“Although I won’t kill you to silence you, conveying such important matters to you demonstrates my trust in you!” Tong Yao laughed.

Ye Luo paused, “We’ve only met a few times, and you trust me like this?”

“A woman’s sixth sense!” Tong Yao smiled mysteriously.

Ye Luo naturally wouldn’t argue this matter with her.

Afterward, Ye Luo would cultivate at intervals, while Tong Yao handled documents beside him.

The company naturally had regular work hours. Initially, Tong Yao planned to have lunch with Ye Luo, but something came up, giving Ye Luo the chance to visit Luo Xue and Shadow.

Back at the villa, Shadow and Luo Xue were already in the living room—Luo Xue was still watching TV, while Shadow seemed anxious, displaying a rarely seen expression, indicating news about the King of Huainan.

“Senior, any news?” Ye Luo quickly approached.

Seeing Ye Luo, Shadow sighed, “The situation is troubling. I previously went to gather information, but only caught a glimpse confirming the Prince was alive. Today, I happened upon some useful information—the Prince is still within Zhongzhou Group’s forces, yet they intend to use him for some experiment! That’s what makes me furious!”

Ye Luo understood; Shadow naturally knew what the experiment entailed. For the high-standing Prince in the third power to become a mere test subject in the City of Technology, no wonder Shadow was enraged.

The city’s surface suggests cultivators can coexist peacefully with ordinary people, but the city’s powers don’t refrain from targeting cultivators, especially those of high realm.

It seems the city attracts cultivators, with Crystal Stone as one aspect. These cultivators essentially offer free experimental materials for the city.

“I’ve heard of Zhongzhou Group; rumors say it’s scarier than the city’s rulers, being one of the top figures here. We absolutely cannot act rashly, or else, if we are captured by the Zhongzhou Empire, there will be no hope!”

Shadow’s expression was grim, yet he hadn’t lost his sanity. Upon hearing Ye Luo’s words, he nodded slowly.

“Rest assured, I understand the boundaries. Moreover, it’s said that the experiment is lengthy, so at least for a few months, the Prince’s life won’t be in danger!” Shadow remarked.

However, Ye Luo was puzzled. Back then, the King of Huainan sought help from Zhongzhou Group due to a virus, meaning the King volunteered for the experiment. Who is the King of Huainan? An old fox indeed. Although he cared for the Demon Realm back then, he wasn’t likely to face loss. It’s highly possible there are hidden motives.

“What’s your plan?” Ye Luo suddenly asked.

“Here, a cultivator’s personal strength is greatly weakened. Naturally, I seek forces to cooperate and rescue the King of Huainan!”

Ye Luo didn’t delve deeper; Shadow had lived for many years, garnering some influence. Moreover, the City of Technology isn’t entirely isolated from the outside world.

Ye Luo even suspected those major figures had a presence within the City of Technology.

But Ye Luo wasn’t concerned about this—he only wished to use the Transmission Array. As for the King of Huainan, he’d rescue him in passing. If saving him proved impossible, Ye Luo wouldn’t risk everything.

This was not due to lack of loyalty, but rather their complex relationship.

“Ye Luo, I plan to go into seclusion.”

After Shadow entered the room, Luo Xue directly said.

Ye Luo looked at her in confusion, not understanding why she’d suddenly retreat now.

“Heh heh, today I spent a large sum to buy something magical that can elevate my strength to a new level!” Luo Xue declared mysteriously.

Ye Luo gazed at her doubtfully; in the City of Technology, items suitable for cultivators were scarce.

Luo Xue then pulled out a small vial from her pocket, containing a vibrant green liquid.

“This supposedly called Gene Potion can boost one’s body’s potential, precisely to advance my Body Refinement Realm by a level!”

As a Sword Cultivator, Body Refinement was a necessary stage for Luo Xue.

Ye Luo hadn’t encountered Gene Potion before and didn’t know of its potential downsides, but seeing Luo Xue’s determination to go into seclusion, he refrained from persuading her.

The cultivation path is one only an individual can choose; even the closest person cannot interfere, something Ye Luo understood well.

The other guards were left for Luo Xue to use as protectors, so Ye Luo could be at ease within Tong Yao Group.

Tong Yao Group was a significant force, chiefly military-focused. Ye Luo wanted to inquire about the Transmission Array.

The next morning, Ye Luo arrived at Tong Yao’s office, but she hadn’t arrived yet. Ye Luo thought for a moment, resolved to present himself as an assistant, and proactively started cleaning the room, knowing she didn’t prefer using mana, cleaning with his own strength instead.

By the time Tong Yao arrived at the office, the room looked brand new.

“You’ve put your heart into it!” Tong Yao forced a smile; clearly, she was troubled.

“Encountered a problem?” Ye Luo asked with a smile.

Tong Yao sighed, “There are problems every day; it’s nothing!”

Ye Luo understood—in such a grand industrial empire, encountering issues is inevitable.

“The situation is a bit special, the mecha department must be established immediately; you might have to exert some effort!” Tong Yao suddenly said.

Ye Luo hesitated, “What do you need me to do?”

“There’s a laboratory ready for the mechas, no need to worry about that. But we need people to operate the mechas, and that’s up to you for training! Those who took assessments with you are naturally mecha operators, but it’s not enough. We plan to produce twenty mechas in the first batch! You’ll need to find at least twenty operating personnel!”

Ye Luo frowned; twenty mechas don’t sound like much, but they’re more destructive than Ultra Combat Robots. What’s Tong Yao Group planning with so many mechas? He didn’t believe the group was selling mechas—who could afford them, and who would dare?

Nonetheless, Tong Yao didn’t explain, and Ye Luo wouldn’t ask further.

“To find suitable candidates, why not recruit some cultivators!” Ye Luo suggested.

Tong Yao shook her head, “We’ve considered that; however, doing so would place Tong Yao Group under great pressure. After all, unlike you, we can’t provide them a new identity! The city’s attitude towards cultivators is unique, you should understand that!”
