“I am here to inquire about the status of the World-Ending Feast. May I ask when Your Majesty intends to initiate the event? After all… it has already been delayed by nearly twenty years.

His voice was cautious, his tone reverent. He did not even dare lift his head to glance at her expression, fearing that doing so would be an act of defiance.

Her voice was like frozen eternity, devoid of warmth, stripped of any emotion—absolute and unquestionable.

“Of course not!” Cassio jerked upright, his entire body shivering as he shook his head frantically. “I merely follow orders, Your Majesty. It is not just us—the other Void Courts also seek understanding regarding Your Majesty’s decision.”

From her throne, the Void Empress remained unmoved. Her flawless, inhumanly beautiful face showed no trace of emotion, but deep within her gaze, a flicker of longing surfaced.

The delay of the World-Ending Feast had only one reason.

Qin Xian.

Her only offspring—her continuation in this universe. The World-Ending Feast was an event where shattered world origins and divine energy were devoured, providing an opportunity for immense growth.

She turned her cold, indifferent gaze upon the kneeling Void Lord.

A moment later, endless chains of Deathly Silence surged from the shadows, entwining around Cassio’s form in an instant.

The air crackled with the sounds of screaming souls, the void itself seeming to wail in agony as the chains tightened.

Cassio barely had time to scream before his soul was forcibly extracted, his very essence devoured by the Void Empress.

Despite being a Void Lord, despite possessing centuries of accumulated power, despite having the favor of the Desire Overlord, Cassio had been erased in a single moment—with nothing but a glance.

Within the great hall, the other First Court Void Lords remained expressionless, though a slight twitch of their eyelids betrayed their unease.
