Chapter 1897: Chapter 1889: A Paragon's Will

That sigh originated from Wei Wuyin's soul, carrying all of his frustration, annoyance, and disbelief. What was it about these beautiful women that had the audacity to ask for help from others in situations that were extremely disadvantageous for anyone to involve themselves in? Whether it was Yue Baoyue's plea for help on behalf of another man or Na Xinyi's declaration all those years ago at the execution platform, they were all born out of helplessness and the epitome of inconsideration.

Selfish.

At both times, they sought assistance from another, strictly uninvolved subject, without considering the man by their side.

That underlying expectation could render anyone speechless. Su Yi had made his bed, proudly too, and he had trump cards that could be deployed, yet Yue Baoyue was jumping the gun without caring for his goals.

The most frustrating part, in both cases, the men in question didn't rebuke them immediately either, only observing them silently to see how the situation played out while nursing their pride with internal justifications.

"He's exhausted," Eden remarked. It was clear that Su Yi had expended an extraordinary amount of energy to kill two Supreme Sages, even if they weren't combat-oriented cultivators, they had all sorts of one-time protections and counterattacks. More importantly, Su Yi was afflicted with a curse of the Alchemic Stars. The effectiveness of products was severely reduced, including the rate at which he could refine the alchemical efficacy of any product. Unable to rapidly replenish his innate energies or mystic power, Su Yi was in a very tenuous position.

His last card may very well be an all-out battle, laying everything on the line. Such a card would result in an unfavorable position. While he was extraordinarily powerful, he struggled against a Superior Sage's Avatar, let alone two Superior Sages with consolidated Microheavens, two standard consolidated Microheaven Envoys, and three unconsolidated Microheaven Envoys, all chosen for their remarkable combat strength as Dao Enforcers to the wealthiest galaxy in the Holy Void of Fortune!

There was no escape here.

If so, Wei Wuyin understood the desperation, including why Su Yi was gathering his strength in silence, not even attempting to openly admonish Yue Baoyue for her improper actions to retain some sense of self-pride or a confident reputation. Not a bluff attempt to produce hesitation while looking for an opening in sight, either.

Within an instant of her plea, the Dao Enforcers surrounding Su Yi, Yue Baoyue, and the unconscious Chu Xing within the Void Vessel exchanged glances with varied emotions. They had already sealed the space, the Void, and stabilized all flows of time, preventing any shenanigans, all while focusing intently on Su Yi's every breath and fluctuation of aura. If he tried to escape, they would act without hesitation, using extreme prejudice.

However, Yue Baoyue had introduced an unpredictable variable into the equation. It was galactically known that the Neo-Dawn Alchemic Saint had some direct and intense feelings for Yue Baoyue. Too much evidence suggested this. It all began during their game of Mystics. She had leveraged the Abstruse Spiritforce Pill as a wager, and she had been schemed against by her opponent.

Others might be unaware of what happened during that moment, but Resonant Soul Realm cultivators were well-informed. Wei Wuyin had saved Yue Baoyue without prompting. While that could be dismissed by Wei Wuyin's desire to keep the game of Mystics pure and unaffected by sinister, underhanded schemes, the subsequent actions of protecting her and Su Yi further supported his feelings.

At first, it could be misunderstood that Wei Wuyin had intentions on Su Yi's secrets, but after sending him and Yue Baoyue away, the next galaxy-shocking piece of evidence was his declaration that Yue Baoyue was protected by him, and any violations on her health or person would result in a vicious bounty of extermination.

Moreover, after Yue Baoyue was being eyed during her escape, Wei Wuyin had shielded her Void Vessel with his spiritual aura, causing everyone to understand that Yue Baoyue and, by unsaid inclusion, Chu Xing were once again protected.

The only—ONLY—reason why Su Yi hadn't been captured decisively first before announcing the Alchemic Edict, forcing him to make a choice or be executed on the spot, was because Wei Wuyin was floating out there saving the life of a Supreme Sage that ignited their Resonant Soul, and a battle of that level would inevitably affect her. She was simply too fragile.

It wasn't just that Wei Wuyin was a newly ascended Heavenly Saint Alchemist.

It wasn't just that he built the Neo Zenith Tower.

It wasn't just that his strength was difficult to discern, yet certainly exceeded a Microheaven Envoy.

