Pillar of Yita
Chapter 2245 - 81: Immortal Life (Part 3)
"That's the Fenris people."
The old Tower Guard said irritably, this kid almost got everyone in the port killed.
"What are they here for?"
This was also the question that Tang Xin was somewhat curious about.
Fang Hong, who was standing nearby, was equally restless—so many people had come, and that event, or task, or unexplored area with Lord Level creatures must have very rich rewards; it might even be World Level. The people on Fenris Isle are truly lucky to have discovered such an event.
Unfortunately, they had already planned to leave this place, otherwise they would have gone to take a look, no matter what.
He stood up, adjusted his collar, and looked in that direction: "At least they're not here to attack the port."
"Why?" Tang Xin looked at her cousin with some doubt: "How do you know? They look so aggressive, it's hard to believe they're not malicious."
"Look at their sailors on deck," Fang Hong pointed in that direction and answered confidently, "The cannon doors are closed, which indicates they harbor no ill intent. But so many ships can't all dock in the port, Iron Cliff Port is about to become chaotic."
Tang Xin took a look in that direction, half-convinced.
As Fang Hong said, about half an hour later, they encountered the large ship group sailing towards them.
Tang Xin looked up at the big ships with blood-colored sails passing by the Seven Seas Traveler, and the other side seemed not to care much about them but headed straight for Iron Cliff Port.
At that time, there was not only their ship on the Sky Sea; near the coast, there were also many fishing boats, and the Fenris people ignored them, not clearing the sea surface, indicating that they might indeed not be hostile. However, the specific reason for their arrival was only known to the heavens by Fang Hong and others.
Fang Hong took one last look in that direction, observing the towering stern of the Blood Ship, realizing that the strength of the chosen ones and the guilds on Fenris Isle combined couldn't muster such power; it must be the fleet from Cloud Harbor.
Once, due to Toragotos's presence, this fleet could be considered the only local fleet on the Cloud Sea.
"The strength of Fenris Isle is surprisingly strong."
Tianlan slid down from the mast, patting her chest repeatedly in awe, as she was badly scared earlier.
"It's not that strong," Fang Hong shook his head.
The fleet on Fenris Isle ranks only at the bottom on the Cloud Sea; whether it's the two major fleets of Colin Ishurian, the fleet belonging to the Third District military stationed at Crosswind Harbor, or the fleet of the Descendants of Flor and the Rainbow Alliance, they are all much stronger.
However, it also showed that once the Descendants of Flor truly mobilize their strength, it would be a terrifying scenario. Watching this scene, he regained some clarity; their fake attack on the Nogness local guild fleet at Kailan Ao paled in comparison to true power.
The Seven Seas Travel Group is still far from contending with such a real colossus, still quite a way off.
But as Fang Hong turned back and saw his cousin open her mouth again, he suddenly forgot all his reflections, swiftly changing the subject: "Forget about the Fenris people for now, Princess Briana's side should be ready soon, waiting for us to meet up."
The Berio, such a large ship, can't dock at Iron Cliff Port, so it's parked near a small Sky Island. There's enough skilled craftsmen on board, possibly completing their work faster than us.
Tang Xin looked at her cousin, knowing his tricks well, but merely snorted lightly, dismissing the matter. She knew further questioning would be meaningless, especially since those thoughts faded considerably after this diversion.
Thus, the first discussion on the Seven Seas Travel Group's balance sheet ended inconclusively.
The Seven Seas Traveler, burdened with a huge financial deficit, continued its northern voyage toward the Rainbow Sky Canyon.
...
In the darkness—
Kodi'er looked at everything before him with some horror; he never imagined he'd witness this scene.
In the pentagram, among those half-melted candles, amidst the white skulls, that surging pool of blood, resembling countless hands, was struggling out from the boiling, viscous liquid, trying to grab his legs, pulling him in.
Large beads of sweat slid down his forehead, his throat seemed filled with cotton, unable to make a sound. He once prided himself on being fearless, having long suspected these people were doing illegal activities below, the missing people from the town could be found an answer right here—
Unexpectedly, he did find the answer.
Yet at this moment, Kodi'er felt his legs weakening, perhaps not from fear, but a shiver from instinct.
A deeper sense of crisis was rising in his heart; if these people knew what was beneath here, why would they let him in boldly? Kill him? He wasn't afraid; even if back on Earth, he would expose the falsehood beneath all this deceit.
But the issue is, where did those missing people actually go?
A chilling thought suddenly surfaced in his mind, Kodi'er turned his stiff head back to look at those people: "Ladies and gentlemen, what is this..."
"We don't know either; it's been here from the start."
"Do you think I would believe that?"
"Believe it or not, it's up to you." The person sneered.
Kodi'er took a step back, casting his gaze over those sinister faces: "Charter City..."
"It's none of your business, Kodi'er, you've seen enough."
"You're violating..."
"Oh, come on," a cold voice interrupted him: "The damn manifesto doesn't apply to us at all."
Kodi'er widened his eyes, ready to retort when suddenly a voice came down from the stairs:
"Kodi'er, are you down there? They said you found something."
This voice made his eyes widen; he didn't know from where he drew a burst of strength, suddenly barging past the people, running towards the stairs. While running, he screamed:
"Don't listen to them, Goliddis, run! Quickly!"
"Kodi'er?"
It wasn't clear if he moved too quickly, too unexpectedly, or if those people were knocked dizzy by him, for a moment no one could capture him. Kodi'er, stumbling, rushed up the stairs, he didn't have time to look back, the footsteps of the girl outside grew closer.
He lunged at the door, pushing it open with a bang, with the door swinging left and right, revealing the silhouette of the girl behind.
Those bright eyes looked at him with some curiosity: "Kodi'er?"
"Goliddis, quickly—"
Kodi'er's words suddenly stuck in his throat; he felt a stabbing pain in his chest, looking up in shock at the girl before him holding a sword, piercing into his chest. Goliddis's expression gradually cooled down, like wearing a mask of deceit.
"Go... Goliddis?"
"Sorry."
A flicker of purple flame flashed in the girl's bright eyes.
"Kodi'er, I am an Immortal..."
"You..."
The young man looked at his companion in disbelief, opened his mouth, and suddenly weakly bowed his head.
