Chapter 469: The Most Terrifying Sea, the Bermuda Triangle!

  • Next Chapter

Ning Fei poled his small wooden boat, feeding the fish on South Lake.

Handfuls of fish feed flew from his grasp, splashing into the water. Before long, a swarm of small fish surfaced to eat.

Tengshe and the Thunder Dragon Electric Eel got along beautifully.

Both belonged to the dragon lineage. In the real world, they were likely among the very few such companions who could coexist so peacefully.

Sitting in the boat, Ning Fei had a sudden thought and asked, "System, can you check if there are any other divine beasts left in Huaxia, or anywhere else in the world?"

The System answered: "Traces of divine beasts can only be detected within a five-kilometer radius. Anything beyond that cannot be scanned."

Ning Fei understood. The existence of divine beasts, much like the System itself, belonged to a realm completely unknown to humanity.

It would be quite interesting, he thought, if he could raise a few divine beasts deep in the Qinshan Mountains.

He just didn't know how many of the animals recorded in the Classic of Mountains and Seas were actually real.

And how many of them he could actually find.

However, the government would be a headache.

Being discovered with a menagerie of divine beasts would cause massive trouble. That is, unless Ning Fei grew powerful enough that the state would willingly turn a blind eye.

"Based on map scans, there are several bizarre locations on Earth where divine beasts might exist."

"The three locations currently detected with the highest probability of housing divine beasts are:"

"The Bermuda Triangle, Krubera Cave, and the Ancient Kingdom of Atlantis."

Just as Ning Fei was about to give up, the System's voice rang out again.

Hearing the list, surprise flashed across Ning Fei's face.

He had always been fiercely fascinated by the creatures described in the Classic of Mountains and Seas.

The same held true for any magical, undiscovered species in the world.

Sitting in the wooden boat, a bright smile spread across his face.

Just then, Tengshe breached the surface of the lake and stared at him.

Fragments of the beast's memories were gradually beginning to clear.

In those ancient memories, from a long, long time ago, it seemed to have met Ning Fei before. Except back then, he had only been a child of six or seven.

The Ning Fei of that era wore a white brocade robe, strolling through a lush, vibrant sanctuary with a whole host of divine beasts trailing behind him.

Among them was a Phoenix, a giant dragon, a Qilin, a Bai Ze, a Nine-tailed Heavenly Fox, and countless others whose names evaded memory.

Every single one of them had followed him with fawning, eager expressions.

Ning Fei had adored them, his smile radiant and joyous.

Tengshe wasn't sure if it was just an illusion.

But the Ning Fei standing in the boat right now felt exactly like the child from its memories.

Still, the details were too hazy, so the beast let the thought slip away.

Ning Fei sat in the boat, happily feeding the lake fish.

He, of course, remembered absolutely nothing of his past lives.

"The Bermuda Triangle. The most terrifying stretch of ocean in the world."

"Krubera Cave. The deepest cave in the world."

"The Ancient Kingdom of Atlantis. A realm that only exists in legends."

"Since they've been detected, I'll just have to go take a look."

Ning Fei scattered the last of the fish feed and brushed off his hands, looking exceptionally relaxed.

He knew his next live stream was going to send shockwaves across the entire globe.

He rowed the small boat back to shore.

Little Black Bear had already run off to the side, shamelessly rubbing its back against a tree.

Seeing the bear's pathetic yet hilarious antics, Ning Fei let out a helpless laugh.

"As long as you're happy. As long as you're happy."

"Well, I'm the one who hired this bodyguard."

Then, with Little Dog in tow, he strolled back toward the Daoist temple.

With so many little critters gathering around him, life was only getting more enjoyable.

He settled into his rocking chair, petting Little Fox for a moment before scratching the little black cat. The tranquil peace of it all was absolute bliss.

A few days later, out on the open sea.

The moment Ning Fei started his live stream, the viewers were instantly captivated by the scenery.

"Finally live! I've been waiting so long the flowers have withered!"

"Temple Master Ning, so you do remember you're supposed to be traveling!"

