Chapter 511: He Is Now the King of This Grassland
Ning Fei and Bai Yi sat atop the elephant, perfectly at ease.
The herd strolled leisurely across the grass.
Little Dog was showing off, bounding back and forth across the backs of several elephants looking utterly goofy.
Fortunately, Ning Fei had used an Animal Friendship Card to befriend the herd's matriarch, so the elephants were incredibly tolerant of his little companions.
Nestled in Ning Fei's arms, Little Fox gazed at the distant scenery, looking perfectly content.
Ning Fei sat cross-legged on the elephant's back, surrounded by a circle of small animals.
It was a sight that gave people the sudden urge to bow in reverence.
He looked like an immortal Daoist priest.
Netizens all over the world were completely stunned.
"Can someone tell me why the elephants are voluntarily letting him ride them?""This guy seems to have a natural-born ability to attract animals."
"They don't call him the Son of Nature for nothing!"
"I'm already used to it."
At that moment, Ning Fei spoke up.
"The herd is currently migrating, and they happen to be heading straight for the Madagascar Grassland."
"The water and grass resources there have been quite abundant lately, so a lot of wildlife will be out on the plains."
"It's going to be a lively scene."
Hearing his words, the viewers grew even more excited to see the Madagascar Grassland.
The continent of Africa was a fascinating place. Because many of the countries here were impoverished and underdeveloped, its species and natural resources were paradoxically the most abundant.
It was a true paradise for wild animals.
On the live stream, the elephant Ning Fei rode was massive, with ears nearly larger than a bed quilt.
"This is an African elephant, the largest living terrestrial mammal."
"They are significantly larger than Asian elephants."
"Elephants are highly social, nomadic creatures. They are diurnal and spend every day on the move."
"The leader of an African elephant herd is a female, who takes charge of guiding the way, while the males generally protect the group,"
Ning Fei explained.
As the drone zoomed out, the viewers watched the herd wandering leisurely across the plains.
Although elephants were herbivores, very few predators ever dared to provoke them.
After all, the average African elephant weighed between 5.5 and 8 tons. With bodies that massive, very few animals could survive being trampled underfoot.
This naturally contributed to their perpetually relaxed and unhurried temperament.
After sitting for a while, Ning Fei felt a little tired. He shifted positions and simply lay back on the elephant's spine, pillowing his head in his hands and staring up at the sky.
Sitting nearby, Bai Yi held a camera, continuously snapping photos of the beautiful African wilderness.
Seeing him lie down, she snapped a picture of him as well.
The drone captured the scene from a bird's-eye view.
In the broadcast frame, Ning Fei lay comfortably on his back. His relaxed expression was contagious, making anyone who saw it feel an immense sense of physical and mental relief.
It was a deeply healing image.
Growing drowsy, Ning Fei eventually drifted off to sleep right there on the elephant's back.
Noticing that Ning Fei's stomach was soft and warm, Little Fox curled up into a ball on top of him and rested as well.
The three Xiao Heijiu hopped back and forth between the elephant's back and Ning Fei's chest. Given how tall the elephant was and how short the three black kittens' legs were, they didn't dare jump down to run around.
As for Little Dog, it had already hopped off and was having a blast playing with two baby elephants.
The elephant calves had never seen a canine before, so they looked absolutely delighted watching Little Dog run around.
Meanwhile, Little Dog seemed fascinated by their trunks, probably wondering why on earth they had such long things growing out of their faces.
An unknown amount of time passed before Ning Fei finally woke up.
He rubbed his eyes and took in his surroundings.
He was still on the elephant's back, but it looked like they were almost at the grasslands.
The surrounding vegetation was noticeably much more lush.
"Brother, you're finally awake. The scenery along the way has been gorgeous,"
Bai Yi remarked with a teasing smile.
"Yeah, I accidentally dozed off."
Ning Fei scooped Little Fox into his arms, sat up, and stretched his body.
"Looks like we're almost there. Just one more high ridge, and we'll reach the Madagascar Grassland," he said, checking the satellite map on his mobile phone.
"Perfect. We'll find a place with a water source first and take a good rest."
"Then we'll see what we can find on the Madagascar Grassland."
The elephant herd continued forward.
They headed up a steep slope.
