Chapter 22 - Meeting With The Boss!
While Jay was busy making his preparations, 2 people finally arrived at one of the deepest parts of the South Zone, the District 2.
Specifically, a large warehouse which looked abandoned on the outside.
After a small check, both of them entered the warehouse, although on the outside it looked abandoned, the interior was just the opposite, resembling a large and well-maintained office with only a desk in the middle of the warehouse.
Behind this desk was a thin man who was wearing pants and a dress shirt as well as some glasses, his hair was a shade of gray and was pulled back, with only a small tuft sticking out in front, his face had a cold expression while he went through some papers he had on his desk.
If someone saw this scene, they would surely think it was a normal office worker, but in reality this person was the boss of Metal Body, a powerful rank (C) esper!
When he saw that two people had entered his office, the man left the paper he was reading on his desk and looked at them both, inspecting Taylor carefully before looking at Colt.
“Colt, it looks like you managed to find him, well done.” Said the man at the desk with a satisfied tone.
“It’s nothing, boss.” Colt replied humbly, not daring to act rude to the man with glasses.
“I assume you have a report for me, Taylor?”
“Y-Yes, boss.”
“Alright, Colt, leave us, you can go ask Lars for a bonus.”
“Thanks a lot, boss.”
After saying that, Colt left the warehouse, leaving the man with the glasses and Taylor alone..
“Get started, I want every last detail.”
“Y-yes.”
This way, Taylor began to explain everything that had happened the night before, although changing the fact that he had wanted to rob Noah and claiming that they were simply talking when a stranger attacked him by surprise.
“Hmm…”
After listening to Taylor’s summary, the chief began to think about who might have been the attacker.
‘Uses a metal bat… knows a martial technique and can throw worms…what an unusual combination.”
With these factors and the attacker’s fighting style described by Taylor, the boss was able to discover a few things.
First, the attacker didn’t have a high attacking power, which is why he needed a metal bat and a surprise attack to defeat Taylor.
Second, although he knew a martial technique, he was not a pugilist, otherwise, he would not have used a metal bat against Taylor, his fists would have been enough.
Third, the part about him being able to throw worms and get them into the enemy’s body…he had to inspect this closely.
“Get closer.” Said the boss as he got up from his seat and walked over to Taylor.
Taylor simply did as he was told.
The boss then began to inspect Taylor’s physical condition, although his esper ability was not useful for this, being a rank (C) super, all his senses had improved enormously, making him able to see and notice things that others could not at first glance.
‘…There are no signs of small injuries on his body…just bruises…is he lying…?’ thought the boss after seeing Taylor’s body.
If a worm had gotten under his skin, the boss thought there would at least be small wounds where they had entered, however, he couldn’t find anything like that, so the possibility that Taylor was lying to him appeared in his head.
‘No, I don’t think so.’
But he quickly denied that idea because Taylor had no reason to lie, which led him to think of something else.
Illusion.
Although it was unusual, there were espers and mages who had the ability to create illusions to deceive their opponents.
‘But…it can’t be a mage…if it was, he wouldn’t have needed to attack Taylor from close range, so…it has to be an esper…and while there are no esper with that skill in Wolf’s Fang, I can’t rule out the possibility that maybe is a new member… ‘
Because the few espers that belonged to Wolf’s Fang were quite strong, the boss had collected information about them so that normal Metal Body members would not confront them if they met one.
Although the worst case scenario would be that the attacker was a new member of Wolf’s Fang, at least in that case the reason would be more or less clear, he beat up Taylor to let Metal Body know that the newer member of Wolf’s Fang was stronger than a normal Metal Body member, although it seemed like an idiotic reason, it wasn’t the first time they did it.
However, if the attacker was a person unrelated to Wolf’s Fang, that was even more unlikely, after all, what was the reason he attacked a Metal Body member?
Just for some money and a smart watch? Was it worth coming all the way to the South Zone to steal those things?
Or was it someone who had a problem with Metal Body?
Maybe the problem wasn’t Metal Body but Taylor?
With the personality he had, it was obvious he would have some enemies.
Maybe it was just a kid with a hero complex who wanted to prove his strength by defeating some thug?
‘Haaa, how annoying.’ thought the boss, looking at Taylor.
“…Hm?”
Right at that moment, the boss noticed something else about Taylor, although his appearance was terrible due to his injuries and tiredness, there was something else that caught his attention, his face was a little different than usual…almost as if…he had aged a little.
“…Take a few days off, make sure you get some rest.”
But he just took it as if Taylor just had a really bad night.
“Y-yes, boss, thanks.”
After Taylor left, the boss sat back down in his desk chair while letting out a sigh.
‘I’ll have to send someone to investigate this.” He thought before reading the paper he had left on the desk again.

After several hours, the sun had already set, Jay had been training all afternoon while waiting for the things he had bought to arrive.
However, now that it was night, he stopped training and entered his house to rest.
“I know it’s necessary but…I think I’ve spent more money these days than I have in the whole past month…” He said with a bitter smile.
Because he didn’t have much time, he had asked for the immediate delivery option, which cost considerably more, if we added up what he had paid Noah for the information and the price of the things he had bought, his savings had been hit hard.
“…Maybe I should start to rob the guys I infect…” He said while grabbing his chin.
After thinking that, he sat on one of the couches to watch TV and ask some questions to the system from time to time.
Because today was laundry day, most of his clothes were in the washing machine, so he was only wearing some grey sweatpants that he used when he worked out.
“Hm, I wonder what I should do for dinner…?”
*Bzz*
Just when he was thinking about whether to order pizza or make something quick, an alarm went off on his smart watch, indicating that the purchase he had made had arrived.
“Wow, that was fast.” Said Jay as he got up and headed to the entrance.

“Hm, hm~”
In one of the offices of Jujusen, one of the largest e-commerce companies of the world, a girl was watching several screens at once, each of these screens showed different drones carrying packages.
The girl had a special controller in front of her that could control several drones at the same time, which along with her esper skill, made it possible for her to focus on making different deliveries simultaneously.
Her appearance was that of a young woman of about 19-20 years of age, she was slim in build and had a rather attractive face that combined very well with the glasses and hood she was wearing.
Right now she was doing her job as usual while listening to some music and humming a little.
“Ho…” Said the girl while watching one of the screens, where appeared a couple kissing in a somewhat secluded place, not knowing that a drone was watching them.
Although this girl seemed normal, she actually had a rather strange hobby, which was…spying on people!
Obviously, Jujusen did not allow this kind of behavior, but the girl did it in such a way that the company did not suspect anything.
“The man is not so bad…” She said again with a smile on her face.
While her hobby was “spying”, if there were any good-looking guys, then she would be more than happy to pay a little more attention to them, in fact, she even had a folder of pictures of all the good-looking guys she had photographed in all her work time.
“Too bad I can’t get a good look at him because of the girl~”
She then stopped looking at that screen and focused her attention on the others, to see if there was something interesting happening.
“…Oh…?”
Just then, she saw something on another screen, a half-naked young man coming out to receive the package he had ordered.
Judging by the look the girl was giving him, it looked like her folder would soon have one more photo.
