Chapter 2418 - 2426: The Price is Not Enough

Xin Shixun felt utterly humiliated by Xin Xishan’s scolding. He was about to burst with frustration! Why? Why did Liu Yi understand the ransomware better than he did?

"The dedicated remover for Variant 11 can be created, but it will take some time."

"How long?" Xin Xishan asked through gritted teeth.

"I’ve taken a careful look, and Variant 11 is a bit more troublesome than Variant 10. It will probably take about three hours."

"Three hours? In three hours, our Lotte Group will be set on fire by irate consumers! One hour! I’ll give you a maximum of one hour!"

Xin Shixun hung his head in surrender. Even if someone put a gun to his head, he couldn’t produce the dedicated remover for Variant 11 in one hour. Was his grandfather trying to push him to his death?

After long consideration, Xin Shixun came up with an extremely humiliating solution—to ask for international assistance, just like Huaxia Net Bureau did earlier!

Xin Shixun sighed heavily, and, gritting his teeth, he typed a message on the official website of the World Hacker Alliance.

"The spread of the ransomware is severe; I hope everyone can help create a dedicated remover. I will definitely not let you down and will give you a generous reward!"

No one responded to Xin Shixun’s words, as nobody was willing to offend the formidable Liu Yi!

After a long wait, still no responses came, except for a few hackers from Country H showing support for Xin Shixun. However, these hackers ranked low and were essentially ineffective.

And with sugar, jin, and the Clown King’s main computers destroyed, even if they wanted to help, they were powerless to do so.

"Gentlemen, do not underestimate the contagion of the ransomware. It is highly infectious and will quickly spread to your countries. Do you really want to watch as the ransomware variants spread within your own nations?"

Haus spoke up, "LT, the great Liu Yi just promised that all his variants would only target Lotte Group’s mobile products. We can’t just casually help you."

...

In the Capital City, at Changan Club, Mo Yuqi’s suite, Mo Yuqi lay quietly on Qin Yu’s broad chest, her face brimming with happiness.

They got back late last night, and Qin Yu didn’t have the heart to tease Mo Yuqi, so he merely held her for a short nap.

Mo Yuqi slowly opened her eyes and, out of habit, grabbed her phone to check it. Upon seeing Diana’s report, Mo Yuqi’s face lit up with a brilliant smile.

"Honey, you’re so amazing!" Mo Yuqi planted a kiss on Qin Yu’s cheek.

"What’s up?" Seeing Mo Yuqi so excited, Qin Yu asked with a smile.

"Lotte Group’s shares have hit the limit down! And our Emperor Group’s sales have made history, even outperforming several known international brands!

Hahaha, it kills me! They wanted to strike at Emperor Group, but they ended up shooting themselves in the foot!"

Qin Yu smiled faintly, "Why do I feel like Lotte Group hasn’t paid enough of a price?"

Mo Yuqi looked at Qin Yu with confusion, "Not enough? It’s quite a hefty price! Lotte Group has hit the limit down, and if nothing unexpected happens, they will do so again tomorrow! Soon, Lotte Group will announce bankruptcy. I think that’s a heavy price!"

Qin Yu grinned mysteriously, "Why let Lotte Group go bankrupt? Wouldn’t you want to own Lotte Group?"

Mo Yuqi’s eyes sparkled with realization, and she excitedly asked, "Honey, do you have a way?"

"Of course. The biggest worry for Lotte Group right now is the dedicated remover for the variant virus! And that’s what I have no shortage of."

"Honey, give me the dedicated remover." Mo Yuqi’s eyes were glowing.

Qin Yu smiled, picked up his phone, and sent Mo Yuqi a file. On opening it, she found more than twenty dedicated removers for ransomware.

Mo Yuqi registered an account with the World Hacker Alliance and reached out to Xin Shixun using it.

"LT, I’ve created the dedicated remover for Variant 11. Do you want it?"

Xin Shixun was almost stunned by the message!

Just a few minutes? He had only completed five percent, how could someone have created the Variant 11 already?

"Yes! Of course I want it! How much do you want in commission?"

"I don’t want a commission. I want shares in Lotte Group, just one percent will do."

One percent?

Just one percent?

Xin Shixun was furious. The market value of Lotte Group was over a hundred billion US dollars.

One percent was ten billion US dollars!

Why don’t you just rob a bank?

"Heh...exploiting a crisis?"

As he spoke, Xin Shixun released several trial source codes, attempting to find Mo Yuqi’s IP and confirm her identity.

Unfortunately, Mo Yuqi’s phone had already been equipped with a firewall by Qin Yu, so how could Xin Shixun find Mo Yuqi’s IP?

"If LT doesn’t need it, then forget it. I’ll just treat this as a bit of fun."

Xin Shixun: "..."

Just then, Xin Xishan’s phone call came through again, "Shixun, how’s the exclusive antivirus coming along? The directors are very dissatisfied and are clamoring to divest!"

"Almost...almost there!"

"Half an hour! I can only wait half an hour! If you can’t produce the exclusive antivirus within half an hour, the consequences will be severe!"

"Yes..."

After hanging up the call, Xin Shixun contacted queen.

"One percent of Lotte Group’s shares, I’ll give them to you! But first, I need to verify the product!"

"Deal!"

Mo Yuqi, of course, wouldn’t foolishly give the Variant 11 exclusive antivirus directly to Xin Shixun. Instead, she had Qin Yu set up a password before sending it over.

With just one look, Xin Shixun was certain that this was indeed the exclusive antivirus for Variant 11. He sent Mo Yuqi an electronic contract, transferring his shares in Lotte Group to her.

Mo Yuqi briefly perused the contract and said contentedly, "LT has shown good faith. The password is..."

After receiving the password, Variant 11 was finally eliminated!

Xin Shixun breathed a sigh of relief.

At last, he could report back to his grandfather!

Seeing how quickly Xin Shixun resolved the Variant 11 issue, the directors calmed down and stopped making a fuss about divesting.

Unfortunately, in less than ten minutes, Variant 12 made its explosive debut!

Variant 12 was even more vicious than 11!

In an instant, it swept through all the mobile phones under the Lotte Group umbrella!

Beads of sweat sprouted on Xin Shixun’s forehead!

How could this be?

How could Variant 12 have appeared?

And in 64-bit no less!

The Variant 11 he just dealt with had seemed to be the limit of 64-bit encryption in his eyes!

"Shixun, I can only hold them off for half an hour! If we can’t deal with Variant 12 within half an hour, the Xin Family is finished!"

Xin Xishan’s tone had suddenly aged a great deal. What kind of entity had they offended!

"Yes, Grandfather, I’ll do my best."

Half an hour? Xin Shixun laughed bitterly.

He knew there was no way he could sort it in half an hour. Reluctantly, he contacted queen again.

"How soon can you come up with an exclusive antivirus for Variant 12?"
