Chapter 358: Live-Action Nezha Stirs the Sea, Battling the Dragon King!
The sudden appearance of the oarfish left everyone in the live stream dumbfounded.
Oarfish were the longest bony fish in the world, typically growing to three meters. However, specific variations could reach over ten meters in length—a terrifying prospect.
In Huaxia, the oarfish was known by names like the Dragon King Fish and the Envoy of the Dragon Palace.
Given its immense size and undulating movements, calling it a "Dragon King" was hardly an exaggeration.
"There really is a Dragon King in the sea!"
"My god, what kind of stream is this? He dives into the deep sea and runs into a sea dragon?!"
"Didn't Temple Master Ning just say it's an oarfish!"
"Run, Temple Master Ning!"
The viewers were instantly gripped with tension.
Ning Fei knew he couldn't outrun it.In the deep sea, the beam of his headlamp was dangerously conspicuous—a detail he had overlooked.
As a result, the oarfish had locked onto him as prey.
However, Ning Fei wasn't going down without a fight.
As the audience watched in panic, the oarfish opened its massive jaws and lunged at him.
It moved with blistering speed. This was the ocean, after all; this was its domain.
Even burdened by an oxygen tank and constrained by flippers, Ning Fei's hands remained incredibly nimble.
In a flash, he reached out and clamped both hands fiercely around the creature's weak point, right behind its head.
Dragon, snake, or oarfish—that spot right behind the head was always their greatest vulnerability.
By pinning that precise spot and keeping the jaws away, their threat level immediately plummeted by seventy percent.
Down in the pitch-black trench, the beam of his headlamp swung wildly through the water.
Off to the side, the Tuna captured the entire struggle on the live stream.
The footage was absolutely breathtaking.
Suspended in the water, Ning Fei held the massive oarfish by its throat while its four-meter-long body thrashed furiously in the currents.
A mortal man battling a Dragon King.
It instantly reminded viewers of a legendary myth they had all grown up hearing.
Nezha Stirring the Sea.
When Nezha descended into the ocean, this was exactly how he must have manhandled the Third Dragon Prince.
Only in the real world, Nezha was a Daoist priest—Ning Fei!
"Is this... a live-action Nezha Stirring the Sea?"
"Damn it, I was on the edge of my seat and that comment just made me laugh."
"This is terrifying. I feel like I can't even breathe."
"It really is an immortal battling the Dragon King!"
"Holy shit, this stream is more intense than a blockbuster movie!"
"SHOCKING! Human with oxygen tank commits unspeakable acts in the deep sea!"
While the viewers flooded the chat, Ning Fei remained locked in combat with the oarfish.
He had a death grip on its throat, but he hadn't completely neutralized its ability to move.
This was the ocean—the oarfish's home turf.
Suddenly, the creature surged forward with tremendous force.
Suspended in the open water, Ning Fei had absolutely no leverage to stop it.
To the utter shock of the viewers, Ning Fei held onto the creature's neck for dear life as it dragged him at breakneck speed through the depths.
If the previous scene had only slightly resembled Nezha Stirring the Sea, this was a perfect, shot-for-shot recreation of the animated film.
"Temple Master Ning, what are you waiting for?! Rip out its dragon tendon!"
"Yeah, that's exactly what Nezha did!"
"You're riding the sea dragon! Rip out the tendon already!"
The audience was perfectly happy to fan the flames from the safety of their screens.
In reality, Ning Fei's situation was anything but easy.
He quickly realized that it was impossible to exert his full strength underwater.
He had encountered massive pythons deep in the mountains before, and on solid ground, he could just grab a snake and swing it overhead.
That didn't work in the ocean. Leverage or not, he couldn't swing a thing.
The oarfish hauled him forward, barreling straight toward a rock wall with the clear intent to smash him against it.
The beast wasn't just ferocious; it was incredibly cunning.
Seeing the danger, Ning Fei immediately let go, narrowly avoiding getting slammed into the jagged stone.
