Chapter 2249 - 82: Return to Traveler's Rest_4

The slender rapier, as ice as snow, with a white and crystal clear pointed tip, pierced the dragon beast's throat like lightning, then quickly withdrew.

The monster howled in mid-air, clutching its throat, losing balance and crashing forward. Briana backhandedly pushed the Great Sword Warrior away, then turned to face the dragon beast crashing toward her, eyes gleaming brightly.

Without any visible movement, the dragon beast flew backward, crashing with a splash into the lake, sending water flying into the air.

Before Briana, a hexagonal mesh appeared, a gray shield blocking every drop of water securely, forming a transparent hemispherical dome, letting the muddy water slowly slide down.

Only then did she turn to go help Fang Hong behind her.

But as she just turned around, a dazzling brilliance entered her eyes, the massive black shadow split in two, the upper and lower halves sliding apart, blood gushed out like a fountain, blooming like scarlet petals.

Behind the giant shadow, a slender construct with red glowing eyes slowly sheathed its sword, the blade dark and heavy, with blood as rich as rose-hued wine trickling down, forming beautiful patterns.

Fang Hong stood beside the construct, flicking his glove, not even raising his head. Hilveld stood charmingly behind him, while Miss Maid hadn't moved an inch from start to finish.

Briana watched this scene and raised her eyebrows, since the last time she had seen them, it seemed this little fellow had grown quite a bit.

She didn't bother with the third dragon beast.

Because before it could escape the water surface, a layer of white frost spread from the silver dagger embedded in it, quickly forming a layer of ice, freezing the giant beast and the lake below it into a sculpture.

Then again, it crashed down behind her.

Seeing this scene, people awoke as if from a dream.

"Aquen Elves."

Knights from Elpaxin whispered among themselves, exchanging opinions.

The speech of the North Wind, fairies of winter, indeed referred to the branch of the Aquen Elves, just like the harmony between Forest Elves and Nature, their affinity with ice and elemental forces was a proud ability of their clan.

However, those who could turn talent into real ability were outstanding even among the Aquen Elves.

At least enough to command respect.

It was then that a knight stepped forward to inquire: "Are you guests coming from the direction of Charter City?"

The combat seemed to have ended, people hadn't expected dragon beast lurkers to arrive nearby in such a manner, if not for this Aquen Elf discovering them, they wouldn't know how long they would have stayed below.

They checked the nearby swamp but found no more enemies.

This was even more surprising, suggesting the lady elf before them seemed to have thorough knowledge of the surrounding situation.

After this brief battle, no one dared to underestimate the Seven Seas Travel Group anymore. The Great Sword Warrior, saved by Briana, more so had no face to stay around and quietly left on his own, without even a word of thanks.

"Is there anyone else from Charter City?" Briana asked the knight.

The knight glanced at the construct beside Fang Hong—a High-level Battle Craftsman, feeling even more that this team had mysterious origins, but they were neither from Charter City nor Elpaxin, which confused him.

He glanced uneasily at the group, then nodded slightly: "The Silver Forest Spear Guild and the Rose Cross Army are stationed in that place, many experts are there, so I thought you were..."

"We're not from Charter City," Briana replied straightforwardly: "We were just passing through, no need for you to concern about us."

Her tone had a hint of authority, but the knight felt nothing strange, immediately bowed and backed away.

A moment later he felt something was off—why did he feel as though he was facing the Grand Commander, unable to muster any opposition.

Briana then turned back, Tianlan was looking at the dragon beast turned to ice—they resembled giant toads, with their skin pitted, uneven with glands. This giant monster was dark green throughout, yet not entirely solid, veiled in a swirling black mist.

That black mist was all too familiar to them, Fang Hong could even scent a whiff of Nikopolas from it.

"Why would dragon beasts appear here?" he couldn't help but ask.

But the crowd parted to make way for them, leading towards Traveler's Rest.

Briana glanced in that direction, then answered lightly: "This place isn't what you think anymore, Nikopolas' power has long penetrated this area, it is these people barely holding back the Dragon Beast Army."

Her voice was soft, as if narrating something self-evident, "Though that person speaks harshly, he isn't wrong, the former Traveler's Swamp and the current are completely different, you must quickly acclimatize to everything."

"Quickly acclimatize to everything?" Fang Hong was slightly puzzled, not quite understanding what it meant.

But the Elf Princess did not answer them, just looked towards the looming shadow, changing the subject: "Follow me, it seems someone over there is waiting for you."

"Sister Briana, you say someone is waiting for us?"

Now it was Tianlan and the others' turn to be puzzled.

Wasn't it said Mazak and Luen Linxiu had left Traveler's Rest, who else could be waiting for them here?