It wasn't JUST that the conditions in the wager granted protections towards the Neo Zenith Tower for 250,000 years.

It was all of it.

All of it and more!

So under this please, Yue Baoyue's heart, which was racing as she shouted out into the world, felt a tinge of warmth and reassurance after doing so, immediately calming down. This was a subconscious action of hers from the shift in pressure these Dao Enforcers exuded.

This was the respect they held for that man!

Suddenly, the Dao Enforcers, Su Yi, and those watching from afar all looked towards a specific direction, landing roughly two million miles away from the positional formation that the Dao Enforcers took to restrict Su Yi's options.

Within that same moment, every Supreme Sage's pupils widened with pure, unadulterated shock. Even the cat in Enforcer Bound-Spirit's arms made a gasping meow in disbelief, its eyes bulging as if it couldn't quite reconcile reality with what it saw!

Wei Wuyin arrived calmly. His bearing was impeccable, his alchemical aura surged around him, dense enough to become a mixture of liquid and mist. Beneath his feet, forming an obedient clump of both, was a seven-colored cloud that glistened with a spiritual radiance.

However, while his unearthly looks awed, and his demeanor and presence sent waves across hearts, minds, and souls, the true shocker was the person who stood beside him—

SHE-DEVIL SWORD SOVEREIGN!!!

Her existence wasn't too shocking, but it was her current state. She was healthy. It might seem minor, but this woman had openly ignited her Resonant Soul, and this was a triple-calamity towards the Body, the Soul, and one's Existential Framework.

Not even a Cardinal Sage would be able to reliably save her life after such reckless actions were taken. The fact that she slayed Sovereign Vilesnow in an instant after ignition exposed the insane boost given by the action.

She looked at each of them. And then, with a provoking sneer, she floated a little closer to Wei Wuyin. This not-so-subtle action was telling, yet it shook their entire souls. Not because she was healthy. A sacrifice of cultivation to save a life wasn't too difficult or unrealistic, but this had two factors to it: Self-Damage & Time.

There was no way this Void Pirate was healthy after such a short time! This was unprecedented! This was unbelievable!

WHAT IN THE FLYING FU—

"Heaven-Saint…Neo-Dawn…" Yue Baoyue called out. While her cultivation base was the lowest of all those involved, excluding Wei Wuyin of course, she still could observe him from afar. She lightly bit her lips, gazing at him with signs of an incoming deluge of wetness. It was almost as if she had suffered a great grievance. A pitiful thing seeking safety from her protector.

"Oh, you crying, conniving, fake-ass bitch!" Enforcer Maleficent-Chaos spat. She could barely contain her anger. "We didn't touch you! Even with our auras!" She hastily argued despite no inquiry. This was a clear sign that she held a bit of fear towards Wei Wuyin. But when wouldn't?

Long Shiya's body was dust.

Moreover, he had extorted her for a Mystic-Heaven Essence Stone and could pierce through her concealment! That comment from before still lingered in her heart.

Meanwhile, Dongfang Yue was silently observing. She stared intensely at Hong Xuannu.

Suo Haoran internally groaned. A small appearance ,and already they were crumbling in terms of momentum. They held an Alchemic Edict of the Zeniths.

"Haha! Greetings, Heaven-Saint Neo-Dawn! I've always hoped that one day we'd be able to share wine and enjoy the sights of the stars while served by great, unrivaled beauties! Perhaps such a goal isn't too far off! Haha!" Superior Shizi laughed mightily, exuding an unshakeable bearing imbued with a courageous spirit.

Wei Wuyin glanced at him. He gave a slight smile, "I've heard of your great name, Enforcer Shizi! It would be my pleasure to enjoy such an experience with the Lion-Soul Sovereign of the Extraction Zone! My Alchemic Knight has always admired your breadth of spirit and strength."

Seeing this respectful reception, Superior Shizi gave a proud nod, his laughter echoing out for billions of miles. Suo Haoran relaxed slightly. While that exchange might seem minor, it expressed Wei Wuyin's stance. It would be quite problematic if he sought to intervene aggressively.

