Perfecting a Cultivation Technique Every Day
Chapter 179 - 174: He Will Fall Hard
Chapter 179: Chapter 174: He Will Fall Hard
Meng Yu Jin’s chest hollowed slightly as she exhaled. Her abdomen tightened, and her back straightened. It was as if an invisible string was pulling her up from the crown of her head, making her posture tall and extended.
In the next instant, the Panshi Skill within her body began to operate at its absolute limit.
Inner Strength erupted from her Dantian like a bursting dam, surging through her meridians and instantly flooding her entire body.
Her bones vibrated, her muscles trembled. In that moment, her blood was ignited, activated, and pushed to its very limits.
In the next instant, Meng Yu Jin’s entire aura changed abruptly.
Her aura shifted from stable and profound to fiery and violent, like a volcano that had slumbered for millennia suddenly erupting, its lava shooting into the sky and its ash blotting out the sun.
A halo of light appeared on the surface of Meng Yu Jin’s body. The halo grew brighter and more incandescent, as if a sun hidden within her was slowly beginning to rise.
Mo Ciqiu’s gentle smile vanished, replaced by an unprecedented gravity and focus.
Her eyes narrowed, and a sharp glint flashed in her pupils, like a keen blade suddenly drawn from its sheath, its edge bared for all to see.
Her Heart Spirit instantly spread throughout the entire courtyard.
She knew Meng Yu Jin had begun her breakthrough. From now on, Meng Yu Jin’s Heart Spirit would be completely immersed in the struggle against the Innate Barrier, and her perception of the outside world would drop to a minimum.
And what she needed to do was protect Meng Yu Jin and ensure that no one disturbed her.
Mo Ciqiu sat on the meditation cushion, her figure motionless. Her gaze fell on Meng Yu Jin’s face, which was slightly flushed from channeling her Cultivation Technique at full force. A complex emotion flashed in her eyes.
There was anticipation, worry, trust, and a silent prayer: ’You have to succeed.’
In the Quiet Chamber, Meng Yu Jin’s aura grew stronger and more incandescent, like an expanding flame about to break through its final restraints.
Chen Yue paid no mind to the disturbances of the outside world. His rhythm was simple: cultivate, and then cultivate some more.
The next day, the morning sun squeezed through the cracks of the window lattice, and specks of dust floated slowly in the beams of light.
Chen Yue sat on the edge of his bed, having organized the items in his Storage Space. Finally, his gaze fell on the silver-white ring on the table.
This was the Storage Ring left behind by Xu Jichuan. Chen Yue picked up the ring, weighed it in his hand, then stood up and walked out of the room.
He was going to the Affairs Hall.
The hall was a bit livelier than it had been yesterday. Several disciples were at the counter handling business, talking in low voices.
Chen Yue didn’t linger at the entrance and walked straight to the counter that handled item exchanges.
The On-Duty Disciple, dressed in the distinctive cyan changshan of the Affairs Hall, looked up at the sound of footsteps. A smile appeared on his face when he saw Chen Yue.
"Senior Brother Chen, what can I help you with?"
Chen Yue took the silver-white Storage Ring from his sleeve and placed it on the counter.
The ring rolled a little on the wooden surface of the counter with a soft clatter, then stopped.
"How many Contribution Points can I get for this Storage Ring?"
The On-Duty Disciple looked down at the ring, picked it up, and examined it from all angles. This was not the design of a Panshi Sect Storage Ring.
The Panshi Sect’s Storage Rings had mountain and rock patterns carved on their surface, giving them a coarse and heavy feel. The two styles were completely different and could be distinguished at a glance.
"I can’t appraise this," the On-Duty Disciple said, putting the ring down and standing up. "I’ll go get Master Lin Fengchun to take a look. He’s very experienced in these matters and can give you an accurate price."
Chen Yue nodded and waited quietly at the counter.
The On-Duty Disciple turned and walked toward the stairs in the back of the hall. The rhythmic THUMP, THUMP, THUMP of his footsteps on the wooden stairs gradually faded away.
A moment later, the sound of two sets of footsteps came from the stairs. The On-Duty Disciple descended first and stepped to the side, followed by a middle-aged man in his forties.
Lin Fengchun was of medium height and wore a dark gray robe. He had a few fine lines at the corners of his eyes.
Chen Yue cupped his hands in a formal gesture. "Master Lin!"
Lin Fengchun glanced at Chen Yue and gave a slight nod in return.
He didn’t say anything more. His gaze shifted from Chen Yue to the silver ring on the counter.
He reached out, picked up the ring, and brought it close to his eyes. He then rubbed the surface with his thumb, feeling the depth of the patterns and the quality of the casting.
"From the Flame Palace?" he asked, his voice low.
Chen Yue nodded. "Yes."
The corners of Lin Fengchun’s mouth lifted into a slight smile, deepening the fine lines by his eyes and lending him a warmer demeanor.
"Not bad,"
Lin Fengchun nodded. "Fighting outsiders takes real skill. What’s the point of just bullying your own?"
As he spoke, Lin Fengchun closed his eyes, his Heart Spirit slowly probing the ring’s interior.
The Storage Ring’s internal space wasn’t large. A moment later, he opened his eyes and looked at Chen Yue.
"For a Spirit Soldier of this grade, the sect’s buy-back price is typically between one thousand and twelve hundred Contribution Points,"
Lin Fengchun’s tone reverted to a business-like flatness. "You got this from the Flame Palace. It’s in good condition, and the Array Patterns inside are undamaged. I’ll give you twelve hundred Contribution Points for it. How does that sound?"
’Twelve hundred? That’s the highest possible price.’
"Thank you, Master Lin!" Chen Yue said, cupping his hands, his voice filled with sincere gratitude.
Lin Fengchun waved his hand dismissively. He handed the ring to the On-Duty Disciple with a simple instruction, "Handle the transfer for him," then turned and walked toward the second floor.
The On-Duty Disciple took the ring, placed Chen Yue’s Waist Token on the Jade, and tapped its surface a few times.
