Chapter 340: Sharks Generally Do Not Attack Humans Unless You Have Bad Luck

  • Next Chapter

"There is no need to be afraid, everyone!"

"Sperm whales have a relatively gentle temperament. They generally prefer eating octopuses, squids, and the like."

"Their absolute favorite is the giant squid."

"Giant squids and sperm whales are mortal enemies. A giant squid's tentacles can stretch over thirty meters long and easily wrap around a sperm whale's body."

"The two frequently break out into battles."

"The scenes of their fights are terrifying, much like the monster battles in Godzilla. Both of these massive creatures are like ancient behemoths, and their brawls are breathtaking."

Ning Fei drifted among the pod of sperm whales, explaining in a gentle voice.

Hearing Ning Fei's words, the viewers pictured a massive squid and a giant sperm whale tearing each other apart in the ocean.

Just thinking about a squid with thirty-meter-long tentacles was enough to make anyone shudder.

Unfortunately, they hadn't encountered such a scene today, or else it would have been a live broadcast on par with Godzilla vs. Kong.

Ning Fei continued swimming upward, with Submarine Type A following closely behind him.

Amidst the massive sperm whale pod, his figure was nothing more than a tiny black dot.

The visual stimulation brought by these behemoths made everyone feel afraid, yet entirely thrilled at the same time.

Before long, Ning Fei arrived beside the injured sperm whale.

He had to find a way to get this sperm whale to eat the Healing Pill.

Right now, this sperm whale was following its pod, which ensured it could still swim normally.

If it fell behind and couldn't locate its kin due to its damaged Positioning System, it would very likely end up crashing haphazardly onto the shore.

However, a problem presented itself.

How was he supposed to make the sperm whale open its mouth and swallow the Healing Pill?

He couldn't attract the sperm whale's attention with sound. After all, Ning Fei's voice was contained within his waterproof helmet; it would be incredibly difficult for it to travel through the seawater and reach the whale.

Moreover, he was still live streaming, so he couldn't do that anyway.

Ning Fei swam alongside this sperm whale.

He noticed that this sperm whale was a bit on the smaller side. It was only a little over ten meters long, placing it in its juvenile stage.

Ning Fei swam up beside the sperm whale, reached out to stroke its belly, and gave it a gentle tickle.

Watching this scene, the viewers stared at their screens, entirely speechless.

Good heavens. Diving into the deep sea just to tickle a giant whale—was this really Temple Master Ning?

The sperm whale found it very comfortable. It closed its eyes and parted its mouth slightly.

Seizing the opportunity, Ning Fei swam forward a few strokes and immediately tossed the Healing Pill into its mouth.

The entire process was quick and clean.

With Submarine Type A following from behind, the viewers didn't even notice Ning Fei taking a pill from the lining of his diving suit and tossing it to the sperm whale.

The pill was not large at all. Compared to the sperm whale's body weight, it was practically microscopic.

Ning Fei was still worrying about whether he had succeeded when the System's prompt for mission completion rang out in his mind.

It was finally done.

Ning Fei secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

By this time, the oxygen in his tank was already two-thirds depleted.

Ning Fei was still in a relatively deep position and had to swim up as quickly as possible.

He cast one last glance at the sperm whale pod, reluctantly turning around and heading straight up.

At the same time, he explained, "My oxygen is almost out, so I need to go up quickly."

"Today's diving broadcast is also coming to an end."

Everyone really wanted to keep watching Ning Fei explore the mysterious ocean floor. After all, they had only seen the tip of the iceberg with the whale fall, and they already felt the wonder of the underwater species.

If they could see other scenes, they would definitely be even more thrilled.

"This patch of sea is relatively close to the coastline right now, so the fish resources below aren't considered all that abundant."

"The truly magnificent sights are out there in the vast depths of the ocean."

"Those places are uninhabited zones where the species are preserved the most completely, each with its own unique characteristics."

"In a while, I'll go exploring in a place like that."

