Chapter 2270 - 89: The Hijackers (Part 2)

He had no choice but to retreat, but the opponent's attacks were extremely fierce, leaving him only capable of parrying for the moment.

Teleportation magic—only then did Fang Hong finally see the situation clearly.

Although the sudden attackers were some mysterious beings, they were clearly far superior to the knights. Those so-called Crow's Claw Knights were at most level seventeen or eighteen, while their opponents were at least above level twenty.

Practically in an instant, the knights from the stands were swept down, either dead or wounded. The knight responsible for the announcement was pierced through the heart by the red-haired female swordswoman, falling headlong from the stands.

Blood gushed from beneath the silver armor, stark against the snow.

The female swordswoman then turned around and slashed the chains off the hands and feet of that little girl, lifting her from the scaffold.

She said something to the little girl, but from a distance, Fang Hong couldn't make out the words or lips. He could only use the Record Crystal to capture the scene, then saw the little girl gently shake her head.

The red-haired female swordswoman picked up the little girl in her arms, turned to glance at the stands where her companions had practically cleared the knights, rescuing most of the people.

Though injuries occurred here and there, overall it progressed smoothly. She shouted something faintly, then turned to leap down from the stands.

By now, the entire plaza was in chaos, with almost everyone fleeing, fearful of being drawn into the battle. When the red-haired female swordswoman leaped down, the crowd didn't dare to stop her, instead quickly making way.

In the plaza, there were still some Invokers, but most opted to remain detached, observing from the sidelines to avoid being involved.

Since the Crow's Claw Knights couldn't stop the attackers and the Invokers refused to intervene, the plaza became even more confused.

The innkeeper, being somewhat kind-hearted, shouted as he fled: "They're Dragon Witch's people, cold-blooded killers. Run quickly!"

Nonetheless, Fang Hong felt these people didn't look like Dragon Worshippers—

He exchanged a glance with Hilveld. Though uncertain whether the attackers were Nikopolas's subordinates, it was clearly not the right time to get involved without reason.

Tianlan seemed hesitant, as she clearly wished to help: "Brother Ade?"

But Fang Hong shook his head. He also believed those people were innocent, but given the unclear situation, he couldn't be sure of his judgment.

"Let's just wait and see," he simply replied.

While speaking, he signaled to everyone, guiding them slightly towards a corner of the plaza.

But Fang Hong found it frustratingly amusing to know whether he genuinely attracted trouble—after maneuvering through the crowd, the red-haired female swordswoman ended up heading straight towards them.

Upon closer inspection, Fang Hong realized their retreat path was strategic, spreading out in nearly every direction in the plaza, making the Seven Seas Travel Group inevitably collide with them.

Fang Hong relaxed at once, realizing it wasn't simply bad luck.

At this moment, the red-haired female swordswoman charged out of the crowd, standing before them with the little girl.

When she glanced at them, a flicker of doubt appeared in her eyes.

Fang Hong found her strangely familiar and was about to speak, but the swordswoman's expression turned cold as she raised her longsword towards them: "Move aside—"

Fang Hong eyed the gleaming sword tip without worry, knowing her displayed skill was merely that of a typical level twenty Invoker. At his peak, he could handle ten of those.

There was commotion from a corner of the plaza. Fang Hong looked in that direction and silently flying was a silver Clockwork Fairy. In seconds, he saw the scene unfold.

Some Invokers were approaching, and it turned out to be familiar faces—their silver war robes he knew well—members of the Silver Forest Spear.

Unexpectedly, Silver Forest Spear members seemed allied with the Crow's Claw Sanctuary's knights. They surrounded a few attackers there and dispatched some towards him as well.

Only then did Fang Hong pull up the wind goggles, withdrawing his gaze and addressing the female swordswoman before him frankly:

"You're not our match."

The female swordswoman only gripped her longsword, saying nothing. Actually, when Fang Hong removed the wind goggles, her heart tightened—for the Combat Artisan, any Eteliria Invoker knew what that meant.

It signified combat power surpassing ordinary men under the Dragon Knights.

She loosened her grip on the sword, then tightened again hesitating repeatedly, but ultimately dared not act. If Fang Hong were alone, perhaps it'd be different, yet he clearly wasn't alone.

Fang Hong now shifted his gaze, noticing the little girl hiding behind the swordswoman. Her head was lowered, avoiding eye contact, her gaze somewhat scattered.

He sighed, stepping aside to clear a path.

"Go on."

"But if you truly are Dragon Worshippers, letting you leave means we can capture you back as well."
