Chapter 379: Diving, the Number One Deep-Sea Streamer

  • Next Chapter

After so long at sea, a person always started to miss dry land.

Ning Fei had been out for over half a month on this trip, thoroughly taking in the sights of the Huaxia South China Sea.

I'm planning to head back to Qingfeng Temple in the next couple of days to rest for a while.

"After that, I'll take the ship out again to see the rest of the world," Ning Fei told his viewers.

His pets kept him company, still as cheerful as ever.

"Little Dog, do you want to go back to Qingfeng Temple?" Ning Fei asked.

"Woof, woof!" Little Dog immediately barked.

Ning Fei chuckled helplessly at the response.

He had assumed the little guys would be missing their laid-back life at Qingfeng Temple after being out at sea for so long. Yet, Little Dog's bark was a firm and decisive: "No."

It was a good thing. It meant the little guys didn't care about the Daoist temple itself; they only cared about being wherever Ning Fei was.

"Let's go, time to head home!"

Ning Fei set their coordinates to the South Sea Villa and handed control over to the smart steward for autopilot.

The Qingfeng Cruise Ship cut through the waves, sailing toward the horizon once more.

Ning Fei stepped out onto the top deck of the cruise ship, planning to take a short break.

Right at that moment, the System's voice chimed in.

"Ding! Sunken ship detected in the surrounding waters. Check-in quest initiated."

"Quest Requirements: Explore the sunken ship and locate the Qiming Pearl."

"Quest Reward: One private airplane."

Ning Fei immediately sat up from his lounge chair at the sudden notification.

'A sunken ship?!'

'Something like that is out here?' he thought.

Ning Fei didn't care much about the quest reward. It was just an airplane; it wasn't as if he couldn't afford to buy one himself.

The real appeal was the quest itself—it sounded incredibly thrilling.

A sunken ship at the bottom of the ocean.

They were out in the deep sea, far from the mainland. There weren't even any islands with human activity nearby. This was a true no man's land.

The ocean was unimaginably vast.

In such a massive expanse without landmark coordinates or satellite navigation, it was impossible for an ordinary person or fleet to find a place like this.

Yet the System had just informed him that a sunken ship rested right here?

Just how many secrets did the ocean hide?

Excitement surged through Ning Fei.

The process of completing this quest would be far more thrilling than the quest itself.

Ning Fei checked the sunken ship's coordinates on his mobile phone, then changed course and headed straight for it.

It was a bright, sunny morning.

As soon as Ning Fei started his stream, his viewership numbers rapidly climbed.

His viewers still had vivid memories of his ocean-vortex rescue from the day before.

That heart-stopping leap had become one of the most awe-inspiring moments in the public's eyes.

Notably, the incident had even made it onto the Huaxia national news broadcast.

The footage of him leaping from the cruise ship to the fishing boat was broadcast across the country.

Because of that, Ning Fei's reputation as an immortal grew even greater.

Rumor had it that in some places, people had already begun offering him incense as a genuine deity.

Ning Fei, however, paid no mind to any of it.

"Temple Master Ning, where are we heading today?"

"Are you going abroad?"

"Yeah! How about heading to Antarctica to see the penguins?"

"Go to the Arctic to see the northern lights!"

The viewers excitedly discussed the possibilities in his stream's chat.

Everyone was eagerly looking forward to seeing those kinds of sights.

Ning Fei replied, "Today, I plan to explore the underwater world.

The seabed in this area is around 1,300 meters deep. At that depth, you can find a lot of unexpected things.

Like bizarre fish that only live in the deep sea, terrifying underwater caves, and so on.

"I'm planning to return to Qingfeng Temple in a few days. Before I head back, I want to go on one last underwater adventure."

The viewers grew excited again upon hearing that he was diving.

"Awesome, another deep-sea dive!"

"Every dive leaves me terrified, but I just can't look away. It's too amazing!"

"You don't get to see sights like this on a normal day!"

"The number one deep-sea streamer!"

"After all, it's not like just anyone can dive this deep to explore!"

Everyone was thrilled to hear that Ning Fei was heading down into the abyss once again.

Ning Fei anchored the Qingfeng Cruise Ship and instructed the little guys not to run around. He then went down to the ship's lower deck, boarded the Submarine, and began his descent into the sea.

"The ocean is far too mysterious!" Ning Fei explained to his viewers.

The absolute limit for humanity's current diving vessels is around 7,000 meters; they can't go any deeper. But the Mariana Trench reaches depths of 11,000 meters. The water pressure down there is so immense that humans simply can't get anywhere near the bottom.

The seabed beneath us right now is about 1,000 meters deep.

According to scientists, the water pressure your body would endure at 1,000 meters is equivalent to the weight of 400 adult men pressing down on you.

"Even if each person only weighed 100 jin, 400 of them would amount to 40,000 jin of weight."

He had been completely serious while explaining this.

The viewers, however, took it in a completely different direction.

"400 adult men pressing down on you? What kind of feeling is that?"

"Covered in big burly men?!"

"Good lord, not even Tokyo HOT would dare film a scene like that!"

The viewers joked.

Ning Fei couldn't check his stream chat at the moment, so he remained blissfully unaware of their comments.

The deep sea was as enchanting as ever. Various fish, sea turtles, and squids swam freely through the water without a care in the world.

This time, Ning Fei was diving straight into the depths.

His target depth for this dive was around 1,000 meters below sea level.

Meanwhile, at the Marine Research Institute.

The researchers were all wide-eyed with astonishment when they heard someone was diving to a depth of 1,000 meters.

A place like that was incredibly dangerous for a human.

Normally, only high-tech unmanned exploration submersibles could safely reach those depths.

When the directors at the Marine Research Institute learned about Ning Fei's deep-sea dive, they gathered everyone together to watch. They planned to use his stream as a vivid, real-time research lesson on deep-sea marine biology.

They also hoped to spot new subjects to research along the way.

The Submarine sank deeper and deeper.

This Submarine has excellent specs. It can withstand the pressure at two to three thousand meters deep without an issue.

It's also equipped with a warning system, along with instruments that monitor the oxygen reserves, hull pressure, and the structural integrity of every component.

Additionally, this Submarine features an emergency escape system.

If I run into any real danger, there's a small escape pod inside the hull where I can take refuge.

The pod would detach from the Submarine and rapidly float to the surface.

"Because of that, my safety is fully guaranteed on this deep-sea dive," Ning Fei explained from within the Submarine.

Only after hearing his explanation did many of the viewers finally relax.

He was a thousand meters underwater, after all. If something went wrong, he would be completely helpless. It would essentially be a guaranteed death sentence.

Down here, even if a rescue team were dispatched, their chances of success would be slim.

As a side note, the communication technology in this parallel world was incredibly advanced. Signals could penetrate thousands of meters of ocean water, meaning his stream would maintain a perfect connection even in the deep sea.

The Tuna Live Submarine followed Ning Fei down as well, filming the broadcast.

This gave the viewers a full, clear view of the Submarine's descent.

The Submarine plunged deeper and deeper, the water around it growing darker by the minute.

Watching the dive, every viewer in the chat couldn't help but feel a growing sense of tension.