Ning Fei spoke as he swam upward.

His movements were light and agile.

While swimming up, a sea turtle appeared in front of him, pushing backward forcefully with all four flippers simultaneously as it slowly paddled past his face.

Another large school of small, unnamed black fish swept past not far away, packed densely together like a tornado.

A few brightly colored little fish also followed along by Ning Fei's side. Ning Fei caught them, stroked their faces, and then let them go.

The small fish wagged their tails and happily continued following Ning Fei.

In Submarine Type A's live broadcast feed, Ning Fei just kept heading straight up, kicking his feet and slowly swimming upward until he broke the surface of the sea.

The moment Ning Fei popped out of the water, the drone rushed over.

The broadcast angle also switched to the drone's camera feed.

He had swum quite far during his dive, and the sun was about to set. The entire ocean looked like a sheet of deep blue, appearing much colder and more desolate.

Ning Fei sent his location using the communication system, and the young man driving the yacht would be coming to pick him up right away.

At this exact moment, a young man was lying on his side under his blankets, clutching his mobile phone and watching the live broadcast.

Suddenly, he seemed to spot a black dot moving on the surface of the sea behind Ning Fei.

"Look behind Temple Master Ning. Is something moving?"

He couldn't help but send a bullet comment.

This comment caught the attention of the others.

"You're right, there is something moving!"

"What is that?"

"It looks like a shark fin!"

"Fuck! It really is a shark fin!"

"Temple Master Ning, behind you!"

"Look behind you, quick!"

Everyone started screaming.

If there was one thing that terrified people the most on the ocean's surface, it was a black triangle slicing through the water.

Like the scythe of the Grim Reaper, it was inching closer and closer to Ning Fei.

The viewers broke out into a cold sweat in sheer terror.

The sight was too horrifying.

If the massive bodies of sperm whales brought visual terror, then a shark fin brought psychological terror.

At this moment, Ning Fei also noticed the commotion behind him.

Treading water, he turned around to look.

He saw the shark fin constantly drawing closer to him.

"It's a shark!"

Ning Fei's expression changed.

The seawater was, after all, the domain of marine life. Even though Ning Fei had plenty of strength, he was far less agile in the water than a shark.

"Sharks generally won't attack humans, as long as you aren't wearing brightly colored clothes or making overly drastic movements."

Seeing the shark, Ning Fei spoke to the viewers.

"A shark attacking a human is a low-probability event."

"If you encounter a shark on the water and you're close to the shore, swim quickly toward the coast. Otherwise, don't make any sudden movements, because no matter how fast you swim, you can never outswim a shark."

Ning Fei stared cautiously at the shark fin tearing toward him.

In reality, diving enthusiasts were eager to see sharks, as it was exceedingly difficult to get photos of them.

Furthermore, sharks genuinely didn't like eating humans. Ignoring all those delicious fish to come and eat an unprecedented creature wasn't their style, either.

What's more, sharks were actually rather fragile and could easily die.

Ning Fei knew several techniques to fight them off, such as gouging out their eyes, striking the shark's heart, and so on.

Of course, in a struggle like that, he could also get injured.

"This shark is probably just curious. It doesn't have any intention to attack."

Floating on the surface of the water, Ning Fei could already see the shark's face and eyes.

He had to admit, the shark's expression was truly fierce.

With the drone broadcasting in real-time, the viewers felt another surge of adrenaline upon seeing this scene.

That was a real, live massive shark!

Even if Temple Master Ning was a total badass on land, it was impossible for him to control ocean creatures too, right?

However, in the very next second, the shark's gaze seemed to change.

Spotting the look in the shark's eyes, Ning Fei frowned slightly.

He cursed inwardly, 'My luck is absolutely terrible.'

'To think I actually encountered a low-probability event like a shark attacking a human.'

He could tell that this shark truly did plan on attacking him.

However, Ning Fei had his own trump cards.

Seeing the shark's tail begin to thrash, he silently called out in his mind, 'Suppression Card.'
