Chapter 404: Forthcoming Death

Chapter 404: Forthcoming Death

Before the weight of those words could settle, the world erupted as Amber moved. She did not step forward but surged as if space itself had given way beneath her feet. Her sword rose with her whole being behind it, and the silver light around her turned fierce and savage. It layered upon itself again and again until it looked like a crown of storms wrapped around a blade.

When she struck, it was not a clean or elegant motion but a wild and absolute release of will. Power screamed through the air and crushed everything in its path.

The forest that was already ruined was flattened even further as soil liquefied and stones were ground to dust. The shockwave rolled outward like a collapsing sky.

Damor barely managed to raise his sword in time as crimson flames flared in desperation. The two forces collided head on. The impact did not explode outward but instead pressed inward as if the world itself were being folded between them.

Damor felt his arms shake, and his feet dug deep trenches into the ground as he was driven back step by step. His boots carved through earth and rock while his muscles screamed under the pressure. His flames sputtered and warped under the overwhelming silver tide.

The sound that followed was not thunder but a deep tearing groan, as if the land itself were being ripped apart.

When the force finally burst free, Damor was flung backward across the battlefield. His coat was shredded, and blood sprayed from his mouth as he slammed into the far edge of the ruined forest and skidded to a halt at the brink of a broken ravine.

Amber stood at the center of the devastation with her sword still raised. Her aura raged like an untamed storm around her body. Her breathing was ragged, and her face was pale, but her eyes burned with unyielding resolve.

In that moment, Damor knew with chilling clarity that he had misjudged her resolve, and that this strike had pushed him to the edge not by skill alone but by a will so fierce it was willing to burn itself to ash rather than fall.

Damor’s words caused a ripple in everyone’s heart. The weight behind his voice was heavy, and it pressed down on the battlefield like an unseen force. Ray and Florence both turned their heads at the same time, their eyes landing on Amber. Their gazes were filled with worry, and their bodies stiffened as if they could already sense what was about to happen.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Loud sonic booms erupted one after another as Amber moved with full force. She slashed countless times in a single breath, pouring everything she had into that limited moment. Every strike was sharp and ruthless, and every movement carried desperation and fury. Her blade screamed through the air, leaving behind blurred afterimages as she used every skill at her disposal without holding anything back.

Damor reacted instantly. He pulled himself into a defensive stance, his muscles tightening as he tried to stay clear-headed. His focus narrowed as he blocked, dodged, and retreated when needed.

He was not thinking about winning. He knew that right now, survival was everything. He just needed to endure this round, no matter how painful or exhausting it became.

“Damor, hold on. You need to hold on. I can’t lose.”

“My pride can’t be lost.”

Damor’s eyes burned with a strong flame of conviction. Sweat rolled down his face, and his teeth clenched as Amber’s attacks crashed into him again and again. Each impact sent shockwaves through his body, but he refused to fall. His breathing grew heavy, yet his stance did not break.

Amidst the chaos of their fight, Rayon watched with wide eyes and a twisted expression. His fists trembled as he cursed under his breath, with anger and disbelief mixing together.

“Those two are fucking crazy,” Rayon muttered, his voice shaking. “Both of them.”

His gaze darted around, and his mind raced as he tried to think.

“No, I need to do something.”

He took a step forward and then stopped, hesitation flashing across his face.

“Should I attack her? No. At such a state, she would go crazy and self-destruct, and I would be done for. I just need to make her more crazy and run until her life diminishes.”

As this thought settled in his mind, Rayon moved. His footsteps were quick and deliberate, and his eyes locked onto a new target. His goal was Ray.

The moment Amber sensed the shift, her expression changed. Her slashes faltered for just a fraction of a second as her eyes widened. Panic and rage collided within her chest. Without thinking, she turned and tried to run, her body reacting on pure instinct.

“Where are you running away?” Damor shouted.

His voice thundered across the battlefield as he lunged forward and attacked. His strike was fierce and unrelenting, forcing Amber to block at the last moment. The impact caused her aura to flare violently, sparks of energy bursting outward as her emotions spiraled out of control.

“What did you mean by that?” Amber shouted, her voice trembling with fury as she pushed back.

“Aren’t you talking about pride? What pride is this?”

Her eyes burned red as she spoke, and her grip on her weapon tightened until her knuckles turned pale.

“My pride belongs to me, and it’s got nothing to do with him. How can I allow someone to ignore me?”

Damor roared as he tried to block her renewed assault. His arms shook under the pressure as Amber went completely crazy, her attacks growing more reckless and more violent. Each clash echoed like thunder, and the ground beneath them cracked under the strain.

Meanwhile, Ray and Florence stood frozen in place, their attention suddenly ripped away from the fight. A chilling presence washed over them, and both of them felt their blood turn cold. Slowly, they turned their heads.

Rayon had appeared right in front of them.

His face was twisted with killing intent, and his eyes were locked onto Ray like a predator staring at its prey. The air around him felt sharp and suffocating.

“Dieeeeee.”

The word tore out of his throat as he moved his arm. In a swift motion, a sharp rapier appeared in his hand, its blade gleaming with a deadly light. Without hesitation, he thrust forward.

Swosss-