Suo Haoran took the lead, giving Hong Xuannu one last glance, "Heaven-Saint Neo-Dawn, as Enforcer Maleficent-Chaos has said, Yue Baoyue's established protection has not been violated. Not a single hair on her head has been displaced. However, if you have some comments to offer, please do so."

BOOSH!!

Suddenly, the restrictions surrounding Su Yi were increased threefold with a thunderous explosion. Every Enforcer, even Shizi, turned their eyes to Hong Xuannu. Glints of killing intent surged within each of their pupils.

She was leaking blood from her nose, suffering from a backlash. Her eyes were sharp and wild, almost as if she were ready to swing her sword at the world.

Wei Wuyin internally cursed, but outwardly, he only gave a bland smile. He looked to Hong Xuannu for an answer. Just now, she had tried to execute a spatial art, and it was instantly caught by every Supreme Sage present. Moreover, this spatial art wasn't empowered by resonant qi, so it was an attempt that was bound to fail.

Hong Xuannu reluctantly said, "I just wanted to bring out the Primal Star Sovereign. She's an uninvolved party here."

"..." Everyone stared at her. While it seemed like what she said held some truths, there was no guarantee that she didn't try to create an opening by which Su Yi could leverage to make a quick escape.

"Don't take any action unless I tell you. Understood?" Wei Wuyin firmly stated, a hint of scolding anger lingering within his voice.

Hong Xuannu frowned. She clenched her fists before uttering the words: "I understand." To the audience, this wild and vicious beauty had been brought to heel.

Wei Wuyin looked at the Dao Enforcers; his bland smile gained some charm. They fully expected him to give a soft apology or even ask for Chu Xing to be brought out from their cage, but what happened next shook them to their core.

"Since she's uninvolved," Wei Wuyin said as he used his mutated Major Spatial Law, Mutated Major Imperial Law, and Draconic Void Mystic Force, relying on his newly created Samsara Spiritual Energy as fuel, and then gently reached out and pulled.

"Come here."

Every Dao Enforcer felt a discomfort in their Resonant Soul. Two words echoed out, and then, an unconscious Chu Xing was brought before him via a Spatial Shift. A flash of silver light was all it took.

With a casual wave, Chu Xing's body was gently flung to Hong Xuannu under her outrageously wide and stupefied pair of eyes! She caught her by instinct. Holding Chu Xing in her arms, she felt her heart pounding.

What was that?!

WHAT WAS THAT?!?!

Su Yi's eyes were equally as wide, unable to hide his shock with any degree of calmness that he'd cultivated. One had to know that the cage established by nine Supreme Sages had just been reinforced, and even he had no confidence in breaching it without executing his strong art to brute force it! However, all Wei Wuyin said was for her to come, and all the rules and restrictions they exerted on the three dimensions of space and the Void were lifted for the briefest of milliseconds.

That was an opening that could be abused a thousand times over by those of their cultivation! However, he hadn't expected it, so he couldn't even take advantage of it!

Yue Baoyue was speechless. She knew they were trapped, but with a tug of his hand and two words, Chu Xing was brought out just like that. JUST LIKE THAT?!

Suo Haoran's wide eyes shifted to a cloudy expression ruled by a pair of deeply furrowed brows. "Major Authority…"

Those two words were sufficient to rile any Resonant Soul Realm cultivator.

Enforcer Maleficent-Chaos paled. She exclaimed, "Major Authority!"

Her words echoed out in the minds and souls of everyone present. It was hard to describe the insanity of the usage or possession of a Major Authority of Law! While the society of cultivation advanced with each subsequent generation, and those in the Mortal Realms could gain Seeds of Law from the Edict of a Sage, or they leveraged the strength of Seeds of Law to steadily ascend to higher stages of the Mystic Ascendant Realm, but these were exceptions by genius talents.

The cultivation of Seeds of Law began at the Resonant Soul Realm, and then the creation of Minor Authorities began during the Microheaven Envoy Phase, and even Superior Sage Yanzi only had a Minor Authority. In fact, that was the first requirement to attain the Superior Sage classification!

POSSESSION OF A MINOR AUTHORITY OF HEAVENLY LAW!

Wei Wuyin and those he interacted with were great exceptions, and even the Eight Sages of the Resolute Dusk Galaxy were extraordinary special cases. Not only could they leverage each other's talent and comprehension to birth a Seed of Law, but they could also share Soul Light to nurture their Seeds of Law!

