Chapter 188: Chapter 181: Crushing the Sword Heart Ranking

She fell silent for a moment before speaking. "You’ve cultivated All Things Return to the Source?"

Within the Panshi Sect, only this Cultivation Technique could build such an incredible foundation.

Chen Yue nodded. "I redeemed it for my use before. I’ve made some recent progress."

The corner of Meng Yu Jin’s eye twitched. ’Some recent progress?’

She had also cultivated All Things Return to the Source in her youth and knew full well how difficult the technique was to master.

How could ’some recent progress’ possibly explain consolidating his foundation to such a degree in such a short time?

She even suspected that Chen Yue’s progress with All Things Return to the Source was nearing the Perfection Realm. Otherwise, the effect of unifying all his meridians and Inner Strength would not be so seamless and natural.

Meng Yu Jin took a slow, deep breath and then exhaled.

She raised her head and looked at Chen Yue intently, a new light in her eyes.

"Has your body been different from others since you were a child?"

Her voice was quiet, but her question was earnest.

For someone like Chen Yue to withstand such a large quantity of Elixirs in the Marrow Refining Realm and build such a solid foundation, it would be absolutely impossible without a Physique far beyond that of an ordinary person.

Chen Yue thought for a moment, then nodded.

"When I was a kid, I was a little stronger than other people, and tougher too. I also ate a lot of poisonous mushrooms and was always fine."

Upon hearing this, two Talents came to Meng Yu Jin’s mind: Copper Skin Iron Bones and Immune to Hundred Poisons.

Not everyone is the same.

Some are born with outstanding aptitude, their comprehension of Cultivation Techniques far surpassing the ordinary. Others have a peerless constitution, allowing them to achieve twice the results with half the effort in any technique they practice.

And some are simply ordinary, able to only just reach the starting line of others even after a lifetime of diligent work.

But in the world of Martial Artists, there exists an even more special type of person: those who are born having awakened Talents that others do not possess.

These Talents are entirely innate, etched into their very bones and blood.

Some are born with boundless strength, some are born Immune to Hundred Poisons, some are born with exceptionally keen senses, and some are born with incredibly resilient bodies.

In the Martial Arts Realm, this is known as having an extraordinary natural Talent. Every person who possesses one is considered one of fate’s chosen.

If Chen Yue truly was born with the two Talents of Copper Skin Iron Bones and Immune to Hundred Poisons, then everything would make sense.

His foundation was so solid thanks to the enhancement from Copper Skin Iron Bones, which allowed his body to more easily reach its peak during tempering.

He could consume so many Elixirs in a single day without fear of Erysipelas because his Immune to Hundred Poisons Talent broke it down and automatically expelled it from his body.

Meng Yu Jin stared at Chen Yue, a complex light flickering in her eyes for a long while.

"Are you certain you can break through to the Refining Organ Realm within a month?"

Chen Yue nodded. "I’m fairly confident."

Meng Yu Jin shook her head, her expression uncompromising. "Fairly confident isn’t good enough. You must break through to the Refining Organ Realm. You can’t give that disciple from the Liuyun Sword Sect a single chance!"

Her voice carried the firm seriousness of a master. The Life and Death Decision in a month was not a spar or a competition, but a true battle to the death.

If Chen Yue failed to reach the Refining Organ Realm, facing an opponent at the peak of that same realm—one who could break through to the Innate Realm at any moment—with only his Marrow Refining Realm Cultivation would be suicide.

She couldn’t let her disciple take such a risk.

Chen Yue smiled and nodded. "I won’t give him the chance."

"You’re consuming so many Elixirs every day. Are you short on Contribution Points? Do you just need Nourishing Spirit Pill Yang Pills and Bone Marrow Cleansing and Body Refining Pills? As your master, I will redeem them for you daily!" The concern and worry in Meng Yu Jin’s voice were clear.

Chen Yue smiled and waved his hand. "Master, there’s no need for now. I’m challenging the Cyan Cloud Ranking, and the Contribution Points I get from each victory are enough for my current cultivation needs."

Meng Yu Jin’s expression turned peculiar when she heard this.

His words sounded incredibly arrogant. Every challenge on the Cyan Cloud Ranking was a nerve-wracking ordeal.

Yet for Chen Yue, the ranking’s rewards had become a routine source for his cultivation resources.

However, having just seen the state of his foundation, Meng Yu Jin knew that Chen Yue had earned the right to be this arrogant.

"Master, for the Life and Death Decision next month, what if we hold it at the Liuyun Sword Sect?" Chen Yue asked suddenly.

"Why?" Meng Yu Jin asked, puzzled.

"After I’m done with Guan Duhai, I can keep fighting the others on the Sword Heart Ranking!" A smile spread across Chen Yue’s face.

Meng Yu Jin looked at Chen Yue, fell silent for a moment, and then couldn’t help but break into a smile.

...

Outside the Panshi Sect, a mountain path snaked like a serpent. The trees on either side cast dappled shadows in the afternoon sun.

Bei Sufang walked in front, his steps steady and unhurried, his dark gray robe fluttering slightly in the mountain breeze.

His hands were clasped behind his back, his gaze fixed on the road ahead, but a pensive light lingered in his deep-set eyes.

Guan Duhai walked at his side, his pace slightly faster than Bei Sufang’s, marked by the sharp eagerness characteristic of the young.

"Right now, we can’t be certain that Guan Duzhou died at the hands of that Chen Yue. We can only say he’s the prime suspect." Bei Sufang’s voice was low, as if speaking to himself as much as to Guan Duhai.

Guan Duhai nodded and turned to look at Bei Sufang. "I know."

He paused, his gaze returning to the road ahead.

"If we can’t find a bigger suspect, then he’s the one who did it!" Guan Duhai snarled.

Bei Sufang glanced at Guan Duhai. "That junior is not weak. Don’t be careless a month from now. Even a lion uses its full strength to catch a rabbit."

Guan Duhai chuckled softly at his words. He lifted his chin slightly, the mountain wind sweeping his hair back to reveal a face brimming with confidence.

"How could someone who entered the Cyan Cloud Ranking at the Marrow Refining Realm be weak? But while he might not be weak, I am stronger!"

Bei Sufang nodded, offering no objection.

He knew Guan Duhai’s strength. None of the top-ranking disciples on the Liuyun Sword Sect’s Sword Heart Ranking could be underestimated.

Guan Duhai was one of the best among them. He had held the eighth-place spot securely for a long time; challengers came and went, but none had been able to unseat him.

’Even if that Marrow Refining Realm disciple from the Panshi Sect breaks through within a month, how much progress can he possibly make?’

’Besides, while that junior is improving, is Guan Duhai just standing still?’

"That junior has significant future potential. Since we’ve already made an enemy of him, it’s better to kill him early. It will prevent the Panshi Sect from gaining another Innate Realm expert in the future."

He was a Sect Elder, and his position dictated his way of thinking. It was the duty of every Elder to eliminate future threats to their Sect.

The Panshi Sect already had a number of Innate Realm experts. For them to gain another exceptionally talented rising star like Chen Yue was not a good thing for the Liuyun Sword Sect.

Guan Duhai nodded, the smile at the corner of his mouth deepening.
