Chapter 495: Kassandra Inner Feelings

Chapter 495: Kassandra Inner Feelings

Kassandra’s days had changed completely.

The once cold and ruthless demoness assassin now lived a life that felt almost unreal to her. The sharp tension that had once filled every moment of her existence had slowly faded, replaced by something softer, something quieter.

Her day usually began early in the morning.

She would wake up before most of the estate stirred and quietly begin tidying the halls and rooms. Her movements were smooth and efficient, trained from years of discipline, but now they carried none of the killing intent they once had.

Instead, there was calmness.

After finishing her tasks, she would often cross paths with Ethan’s wives.

Sophia would sometimes give her light instructions or simply nod in acknowledgment. Diana occasionally spoke to her about small things, and Lia and Mira would greet her casually as if she had always been part of the estate.

What confused Kassandra the most was their attitude. She had tried to kill their husband.Yet none of them treated her harshly.

There was no hatred nor any hostility.

Only normal, almost warm behavior. At first, she could not understand it.But over time, she stopped questioning it.

Then came the part of the day she never expected to enjoy.

The children.

They would run around the estate freely, their laughter echoing through the halls. And for some reason, they had grown especially fond of her.

“Mother Kassandra! Carry me!”

“Me too!”

Before she could even respond, a few of them would already climb onto her. Some grabbed her hands.

Others climbed onto her back.

And a few mischievous ones would even tug at her horns while laughing.

“Don’t pull…” she would scold them angrily yet for some reason she seems to like it.

One of the smaller children sat on her shoulders, holding onto her horns like reins.

“Faster!” the child shouted happily.

Kassandra paused for a moment. Then, slowly, she moved.

But steady enough to make them laugh.

For someone who once moved through shadows to take lives, this felt strange yet not  unpleasant.

Compared to her days in the Church of Darkness, this life felt like a different world.

There, everything had been filled with brutality.Training that pushed her beyond limits.Missions soaked in blood.

Endless orders without question. There was no warmth nor any rest.

Only hatred and survival.

But here there was peace.

And somewhere along the way, without realizing it, her heart began to change.

And at the center of that change was Ethan.

At first, he was just her master.

The one who had defeated her.

The one who controlled her through the slave mark. But as days passed, her perception shifted.

She watched him.The way he spoke calmly to everyone. The way he carried himself without arrogance. The way he treated people, whether they were strong warriors or simple servants.

There was no difference in treatment between others and her.

Even when giving orders, his voice remained steady.

Firm.

But never oppressive.

To Kassandra, who had lived her entire life under strict commands and punishment, this felt… different.

Strange.

And slowly..

Attractive.

His gentle nature, his steady gaze and the quiet confidence he carried.

The way people naturally gathered around him.

All of it began to leave an impression on her.

One afternoon, while she was walking alone through the corridor, lost in her thoughts—

She heard a voice.

“Kassandra.”

She paused instantly.

Her body reacted before her mind could. She turned and hurried toward him.

Ethan stood a short distance away.

She stopped in front of him and bowed her head.

“Yes, my Lord,” she said.

Ethan looked at her for a moment.

Then, without saying much, he took out something from his storage.

A necklace.

It shimmered softly under the light, its design delicate yet elegant. A small gem rested at its center, glowing faintly with magical energy.

He extended his hand toward her.

“This is for you.”

Kassandra froze.

“For… me?” she asked, her voice slightly unsteady.

Her eyes remained fixed on the necklace. It was not something meant for a servant.

Not something someone like her would ever receive.

“You will look good in it,” Ethan said with a small smile.

Kassandra’s fingers trembled slightly as she looked at it.

“But… I am just a servant,” she said quietly.

Her voice carried hesitation.

Kassandra’s fingers trembled as she held the necklace.

Her gaze remained fixed on it, but her vision had already begun to blur. Something inside her chest tightened, and before she could stop it, a tear slipped down her cheek.

Ethan noticed it instantly.

His expression shifted slightly.

“…Kassandra?” he called, a bit surprised.

But she did not respond immediately. Instead, her shoulders began to shake, and another tear fell, followed by another. Her breathing grew uneven as she lowered her head, trying to control herself, but it was useless.

“Why…” her voice came out broken.

Ethan frowned slightly, clearly caught off guard.

“Why are you so kind to me…” she asked, her voice trembling.

More tears streamed down her face now, and she slowly looked up at him. Her eyes were red, filled with emotions she could no longer hold back.

“You imprisoned me… you turned me into your slave…” she continued, her voice cracking.

“But you didn’t kill me…”

Her hands tightened around the necklace as if holding onto something precious.

“You didn’t treat me like one either…”

Her words came out in fragments, but each one carried weight.

“You… you poisoned me with kindness…”

Ethan’s eyes widened slightly at her words.

Kassandra took a shaky step forward, her body trembling.

“And now… my heart…” she placed a hand on her chest.

“…it yearns for you.”

The last words broke whatever restraint she had left. She began crying openly now, her tears falling freely as she stood in front of him.

“I… I don’t understand it…” she whispered.

“But I can’t stop it…”

Ethan stood there silently for a moment, clearly flustered. This was not something he had expected. He exhaled slowly, trying to process what was happening.

“Kassandra…” he said, but his voice lacked its usual steadiness.

Before he could say anything else, she moved suddenly. Her hands grabbed onto his clothes as she stepped closer, closing the distance between them.

Ethan instinctively raised his hands, unsure whether to stop her or calm her, but he hesitated.

And in that moment Kassandra pulled herself up slightly and kissed him.

Softly, but firmly.

Her lips pressed against his, carrying all the emotions she had been holding back. Her hands trembled as she held onto him, as if afraid he might disappear.

Ethan froze.

For a brief second, his mind went blank.

He had faced battles, enemies, and countless dangers without hesitation, but this caught him completely off guard.

Kassandra did not pull away immediately. Her kiss was not forceful. It was desperate, gentle, and filled with longing she could no longer hide.

After a moment, she slowly broke away.

Her forehead rested lightly against his chest, and her breathing was uneven while her tears still continued.

“I… I don’t care what I am to you…” she whispered softly.

“A servant… a slave… anything…”

Her fingers tightened slightly on his clothes as if seeking reassurance.

“But please…”

“Don’t push me away…”

Her voice trembled even more as she spoke again.

“Please don’t keep me away… I want to be part of your family… I want to be loved too…”

She struggled to form her words properly, her emotions overwhelming her.

“So… please… make me a part of your life…”

Ethan remained still.

His expression slowly softened as he looked down at her. His hand, which had been frozen mid-air, finally moved slightly, hovering near her shoulder as he watched her cry against him.