The instant it was free, the oarfish bolted into the distance.
Its long body undulated gracefully through the water, genuinely looking like a soaring dragon.
For the moment, it seemed Ning Fei was finally safe.
"The Dragon King got chased off?"
"Temple Master Ning is too badass!"
"That was incredible. Brawling with a terrifying sea monster at the bottom of the ocean... I've officially seen it all."
The viewers were completely in awe.
However, Ning Fei spoke up:
"I never expected to run into an oarfish in this trench."
"Oarfish are on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, as their numbers are relatively low. However, I seem to remember that on that list, they're classified as 'Least Concern'."
"In other words, oarfish aren't supposed to attack humans. They typically only hunt small fish, shrimp, jellyfish, and the like."
"But obviously, that list is completely unreliable."
Hearing his explanation, the chat lit up again:
"Haha, looks like Temple Master Ning's 'Child of Nature' passive doesn't work in the ocean."
"Yeah! In the forest, tigers and deer would just walk right up to him. On the Great Grassland, it was marmots and swans. But in the ocean, these sea creatures just want to eat him."
"He even ran into sharks earlier, and sharks rarely attack humans either."
"Now that you mention it, that's so true."
Relieved that the danger had passed, the viewers bantered back and forth.
Meanwhile, Ning Fei noticed the oarfish had returned and was circling not far away.
"Looks like our friend hasn't given up."
"These deep-sea creatures are pretty terrifying. Not only are they highly aggressive, but they also hold a serious grudge. It looks like it's just waiting for another chance to strike."
Prompted by his warning, the viewers squinted at their screens and realized the oarfish was indeed lurking in the shadows.
Half-hidden among the kelp, the creature slithered back and forth, looking ready to lunge at him again at a moment's notice.
"Looks like it's time for me to go."
"I can handle one oarfish, but if a few more show up, I'll be in real trouble."
With that, Ning Fei turned and swam toward the Submarine.
He paddled upward, steadily making his way out of the trench.
The old saying was right—the abyss was full of unimaginable monsters and unseen terrors.
Staring at the ominous depths on screen, the audience felt a fresh wave of fear wash over them.
As Ning Fei ascended, the oarfish trailed quietly beneath him.
The Tuna Submarine occasionally tilted its camera down toward the trench, allowing the viewers to see the long, pale body of the creature still twisting and stalking just out of reach.
It looked as though it was just waiting for the perfect moment to drag him back down into the trench forever.
It was the kind of scene that made the hair on the back of your neck stand up, leaving viewers covered in a cold sweat.
For a moment, it looked exactly like a scene straight out of a fantasy novel.
If you ignored the water, it looked as though Ning Fei had successfully achieved the Dao and was ascending to the heavens, while a vicious demonic beast glared up at him from below, seething with resentment at being left behind.
Ning Fei remained on high alert, glancing down over his shoulder every few moments.
If the oarfish actually dared to charge him again, he was more than ready to teach it a harsh lesson.
Even without using items like a Suppression Card, the Tuna Submarine was armed with offensive capabilities that could easily spear right through the creature.
The only reason he had spared the beast was because it was on the Red List of endangered species.
That being said, the species was not actually on Huaxia's national protection register.
Meaning that even if he killed it in self-defense, he wouldn't be breaking any of Huaxia's rare animal protection laws.
Ning Fei continued his ascent, and the oarfish never made another move.
After all, its typical diet consisted of small fish, shrimp, and jellyfish.
It had only attacked this time because it was drawn in by the glare of his headlamp. Having been thoroughly manhandled by Ning Fei, it had learned its lesson and didn't dare push its luck.
Taking his time, Ning Fei drifted leisurely up and out of the trench.
The Tuna Submarine repositioned itself outside the trench to capture the scene. Through the live feed, the viewers watched as Ning Fei's silhouette slowly emerged from the pitch-black depths.
Only then did everyone finally let out a long breath of relief.
