Peerless Medical Emperor

Chapter 380: New Mission

  • Next Chapter

A drone circled low over the bushes.

The scanned area instantly appeared on Qian Laoliu’s phone. He suddenly spotted several people hiding furtively in a patch of grass at the villa’s perimeter.

“Master, they’re hiding right there!”

Chen Qingdi turned to Chen Yuan. “Proceed according to the original plan.”

Although his drone was a civilian model that couldn’t be armed with machine guns or missiles, it was equipped with custom-made firecrackers and fireworks. These additions might not be highly lethal in actual combat, but against a small patch of grass, they were more than enough.

The small drone, carrying Magic Eggs and fireworks, flew to where the men were hiding, activated its electric ignition, and directly ignited a Magic Bullet.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Several Magic Bullets shot into the patch of grass, which instantly burst into flames.

The fire started a safe distance away from the thugs, but the terrifying sight was more than enough to startle them. The hidden men no longer dared to stay down; they leaped to their feet and sprinted away.

Chen Qingdi’s men were waiting outside, led personally by Lone Wolf and a team comprising ten of Chen Qingdi’s top experts.

In an instant, they had the schemers surrounded.

The blaze they had just started was immediately extinguished by a powerful jet of water from a firefighting drone that flew in right after.

The only damage was a one-square-meter pile of ash. No one was hurt, and no property was damaged.

The culprits were detained on the spot. Chen Qingdi arrived at the scene with Chen Yuan and Qian Laoliu.

The captured men were fierce and reckless fighters. Though some of them were injured in the process, they had inflicted heavy casualties on Chen Qingdi’s subordinates.

Without waiting for Chen Qingdi’s command, Chen Yuan jumped into the fray. Using the Flying Dragon Fist he had learned from Chen Qingdi, he blasted a punch toward one of the men.

This technique didn’t require physical contact; it could injure a target from a distance.

BAM! The man’s vision blurred. While he was dizzy and disoriented, one of Chen Qingdi’s men stabbed him in the thigh with a combat knife.

The rest were first struck by the Flying Dragon Fist, then wounded and captured by Chen Qingdi’s men.

This restraint was only because they were in Dragon Country, where they were bound by local laws and couldn’t kill anyone.

Had this encounter occurred elsewhere, that initial fire attack would have likely turned them all to ash.

After capturing the men, Chen Qingdi immediately ordered disciples from Yishen Island to treat their injuries. Once they were bandaged, they were sent to the base of the two War Gods, Bing Huo and Ding Huo.

The two War Gods were delighted to hear that the tricksters had been caught and the public panic they had caused was resolved. They promptly took the ringleaders to an interrogation room.

Because of the significant disturbance they had caused and their use of military-grade stealth equipment, their case was sent to a military tribunal.

The tribunal was staffed entirely by professional interrogators. Even without resorting to physical means, they could make anyone talk.

War God Bing Huo spoke up from the side. “Lord Imperial Physician, you’ve been enjoying a comfortable life lately. I was afraid you had forgotten all about your old friends.”

Chen Qingdi chuckled. “I’ve been in seclusion for many years, my friend. I’ve missed all of you. To be honest, my hands have been getting itchy. I feel like roughing up some enemies for fun. Do you have any particularly troublesome ones for me?”

The Ice and Fire War God smiled. “What’s your pleasure, my friend? We have pirates, mountain bandits, and even rooftop thieves.”

Chen Qingdi said, “I’m not a picky eater. If you’ve got pirates, I’ll take pirates. If you’ve got bandits, I’ll take bandits. And of course, I’d never turn away a good thief!”

Starfire War God moved his hand over a blue section of their nation’s territory on a map.

“See this small island? It’s the site of the legendary Xiake Island. Massive oil and gas fields have been discovered there, with reserves estimated at one trillion cubic meters. Some neighboring powers have their eyes on it and have repeatedly stirred up trouble. The island’s residents have suffered immensely. Our hands are tied at the moment. I was wondering if you’d be willing to take a trip there for us.”

Chen Qingdi frowned. “By myself?”

War God Bing Huo’s expression turned serious. “Your Medical God Island has people of all nationalities. Their direct involvement would be a highly sensitive issue. On the other hand, if we dispatch our own active Dragon Country personnel, it could trigger a massive international conflict.”

Chen Qingdi understood the unspoken message immediately. “You mean I should bring people with Dragon Country citizenship, keep their identities secret, use an elite team, and resolve the situation as quickly as possible.”

War God Bing Huo nodded. “Even if they’re affiliated with your Eisen Island, as long as they have Dragon Country citizenship, it’s fine. We can even include some special talents. With Long Shou’s approval, we can grant them honorary citizenship to help out temporarily. If they wish to become naturalized citizens afterward, we’ll give them priority consideration.”

In fact, upon accepting the mission, Chen Qingdi had already been thinking along these lines. ‘I have to send a few doctors from Medical God Island. After all, I don’t know how far this small-scale conflict will escalate or if there will be casualties.’

‘If medical personnel are needed, who could be more skilled than the doctors of Medical God Island?’

His reason for wanting to bring people with Dragon Country citizenship was not to assemble an armed force, but to bring along certain doctors with special skills.

Such individuals wouldn’t be politically sensitive. After all, no matter what faction you belong to, everyone gets sick and needs a doctor. It’s a neutral profession.

Chen Qingdi said to them, “I have two renowned psychologists on my team who specialize in treating war-related trauma. They’re both stateless but have heard of China’s strength and prosperity and wish to be naturalized. I wonder if that can be arranged.”

The War God chuckled. “My friend, you shouldn’t be telling me this. With your connections, wouldn’t it be better to speak directly with Lord Long Shou?”

Chen Qingdi gave a wry smile. “They haven’t made any contributions yet. If I go to him now, I won’t have a convincing argument for Long Shou, and I won’t know how he can justify it to others. My plan is to have them accompany me to save lives and heal the wounded. Once they have some accomplishments under their belts, won’t my request be much easier to grant?”

Chen Qingdi made a call and summoned two of his seniors from Medical God Island. One was named Sloan, and the other Dawa. Both were of mixed Chinese heritage and were currently stateless.

Both men were well-suited to lead a medical team within the military.

Their field of expertise was war-related trauma, and experts like them were in high demand, even in times of peace.

When these two men were reported to Long Shou, he was quite interested. After a discussion with several elders from the Elder Hall, a decision was made. The two would be granted the title of Honorary Citizen of Dragon Country, with the promise that they would be issued permanent residency upon completion of their mission on Xiake Island.
