Chapter 2574: Chapter 2575: Return to Tianyun (141)

On this day, it was the fourth day Su Xing and Taoming Ye were staying at the Royal Palace, and Su Muchen and Su Muye came.

Although Su Muye was a Prince, one was a Princess, and the other was a Prince Consort, and Su Muye was considered their cousin. A slight bow was sufficient, with no need for further formalities, but Su Muchen was different. Su Muchen was the Emperor, so Su Xing and Taoming Ye had to kneel in accordance with protocol.

However, being stared at intently by An Jing, Su Changyi, Su Yi Jing, Su Yixing, An Yiqing, An Yiyun, An Yiqi, An Yilin, and An Yizhi, with overtly threatening expressions, how could Su Muchen dare let Su Xing and Taoming Ye kneel? He quickly helped them up before they could kneel.

"In the future, don’t kneel. Didn’t you see how my Royal Uncle, Royal Aunt, and seven cousins were all staring at me intensely? If I let you kneel, they definitely won’t let me off easily." Su Muchen said straightforwardly.

This revealed the close and cordial relationship between the Royal Family and the imperial family.

Not needing to kneel, Su Xing was very happy.

Taoming Ye was a bit surprised and somewhat apprehensive, but having gotten used to it over the past few days, he quickly accepted that he didn’t have to kneel to the Emperor.

Su Muchen continued with a smile: "I’m already quite afraid of one Royal Uncle. With everyone watching me, I’m even more scared. So, as long as it’s in private, there’s no need for you to kneel. Besides, Yi Jing and the others have never knelt before me, and haven’t they been living just fine?"

Upon hearing this, everyone laughed.

Even the usually expressionless Su Changyi slightly curled his lips.

"It’s just..." Su Muchen was a bit troubled, "Now that Xin’er is my Imperial Cousin, what kind of position should I give her? Originally, I wanted her to join the military camp as a Chiliarch since she is the Martial Champion, but now, being a Chiliarch feels a bit beneath my cousin."

Seeing that Su Muchen truly had a good relationship with her parents and didn’t treat her as an outsider, Su Xing cheerfully replied: "Mu Cheng Bro, you don’t need to give me a position. I don’t want to hold a position. Initially, I took the Martial Champion exam to become an official, but I had a purpose. My husband is in poor health, and I wanted to become a high-ranking official so I could ask Second Brother Star to treat him."

Su Muchen immediately looked regretful: "You really don’t want to hold a position? Maybe you should reconsider. You are a great talent and now a Princess, which means you should serve the country more."

Su Xing replied honestly: "My husband is in poor health. I really don’t want to hold a position now, but maybe when he recovers, I might ask Mu Cheng Bro for a position."

Su Muchen immediately asked with a smile: "When will Míngyè’s health improve? Did your second brother examine him?"

"Yes, but it will take half a year to treat him."

"Well, if he recovers and you want to hold a position, be sure to come to me."

"Okay." Su Xing agreed readily.

Su Muchen then asked: "What illness does Míngyè have?"

Su Xing didn’t answer immediately but looked at An Jing. Seeing An Jing nod, indicating she could speak, she then mentioned her husband’s poisoning and, naturally, also mentioned Mrs. Cao.

Su Muchen’s expression turned serious, "If it really was done by Mrs. Cao, it is truly vicious. Xin’er, rest assured that once you have evidence, I’ll have the Ministry of Justice thoroughly investigate the matter immediately."

Currently, without evidence, it’s not appropriate to send people to investigate, lest it gives people the chance to criticize.

Su Xing said: "Then thank you, Mu Cheng Bro."

Taoming Ye, not daring to address Su Muchen as Mu Cheng Bro, simply said: "Thank you, Emperor."
