Chapter 327:Painless Death
Chapter 327:Painless Death
The nobles clenched their teeth. Even as their bodies weakened, they understood they had no choice.
If they delayed any longer, they would lose the ability to fight entirely.
“Kill them now!” someone shouted.
They erupted with full force, unleashing their strongest techniques without restraint.
“Thunderous Slash!”
“Blade Storm!”
“Earth Shattering Fist!”
In an instant, powerful attacks filled the hall. Lightning tore through the air. Blades of wind shredded pillars. The ground cracked and split apart as fists slammed down with terrifying force.
Half of the magnificent banquet hall was blasted into ruins.
At this point, no one cared if the palace remained standing.
Faced with such fierce counterattacks, the black-robed figures no longer held back.
They revealed their trump card.
“Abyssal Transformation.”
The next second, their bodies twisted violently.
Bones cracked and stretched. Flesh bulged and tore. Horrified screams echoed as their forms rapidly grew before everyone’s eyes.
Dark, slimy skin spread across their bodies. Tentacles burst out from their backs and sides, writhing and slapping against the floor. Their shapes became grotesque, resembling massive octopus-like monsters standing nearly eight feet tall.
A thick, suffocating aura of evil flooded the hall.
The transformation was complete.
Their power surged outward and increased many times.
The nobles’ strongest attacks slammed into these monsters but were effortlessly blocked or brushed aside. Blades bounced off hardened flesh. Spells dissipated against dark energy.
The monsters counterattacked immediately.
“Devouring Slash!”
“Evil Aura!”
Dark waves swept across the hall. Corrupt energy tore into weakened bodies. Nobles were thrown aside like broken dolls.
In mere moments, more than twenty nobles lay on the ground, bloodied and barely clinging to life.
Claira turned toward Ethan, her eyes sharp.
“Aren’t you going to act?” she asked.
“I will,” Ethan replied calmly. “But not right now. I have a bad feeling about this.”
“But they will die,” Claira said.
“So be it,” Ethan answered coldly.
“None of them are saints. Their wealth was built on the blood of slaves and innocents. Let them pay.”
“But you will be accused,” Claira said.
“That’s why I will act later,” Ethan replied. “I will play my part.”
With that, Ethan took Claira’s hand and began moving forward, clearly putting on an act as if he were finally joining the fight.
Seeing the situation spiral out of control, King Mark screamed in panic.
“Star Knights! Act now!”
SWOOSH!
The Star Knights appeared in flashes of light, rushing into battle. However, even they struggled. The abyssal power of the transformed monsters was overwhelming.
“Brother, what is this nonsense!” Albert roared, turning toward Calvin, who stood calmly amidst the chaos.
“Stop this!”
“I’m sorry,” Calvin replied softly. “I can’t.”
“Enough of this bullshit!” Karl roared.
He charged at Calvin and slashed with all his strength.
BANG!
The sword struck Calvin’s body.
For a brief moment, Karl thought he had succeeded.
Then his eyes widened in horror.
The wound on Calvin’s body closed instantly. Flesh knitted together as if nothing had happened. Karl tried to pull his sword back, but it was stuck.
A tentacle shot out and pierced straight through his abdomen.
“Bluerrgh!”
Karl spat blood.
“Brother!” Albert screamed.
Albert attacked desperately, sending a bolt of fire arrow at Calvin to free Karl. His strike blasted apart several tentacles, sending dark flesh flying.
Calvin was blown backward, his body cracking and exploding in places.
But then more tentacles erupted.
They whipped through the air and slammed into Albert, sending him flying across the hall.
Calvin turned his gaze toward Karl, who was hanging helplessly.
“My dear brother,” Calvin said softly, his voice filled with cold hatred. “Do you remember what you did to me at my coming-of-age ceremony?”
“What?” Karl gasped through bloody lips.
“You broke my arms,” Calvin continued calmly.
Dozens of tentacles surged forward, wrapping tightly around Karl’s body.
The next second, a horrific scream echoed through the hall.
Karl’s body burst apart in a spray of blood and flesh.
Silence fell for a brief, terrifying moment.
“Ahhhh!”
An invisible scream seemed to tear through the hall.
It was not a sound one could hear clearly, yet everyone felt it. A chill crawled up their spines as if death itself had brushed past them. Eyes slowly shifted toward the blood-soaked remains scattered across the floor.
Pieces of the Second Prince lay everywhere.
Flesh. Bone. Torn fabric.
The sight alone was enough to make seasoned nobles feel their stomachs twist.
Calvin calmly wiped the blood from his hand and turned toward the man who held the throne.
“He was your son,” he said lightly. “Your blood.”
He tilted his head and studied King Mark’s face.
“Father, I thought you would show some reaction,” Calvin continued. “But your face is still the same. Filled with foolishnesw.
King Mark’s legs gave way.
He trembled violently and fell to his knees, tears streaming down his wrinkled face. His lips quivered as he crawled toward Duke Monopolis and clutched his robe like a desperate child.
“Kill him!” the king screamed. “Kill that rebellious son!”
His voice cracked as he sobbed.
“Kill him, or he will kill me!”
Duke Monopolis stepped forward slowly and let out a long sigh.
“First Prince,” he said in a tired voice, “why didn’t you stay quiet and remain in your place?”
“This path only leads to death.”
“Ohhh?” Calvin whistled softly and waved his hand.
In the next instant, the air rippled.
Dozens of dark-cloaked figures appeared out of nowhere. Their presence was heavy, oppressive, and suffocating. Each one radiated terrifying power.
King rank.
Duke Monopolis’ eyes widened.
“So many,” he muttered. “Where did you pull them from?”
Calvin smiled faintly.
“You can’t sense them, right?” he said calmly. “They are marked by the Dark Father.”
“Unless you are a god or blessed by one, you won’t feel them.”
“Go,” Calvin said softly.
SWOOSH!
Several figures lunged toward Duke Monopolis at once.
His body blurred.
BOOOOM!
The roof shattered as figures clashed at terrifying speed. Shockwaves tore through the hall, collapsing pillars and ripping walls apart.
Seeing Duke Monopolis vanish from sight, King Mark screamed in despair.
“Bastard! Why did you leave me!”
“Protect me!” he howled. “Protect your king!”
16:36
Calvin ignored him and began walking forward, step by step.
“Austin… Baltar…” the king cried weakly. “Help me!”
“Save me!”
King Mark tried to stand and run, but his foot slipped on blood. He crashed to the floor, sobbing.
Austin was already locked in battle.
Seeing this, Austin gave Baltar a signal.
On the count of three, Baltar attacked in a burst of blinding light.
He appeared before Calvin and struck but..
With a casual flick of Calvin’s hand, Baltar was sent flying.
BOOOOM!
His body smashed through a wall and was hurled dozens of meters away, destroying everything in its path.
Calvin stopped before his father.
“Don’t worry, Father,” he said softly. “It will be quick.”
“I promise.”
He raised his hand.
Dark tentacles shot out, twisting and sharpening into needle-like points. They hovered inches from King Mark’s trembling body, ready to pierce him.
Then—
A heart-wrenching scream echoed through the ruins.
It was filled with sorrow, rage, and pain.
“Thanks but..” a cold voice said.
“I don’t think I can make your death painless.”
