.

Xiesta put on her arm guards, looking up from afar at the enemies on the rooftop.

"Why are you here?" Fang Hong asked Xiangzi with his gaze.

Xiangzi glanced back at Xiesta, Fang Hong then instantly understood, in the team only Hilveld apart from him could command these two.

Xiesta would only follow her Miss's orders, but reluctantly would do something for him as well— at least serving tea and water, treating him and her Miss equally. As for Xiangzi, after being praised several times by Hilveld as cold and heartless, he was thoroughly bought.

However, Fang Hong felt a bit annoyed, he certainly knew Hilveld was worried about him, but it always made him feel he wasn't so reliable or reassuring.

Annoyance aside, he couldn't say much now, fortunately Xiangzi arrived, otherwise he would have really taken a loss.

After a while, someone among them shouted:

"Lingen School Wizard!"

That's another term for Power System Magic Guided Conductors, merely because most Wizards in this School excelled in this path.

This term was evidently aimed at Xiangzi, the Rangers must've mistaken him for a High Tower Witch, even an Arcanist, both of which are High Rank terms for Magic Guided Conductors.

Archmage Kalatu once served at Horns Bay Institute, spending some time as an Arcanist, though he later advanced to Archmage, which was another story. But for Invokers, an Arcanist was already a Level Four profession, equivalent to Level 30 and above.

Moreover, Xiangzi's previous strike demonstrated power beyond just a Level 30 conductor.

In short, these people were evidently stunned by Xiangzi.

However, Xiangzi discreetly gestured '2' to Fang Hong, pressing one hand on his Magic Guided Gloves, Fang Hong clearly understood that the previous scene was owed to these gloves. Shana's friend gifted both him and Ai Xiaoxiao with a present, Xiangzi's gift being these gloves, which had three charges, each taking considerable time to recharge, they could extremely reinforce any Power System spells of its wearer.

Fang Hong hadn't heard of their origin, but clearly, the value was significant, not likely produced from the First World.

Xiagzi's gesture meant the gloves had two charges left, unless using a Mana Storage Crystal, otherwise in their natural state, every charge takes several days.

However, the combat did not continue, suddenly a voice came from behind the Rangers:
