Pillar of Yita
Chapter 2102 - 38: Heart of Chongshan
The Knight of Virtue does not lie, and besides, he couldn't think of any reason for the other party to lie.
Time Reflection nodded, struggling to point to his own chest with his hand.
To prevent getting lost below, each of them had a backup map. These maps were made by the Nightingales who participated in the excavation work here over the past few months.
Each miner had a copy of the map, so it wasn't exactly a secret.
Fang Hong looked at the necklace on the other's chest, and with permission, picked it up. He injected a bit of Magic Power to activate it, and a three-dimensional projection of the map appeared below the crack for both to see.
It was roughly divided into three layers, each with more than one passage leading downwards, left by those who previously conducted mining operations here.
Fang Hong pointed at several of the passages and said to the Lion Paladin next to him: "Mr. Reed, look, there's not just one entrance and exit down there. When I visited Kapuka, I toured the union's mines, and almost all mines of Colin Ishurian are designed by Alchemists, always following the same principles."
"Unless these monsters infest beneath the mine, they can't guard every entrance and exit."
Reed stroked his beard: "So, what do you plan to do?"
"Play hide-and-seek with them," Fang Hong answered, "and collect what we want in the process."
"You're the Captain," the Big Catfolk nodded, "it's up to you."
Fang Hong turned around and looked at Time Reflection, "Friend, we're going to leave this place next, can you still move?"
Time Reflection shook his head with difficulty.
"That's okay, we can take you out," Fang Hong said, "but if we run into any trouble, we might prioritize leaving you behind, is that alright?"
Time Reflection breathed a sigh of relief, betting that a team with a Knight of Virtue would never leave him behind alone. His assumption proved correct; the counterpart was even more reliable than he imagined.
He finally managed to squeeze out a sentence: "I... understand."
He certainly understood, it was already the best option.
Fang Hong nodded and then turned away.
He looked at the distant monsters hesitating before the wall of light, and asked back:
"Parker, are you ready?"
But it was Gita who answered, "Brother Ade, ready."
"Found the weak points of the structure?"
"Yes, thanks to Sister Hilveld's help. She's quite skilled in architecture."
What is there that Miss Ship's Officer doesn't know? Fang Hong hesitated slightly, but he was aware that this was all just common knowledge for nobles.
In this world resembling Earth several centuries ago, nobles and clerics were the ones who monopolized Knowledge. He looked towards a direction in the darkness and said:
"Then mark them out."
"Okay."
Gita's response was crisp and strong.
Time Reflection immediately heard a strange spell, sonorous and powerful, neither belonging to the Magic Guided Conductor nor to the Elementalist.
Then he saw three points of red light illuminate successively in the darkness in the distance, landing beneath the rock wall.
He also heard the young man speak once again:
"Mr. Reed, cancel the spell."
The Big Catfolk retracted their claws.
The wall of light dimmed slightly, then vanished. The Crystal Monsters, isolated on the other side of the wall, immediately became excited, converging into a torrent and rushing in this direction.
Even though Time Reflection knew these people were prepared, seeing this scene still made his heart race.
But at that moment, Fang Hong lowered his hand, and those peculiar Constructs simultaneously lowered their arms.
"Parker." He turned his head back.
"Watch me!"
A somewhat exaggerated, high-pitched voice came.
Three muffled sounds of 'thump, thump, thump,' and Time Reflection immediately saw three arcs of light appear in the darkness, as three Explosive Crossbow Bolts with long tails flew towards that direction.
They hit the three flickering dark red points of light beneath the rock wall accurately, then burst into an incredible brightness from the arrow clusters.
Three explosive roars converged into an ear-splitting explosion, echoing beneath the rock layers. Time Reflection recognized them as Explosive Crossbow Bolts, a Skill of little use at this Level.
Yet they created an exaggerated effect.
A fissure appeared in the rock layer scattered with rubble there.
The crack soon expanded into an irreparable rift, causing the wall to collapse with loud creaks, turning into a cascade of falling rock fragments.
The intense tremor triggered a chain reaction, causing pieces of the rock wall to fall like a collapsing mountain, crashing down thunderously.
The flowing rock layers and gravel instantly buried the Crystal Monsters beneath.
The rising dust cloud obscured everything, blocking everyone's view.
And Fang Hong turned around in the mist, then clapped his hands and said:
"Let's go, hurry up."