"There. Satisfied?" Wei Wuyin casually inquired from Hing Xuannu. Her only response was an absent-minded nod, holding Chu Xing closer, and shifting subconsciously closer to him as she looked at the attention and focus these Dao Enforcers were giving her and Chu Xing.

"Good. Now, I can clearly see that all of you showed me due respect. I'll extend my thanks to each of you with an invitation to visit my Neo Zenith Tower whenever you're free," Wei Wuyin said as he felt as if he was riding a tiger, creating a flawless image of himself all while unable to get off when trouble arises, continuing with: "As for this matter with Su Yi…"

The hearts of everyone throbbed. What was he going to try to do?

"...he has violated no rules, so how about we drop this matter?" Wei Wuyin asked, maintaining his smile.

"..."

"..."

"..."

Before Suo Haoran could argue, Wei Wuyin immediately followed up with: "Earlier, the late Heaven-Saint Littlefather, late Heaven-Saint Gloomdark, and late Sovereign Vilesnow offended me through spiritual transmission. Because of this, I issued a private bounty of a single qi stone on their heads to a select few cultivators in a position to act. Sovereign She-Devil Sword and Daoist Su have taken upon themselves to complete the bounty."

He tossed two qi stones out into the Dark Void. Just like before, under shocked gazes, the qi stones appeared before Su Yi in a flash of silver light imbued with the heavenly authority of space, bypassing their restrictions.

"That means I am responsible for their deaths, and as a Heavenly Saint Alchemist recognized by the Utmost Purity Galaxy's Zeniths, the only consequence is a monetary fine. Right? Not for Sovereign Vilesnow, of course, only the other two."

"..."

Then, Wei Wuyin gazed at the Alchemic Edict. "I'll end the edict then, as a Zenith of the Utmost Purity Galaxy." The Alchemic Stars of Unparalleled Creation shone with seven-colored brilliance, scorching and forceful. The Alchemic Edict in the dazed Enforcer Maleficent-Chaos's hands crumbled into seven-colored dust that scattered into the Void.

A single thought and the seven-united wills of the Zeniths were unable to withstand Wei Wuyin's Alchemic Will! After all, his Alchemic Stars of Unparalleled Creation was not at the level of Transcendent Purity but Pure Enlightenment! An entire level above all of them!!

Similar to how Suo Kai-Ming once tried to suppress Wei Wuyin's Alchemic Stars, Wei Wuyin displayed a degree of unparalleled superiority towards all seven of their Alchemic Stars!

"Baoyue," Wei Wuyin called out, ignoring everyone else.

"Yeah?" Yue Baoyue's heart shook so fiercely that it skipped two beats. She blinked her gem-like, beautiful eyes. The man reflected in her pupils was godly and mysterious, settling in her heart without permission.

"Anything."

A single word hung everlasting in the void.\

Erdiul's Note: First half had me for a second. Whatever man, I give up. Women really are just OP in this novel. Anything they ask, MC will do. Some of you might disagree and think I'm overreacting. Maybe I am, but I don't know, this really just takes the cake. Sure, she said ''Anything'' but really, who cares? Unless she can offer anything more of value, which she probably can't. If it's the alchemist spirit excuse again, then that's just extremely stupid. Also why risk offending all these alchemists over one girl?? AHHHHHHHHH, I don't fucking understand bro... Is a paragon's will to abide to anything a woman says or does??? Then all husbands in the world are paragons. He knows she's being unreasonable and HE STILL HELPS HER?? New girl he just saved, literally already causing him problems because she tried to save Su Yi like a dumbass, but WW still helps her save ANOTHER woman again that he has no reason to save, BECAUSE SHE'S A WOMAN.

Now if you read this you might think I have something against women. No, I don't. I just don't like when unreasonable things happen. Also how convenient that this stupid sword arc ended right before we had to rebuy privilege... How convenient indeed. Maybe I'm overreacting, but I just feel like this could have been done in a different way. I feel like WW is just there to literally save all damsels in distresses these days. He doesn't feel like the MC, he feels like an ancestor that just pops up to save the day because the other MC is incompetent. I just hope all this saving and stuff actually profits him in the end, otherwise it's gonna put a bitter taste in my mouth.
