Chapter 502:Laying Trap

Chapter 502:Laying Trap

“Is this even alright?”

“There won’t be any problem, right?” Wales asked in shock as he looked at the arrangement in front of him. His hands were slightly trembling as he held one of the scrolls. He then turned toward Randall, who was already on edge.

“Arghh!”

“How can I know? I am not a mage, for God’s sake,” Randall shouted in frustration, running his hand through his hair.

Ethan had given them a few scrolls and asked them to set everything up, but they were not even sure if they were doing it correctly.

The biggest problem was that they did not have a proper mage with them, and Ethan had already forgotten about the team he had assembled. If he knew the situation right now, he would have definitely cursed himself for being an idiot and so forgetful.

It seemed he really needed a photographic memory.

Meanwhile, the team struggled with the setup. Some scrolls were placed incorrectly, and the glowing runes on the ground flickered unstable.

Wales, who was looking around anxiously, suddenly paused.

At the same time, they could hear a frantic, heart-wrenching roar along with loud blasts and explosions echoing from the other side of the mountain range. The sound alone made their hearts tighten with shock and horror.

Wales clenched his fists.

Then, from behind a rock, a small creature slowly appeared.

It looked like a tiny lizard, but its body had faint lava-like patterns, and its eyes glowed slightly. It resembled a miniature dragon.

Before anyone could react, Randall instinctively raised his weapon, but Wales stopped him.

“Wait…”

The small lava lizard chirped softly.

Wales frowned slightly, then focused on it.

“What is it saying?” Randall asked, lowering his weapon but still cautious.

“It’s saying that it can help us, but for that it wants us to promise to take it out of here,” Wales replied after a brief pause.

“It wants protection, right?” Randall asked.

Wales nodded.

“Then just promise it.”

Wales crouched down slightly and looked at the small creature.

“Alright… we promise,” he said in a calm voice.

The lava lizard chirped again, as if satisfied, and then quickly moved forward.

It began guiding them.

It tapped certain spots on the ground with its tiny claws, and the runes there started to glow more steadily. It nudged some scrolls into better positions and even scratched symbols into the ground to complete missing parts.

Wales followed closely, placing the scrolls as directed. His movements became faster and more confident as the structure of the formation started making sense.

He had many questions in his mind, but there was no time to ask them now.

Meanwhile, back on the battlefield.

“Give up, and I may grant you a quicker death.”

With absolute advantage, Volcanus spoke coldly. His huge dragon eyes were filled with greed as he stared at Ethan.

Hearing this, Ethan let out a slow breath, his eyes still calm.

“…You really think this is enough?”

Instead of replying further, he suddenly released a fierce fire breath at close range.

Boom!

The flames exploded against Volcanus’ face, forcing him slightly back.

At the same time, Ethan’s communicator rang, signaling that everything had been prepared.

“Great…” his eyes lit up slightly with relief and satisfaction.

Taking this chance, Ethan immediately turned and fled, his figure flashing as he moved rapidly into the distance.

“Running now?”

“You cannot escape me.”

Enraged and greedy, Volcanus would not let his prey escape. Without hesitation, he chased after Ethan at full speed.

The two moved like streaks of fire across the sky. One chased, and one fled.

Soon, they arrived near a broken volcanic mountain range.

Ethan’s eyes flickered slightly.

This was the place he had prepared.

Under his controlled breathing and steady movements, Volcanus followed without noticing anything unusual. Blinded by anger and greed, the ancient dragon entered the area without any defense.

As Ethan appeared at the center, he felt the connection activate beneath him. The formation responded to his presence.

He glanced once and confirmed that everyone had retreated safely.

Then he raised his hand and snapped his fingers.

“Now.”

A sharp gleam flashed in Ethan’s eyes.

Without hesitation, he activated the magic formation he had arranged earlier.

The hidden magic array within the space suddenly appeared. Layers of glowing patterns spread out rapidly, forming a massive seal that covered the entire area.

In an instant, the surroundings turned into a confined space. A powerful force descended and suppressed Volcanus’ movements.

At the same time, multiple high-level magic formations activated together.

[Arcane Thunder Blast.]

[Blood Boiling Blast.]

[Ray of Obliteration.]

The scrolls lit up one after another and detonated, releasing the stored spells.

Beams of destructive energy shot out from different directions, striking Volcanus simultaneously.

“Roar!”

Volcanus could not dodge in time. The attacks slammed into his body one after another, explosions covering his massive form. Flames, lightning, and destructive energy collided, causing continuous blasts.

Even for him, this caused real damage. His roar shook the sealed space. But it did not end there.

From beneath the lava, a massive molten construct rose. A humanoid lava entity formed from compressed magma surged upward and slammed onto Volcanus’ back.

It raised its gigantic fist and smashed down.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Each strike carried immense force. Fueled by Ethan’s control and the accumulated pressure of the battlefield, the attacks were relentless.

However, Volcanus was not so easy to kill.

Even after taking multiple heavy hits, his body still held strong. His scales cracked in places, and blood mixed with lava flowed, but his aura only grew more violent.

His injuries triggered his ferocity.

“You think tricks like this can bind me?”

“You will regret this.”

With a furious roar, Volcanus unleashed his full power. The flames around him surged violently as he broke free from the confinement with brute force.

The seal trembled and then shattered.

He rose and violently threw the lava construct off his body.

At this moment, Ethan stood outside the edge of the formation, watching closely, his chest rising as he monitored everything.

Volcanus’ burning eyes swept around, but he could not immediately locate Ethan.

With nowhere else to vent his rage, he turned back toward the magic construct.

“Then I will destroy everything you control.”

“Roar!”

“Damn..”Ethan cursed and channeled his mana to cast more spells, two massive attacks collided once more.
