Chapter 635 - The Last Bait.
Chapter 635: The Last Bait.
Sink, small dining table, urinal, vent…
This was the layout of the prison cells in Japan. If one didn’t walk in all the way from outside the iron gate, no one would think that this was a single cell for prisoners. The floor was made of wood, and was padded with mats. Although the area was less than ten square meters, it looked like an ordinary rental house.
In the corner, a man in his 40s was sitting there in prison uniform.
It was Kuroda Kiyotaka!
Suddenly, the door of the cell was opened, and Anpei, who was dressed in a suit and accompanied by Oshima Jun, walked in.
Kuroda Kiyotaka glanced at him and then went on reading as if he didn’t see anything.
“You are very leisurely. You actually took a fancy to Kafka. Do you want to learn from the protagonist and become a beetle to escape?” Anpei sat down opposite to him, and asked in a voice laced with sarcasm.
Kuroda Kiyotaka didn’t answer his question directly, but instead loudly summarized the contents in the book—
“Grigor found himself turned into a giant beetle, he was panicked and depressed. His father was furious when he found out, and drove him back to his bedroom. Grigor soon changed, and developed the living habits of beetles, but whilst still keeping a human’s consciousness.
He lost his job, but still cares about how to pay off his father’s debts and send his sister to the Conservatory of Music. However, a month later, he became a burden to the whole family, and his father, mother and sister changed their attitude towards him. In order to survive, the family had to work to earn money, and they couldn’t stand the burden of Grigor more and more.
Finally, one day, his sister drove her brother away. Grigor was hungry, sick and desperate. He thought of his family with deep affection and love, then his head fell to the floor, his nostrils breathed his last breath and died, while his father, mother and sister began to live a new life of supporting themselves.”
“You mean, you’re just like this Grigor?” Anpei sneered.
Kuroda lowered the book and looked up at him, “I care about this country and am willing to die for it. I know that once this biochemical research is exposed, I will come to a bad end. However, there must always be such a person who is one to take the first step, a pioneer, and lead this country to advance and become stronger.”
“Pioneer?”
Anpei laughed as he couldn’t help feeling that it was ridiculously funny. He then snatched the book in Kuroda’s hand and threw it on the ground. He stood up and stomped on it and didn’t stop until the book was entirely out of shape.
He pointed to Kuroda and shouted, “Why don’t you take a piss and take care of yourself. You call yourself a pioneer, but do you deserve it?”
“Our political views are different, and it is useless to continue this conversation. But I just want to ask one last question. If Shemei Guo Country came looking for you, would you have disagreed to create a biochemical base?” Kuroda Kiyotaka asked.
Anpei looked at him with his eyes slightly narrowed, frowning, and said nothing.
“You will agree, otherwise I wouldn’t be the only one being punished right now.” Kuroda said.
“You know me so well, it seems that you have really ‘looked after me’.” Anpei’s eyes were full of hostility.
Kuroda Kiyotaka smiled and said, “The one who knows his opponent best will emerge victorious.”
“But you have lost your qualification as my opponent.” Anpei stood up and smugly looked at him like a WINNER looking down at a LOSER. “In addition, I must correct what you said just now. Not only are you sanctioned, but all the people associated with the biochemical base are dead except you.”
What? They are all dead?
Kuroda Kiyotaka’s lost his calmness, “You… did you do it?”
Anpei snorted softly, “Use your pig brain and think about it. You know that it wasn’t me.”
“Then who is it?” Kuroda Kiyotaka asked urgently.
“The thousand-faced killer Xiao Han.” Anpei answered.
Kuroda Kiyotaka felt the name to be a stranger but he also faintly felt that this iwass related to the person who destroyed the biochemical base.
“He is a super soldier sent by China. He knows how to change his face, meaning his face is ever-changing. We originally thought that he could be identified by fingerprints, but he can use other people’s prints by peeling off the skin off their finger pads. Unless we have a DNA test, no one can tell whether it will be him standing in front of you.”
“Did he kill everyone?” Kuroda Kiyotaka’s eyes flashed with fear.
Anpei said, “All but Plateau Qing died in his hands. Plateau Qing gave up on himself and committed suicide by taking sleeping pills after accompanying his daughter for three days.”
“Then what are you doing here?”
Kuroda Kiyotaka was no longer calm. “I don’t think that you will be kind enough to send troops to protect me.”
“You are the last one and will be the last bait. I believe that he will definitely come here and stand in front of you. At that time, you, as well as all the people in this prison, will die with him and complete your punishment.” Anpei grimly said.
Die?!
Kuroda Kiyotaka’s body trembled, he stood up and involuntarily shouted, “Anpei, what are you doing? What exactly do you want to do? I still need to be judged by the court. You have no right to judge me. I am the Deputy Prime Minister of Japan. You have no right to judge me!!!”
“Kuroda-san, don’t be silly. Just enjoy reading your book. I only came to say goodbye to you today.” Anpei smiled and waved his hand to Oshima Jun next to him.
“Oshima-san, we should go.”
“Hai!” Oshima Jun nodded and followed him respectfully.
At the thought of being crushed to pieces, meaning, to have to die in this prison together with the thousand-faced killer, Kuroda Kiyotaka found it more and more difficult to control himself. He thought that he would be sentenced to life imprisonment at most, and he could still live leisurely here. That was why he was able to remain relaxed, reading books and newspapers. But now, that wonderful fantasy suddenly exploded, and Anpei would really let him die.
“Anpei come back here and let this boss fight you!” He shouted at Anpei and rushed up.
Oshima Jun’s eyes slightly narrowed. He then kicked Kuroda Kiyotaka’s chest.
“Ah~”
With a scream, Kuroda Kiyotaka flew backward and crashed into the urinal. His face touched the urinal intimately, and his round glasses were broken in the process. He was in a mess.
“Kuroda-san, you should just honestly wait here like the bait you are.”
Anpei waved at him, smiled coldly and then left without looking back. “Give him a new pair of glasses.”
“Hai.” Oshima Jun nodded.