Just past the crest of the ridge was the Madagascar Grassland.
Ning Fei looked into the distance, eagerly anticipating the sight that awaited them.
The drone trailed closely behind him.
When they finally crested the hill, the image broadcasted to the stream instantly made the viewers' eyes widen.
"Wow!" the netizens gasped in awe.
Looking down from the ridge, a boundless expanse of plains stretched out below them. Clusters of low trees and shrubs dotted the landscape, and a massive river wound its way down the right side.
Herds of zebras galloped across the grass, accompanied by massive throngs of horned deer and antelopes.
Not far away, several African lions lay sprawled in the meter-high grass, staring out at the wildlife in utter boredom.
Further off, a few hyenas slinked about, their shifty eyes darting back and forth in a rather sleazy manner.
Taking it all in, there were at least ten thousand mammals moving about across the vast plains.
The scene was truly spectacular.
"My god, that's so many animals!"
"For real, this has to be the most wildlife ever shown on the stream at one time!"
"Is this the African savanna?"
"Look over there, two herds of zebras seem to be having a standoff!"
"That reminds me of a bad joke. The white horses with black stripes and the black horses with white stripes hate each other's guts, so they're getting ready to brawl."
"Haha, it's just two zebra herds. Zebras usually don't fight each other."
The viewers flooded the screen with amazed comments.
Ning Fei's live-stream room was always full of surprises, constantly leaving everyone breathless!
Ning Fei was also quite satisfied with the scenery.
He turned to Bai Yi and said, "Don't run off on your own now that we're here. Stick close to me."
"With this much wildlife on the Great Grassland, the danger level is a lot higher."
"Animals like hyenas and lions are incredible hunters. They can appear and disappear like ghosts."
Bai Yi nodded. Most ordinary people would undoubtedly be terrified coming to a place like this, but Bai Yi completely trusted Ning Fei.
She always had a feeling that her father, Bai Yuanche, and Ning Fei were more than just ordinary people.
Qingfeng Temple, this particular Daoist temple, was steeped in mystery.
At that moment, Ning Fei lightly patted the elephant's back.
Understanding his intent, the elephant voluntarily offered its trunk, allowing him to step onto it and ride it down to the ground.
An African elephant's trunk was incredibly powerful, capable of lifting up to a ton of weight—a truly terrifying display of strength.
So lifting Ning Fei was child's play for it.
Bai Yi climbed down the same way.
"Thanks, big guy!"
Ning Fei said with a smile, stroking the elephant's side.
The elephant raised its trunk and trumpeted, seemingly thanking him in return.
Just then, the two baby elephants ran over to Ning Fei, bouncing around in high spirits.
Their goofy antics were absolutely adorable. Smiling warmly, Ning Fei crouched down to pat their heads.
The netizens were incredibly envious.
Afterward, Ning Fei and Bai Yi continued on foot.
"I've contacted the Wildlife Protection Association here."
"There are volunteers from Huaxia working over here. If we run into any trouble, we can go to them,"
Ning Fei added.
He had made thorough preparations.
The Great Grassland was much more bustling than they had imagined.
Herds of wild animals dashed to and fro across the ground, and the silhouettes of giraffes and ostriches could be seen among them.
A few lions strolled right through the middle of the herds, while the other animals watched them with cautious eyes.
Both sides seemed to have tacitly agreed to this set of rules.
For the herbivores, as long as the lions weren't actively hunting them, they couldn't be bothered to run.
"Let's find a place to stay first, then we'll get ready to dig for treasure."
Ning Fei made up his mind.
The two of them arrived at the riverbank.
Watching this scene unfold, the viewers found it completely unbelievable.
Because this was nature at its most raw and real. It was a world where the strong preyed on the weak, where lions and hyenas eyed their next meal, and where countless other dangers lurked.
But looking at Ning Fei, he didn't seem worried in the slightest.
"Is Ning Guan master really not scared at all?"
"He is Ning Guan master! I don't know what you guys are seeing, but in my eyes, he is now the king of this grassland."
"Exactly. I'm actually praying for the lions, hoping they know better than to mess with Ning Guan master."
"Haha, the beasts probably think Ning Guan master is prey, little realizing he's a bona fide hunter."
