Chapter 110: Olivia’s Powers

I stretched my hand forward like a messiah and Olivia accepted an offer with the devil.

The system made a ding sound and a new interface appeared in my line of sight.

[Commencing awakening.]

The next instant a mysterious energy seemed to flow from my body and into Olivia.

Olivia felt the strange presence flow into her body and she subconsciously closed her eyes submissively.

The energy felt soothing and warm as it coursed through her body.

From her outstretched hand it flowed inwards and extended toward her still beating heart.

A faint cracking noise could be heard and Olivia felt herself forming a connection to something.

As she breathed in and out she felt a faint connection to the world.

There seemed to be something akin to air but not quite.

It seemed ethereal and eternal and there was no end to it.

However there was an end to how much she could absorb it.

She began inhaling more, taking in deep breaths as the mana flowed into her body.

Nicole’s eyes were wide as she watched the two.

The cracking sound like glass shattering continued echoing in the quiet room.

Before long Olivia felt the energy come to a stop.

Her connection to mana also seemed to have come to an abrupt halt causing her to furrow her brows despite her closed eyelids.

Her brows were furrowed for only an instant before she quickly understood that it was she using my perception of the world to forcefully infuse mana into her body and awaken.

On her own her perception wasn’t as good as mine so when things settled and returned back to normal she found herself unable to sense mana as freely despite the fact that the mana was still present in the surroundings.

Her eyes remained closed for a long time before she finally opened them.

Her eyes seemed to have gained a new shade of color.

"Thank you, master."

Even though I wasn’t controlling her Evelyn still bowed respectfully.

I was slightly taken aback.

I expected her to attack me the moment she obtained her newfound powers.

But it seems she’d quickly accepted reality quite quickly.

It was impossible for her to defeat it.

She had also chosen strength over her marriage in the end.

’I’m sure it must have been a tough decision for you.’ I glanced at her eyes that were calm and without any ripples as she raised her head.

"What ability did you obtain?" I asked her curiously and Olivia stepped two steps backwards before stretching her finger.

Instantly the shadows in the surroundings began twisting faintly.

A few even wriggled like snakes and became physical entities. They curled at her fingertips and snaked across her body.

Olivia flicked her hand and the shadows twisted into sharp spikes. With another flick of her hand the shadows twisted once more taking the shape of a longsword.

"Impressive." I commented with a bright expression on my face.

Nicole was also dumbfounded by the sight.

If she hadn’t witnessed the entire process herself she would have assumed everything was too surreal. However she had witnessed everything perfectly.

She had confirmed for herself.

The man in front of her had the ability to grant others abilities.

How terrifying was that?

This was a normal world and he could create people with abilities from out of thin air?

A faint part of Nicole’s heart gradually began submitting to Lucien subconsciously.

She bit her lips slightly. She wanted an ability herself but didn’t know how to phrase her statement.

Besides she understood that it involved becoming the man’s slave which was something she didn’t know how to feel about.

"Attack me with your ability," the man’s voice interrupted her thoughts pulling her attention back to the reality of the two.

I stared at Olivia curiously as I asked her to attack me.

Olivia hesitated for a moment, "are you sure?"

I nodded and her expression changed almost instantly.

She no longer hesitated.

Her figure dissolved into the shadows and the shadows beside me twisted almost immediately.

Her attack happened in an instant however in my gaze an instant was too slow.

I could see her slowly vanishing into the shadows as her body dissolved.

I could even kill her in that instant but my curiosity got the best of me as I watched her enter into the shadows fully and appear beside me.

I slowly turned my head downwards to see her emerging from a ripple of shadow that had formed beneath me.

Her body gradually materialized as she stabbed toward me.

I tilted my head ever so slightly and the sharp blade condensed from shadows which she had formed pierced the air just beside my face rustling my hair faintly.

"Impressive attack." I commented with a smile.

Olivia stared at me with a stupefied expression unable to believe I had dodged her attack so casually.

I flicked my finger and the shadow broke off.

"Quite sturdy." I continued examining her attack and Olivia didn’t attack any further. She remained in the same position as I examined her shadow blade knowing that attacking any more was completely futile.

"It’s quite unique... can you change its material composition mid fight?" I asked curiously still holding the remnants of the sword in her hand.

"With more practice I think i’ll be able to." Olivia commented unsure herself.

"I see." I stepped backwards casually.

"Return back home for now, I’ll call you later tonight. We have somewhere to do." I said with a smile as I calmly walked out of the warehouse.

"Leave her there as well. I’m not done with her." I added not turning back.

Olivia bowed respectfully as she watched her master walk out.

She was curious what exactly he wanted from her tonight. She could only wait to find out.

She stretched her hand and a few shadows wriggled to life before picking up the scraps of metal which was the leftover of the food flask on the ground.

Carrying them along with her she exited the place.

Nicole had fallen into an eerie silence. No one could tell what was going through her mind.

Only when she heard the scraping sound and mechanical hiss of the door closing was she brought back to reality.

She sighed as the darkness engulfed her once more.

Olivia entered into her vehicle and drove off.