"I've been bored to death these past few days!"

"Yeah, watching other streams is completely tasteless without Temple Master Ning!"

"Hurry up and tell us, Temple Master Ning! Where are you heading this time?"

Ning Fei stood at the bow of his ship, enjoying the gentle sea breeze. He looked completely at ease.

Life at sea could be dull, but with so many animals to keep him company, he actually found it incredibly comfortable.

"This time, we're heading to a rather mysterious place."

"It's a place shrouded in terrifying legends."

"A truly forbidden zone."

Ning Fei said in a leisurely tone.

"Here it comes, Temple Master Ning's maddening riddles!"

"Guessing again! Does he think we have nothing better to do?"

"But I'm actually super curious now. Where is he talking about?"

"I can think of one place, but that's impossible, right?"

"I was thinking the exact same thing."

"You guys don't mean the Bermuda Triangle, do you?!"

"What? No way!"

In this world, the Bermuda Triangle was literal hell.

Countless planes and ships had vanished within its borders, entirely lost to the world.

A foreign naval fleet had once ventured in to rescue a missing vessel. But by the time they found the ship, the only living creature left on board was a canary, right on the brink of starvation.

It was universally branded a forbidden zone.

Since then, no one dared set foot in the Bermuda Triangle.

Every passing ship took great care to steer clear of it.

Rumors occasionally surfaced of an underwater pyramid hidden within its depths, but no concrete evidence had ever corroborated the claims.

As the chat filled with speculation about the Bermuda Triangle, a palpable tension gripped the viewers.

"I can only say he's relying on his sheer skill to be this bold."

"So many accidents have happened there! Why is Temple Master Ning risking it?!"

"Just hearing the name makes it hard to breathe."

"I believe in Temple Master Ning! He's invincible!"

"I hope so."

Ning Fei glanced at the chat and noticed many viewers had already guessed the truth. He smiled easily.

"I am indeed heading to the Bermuda Triangle."

"There are simply too many mysteries hidden there that demand answers."

"A team of scientists once surveyed the waters bordering the Bermuda Triangle. They discovered hundreds of new algae species and dozens of undocumented fish."

"Who knows what else might be hiding in the very depths of the Triangle?"

Hearing his logic, the viewers felt it was highly possible.

If he actually managed to film some rare discoveries inside the Bermuda Triangle, it would make for a truly legendary adventure.

Meanwhile, the news of Ning Fei's upcoming expedition to the Bermuda Triangle was already sparking massive discussions on international forums.

Across his overseas streaming channels, the room titles had been swiftly changed to "Adventure into the Bermuda Triangle."

The streaming platforms themselves had updated the titles. Usually, they sought an anchor's permission before making such changes, never acting recklessly.

International viewers paid incredibly close attention to anything regarding the Bermuda Triangle.

Simply because there were far too many terrifying legends surrounding it in the West.

"Is he really going?"

"Holy shit! He's the first traveler daring enough to livestream from the Bermuda Triangle!"

"Maybe this mysterious man from Huaxia can actually show us something amazing."

"He is absolutely my favorite explorer. The guy is just incredible!"

"Emmm... I think he's just asking to die."

"He'll probably end up dying in there."

"Let's just wait and see. He might back out at the last second."

After a few days off the air, Ning Fei's return had instantly commanded the attention of the entire globe.

An outdoor streamer daring enough to venture into the Bermuda Triangle.

That made him the undisputed king of outdoor streamers.

Despite the hype, many international viewers remained skeptical. Did he truly have the nerve to follow through?

A short while later, Ning Fei checked the electronic map in the captain's cabin, noting how rapidly they were closing in on the target coordinates.

He walked back out to the bow and spoke to the camera.

"At our current speed, we'll enter the Bermuda Triangle in about two hours."

"I can already feel the waves growing a bit more turbulent."

He gripped the ship's railing and gazed out at the distant horizon, a gentle smile hanging on his lips.

Seeing his calm expression, the viewers found that their own anxiety and fear slowly began to melt away.
