Chapter 333: Office Feng Shui, Ning Fei's Guidance

  • Next Chapter

With everything at Qingfeng Temple settled, Ning Fei planned to take a trip to the Jiangzhe region.

Bai Yuanche had left him a tea garden, saying that the tea he had been cultivating for a long time was about to ripen and asked Ning Fei to harvest it.

Any tea grown by Bai Yuanche was definitely nothing ordinary.

'I've been drinking Shanyin Tea for so many years. It'll be nice to switch up the flavors,' Ning Fei thought.

'This is a good opportunity to visit Jiangzhe and Hujian.'

'I heard the tea gardens there stretch continuously for over ten thousand mu. Looking out, they form neat, uniform rows—a famous scenic view.'

Ning Fei made up his mind.

He had sold most of the fish from South Lake, though he kept a portion for Little Black Bear to live on.

Little Black Bear was steadily growing stronger and bolder. He was starting to look like a true black bear spirit.

Over at the Deer Sanctuary, the adult deer he purchased were already producing velvet antler. Though the yield was small, it meant the Deer Sanctuary was officially operational.

"You're going that far, brother? It'll take two days of driving," Bai Yi said, helping Ning Fei pack his things.

She hadn't played enough at Qingfeng Temple yet and found everything here incredibly interesting. Leaving so soon left her a bit reluctant.

"Yeah. Master left a tea garden behind, and this should be the perfect time for the tea to ripen. I'm going to pick some leaves for us to drink," Ning Fei replied.

"Couldn't you just hire someone to pick it? Why make the trip yourself?"

Hearing this, Ning Fei simply said, "I also want to see what a ten-thousand-mu tea garden looks like. There are many ethnic minorities there too, so we can experience their local customs."

Afterward, Ning Fei informed his viewers about his trip to the Jiangzhe tea estate, letting them know that his next live stream would be delayed by a couple of days.

The viewers felt particularly disappointed.

Then, Ning Fei packed his things, loaded Bai Yi and the little ones from Qingfeng Temple into the car, and headed straight for the Jiangzhe region.

On the road, Ning Fei played traditional-style music in the car.

Most of it was from singers like Xu Song, Jielun, Lihong, and Junjie—the golden hits of his era.

Listening to the music, Bai Yi said, "Brother, your taste in music is way better than my dad's!"

Hearing Bai Yi's words, Ning Fei gave a rare nod of agreement and commented, "Yeah. Master's taste is truly something else. He hums opera all day long and can sing any song in an opera style."

Bai Yi laughed brightly.

Back at their countryside villa, Bai Yuanche loved listening to and singing traditional opera. The mother and daughter felt helpless about it, but seeing his intoxicated expression, they couldn't bear to interrupt him.

"If you just look at the melodies, some operas are actually quite good. But the ones Master sings are way too ancient, so..." Ning Fei shook his head helplessly.

He had heard plenty of Bai Yuanche's opera singing when he was young. He genuinely liked a few of the nicer melodies, but he wasn't so fond of the rest.

The two chatted and laughed along the way, making the trip much more interesting than going out alone.

By roughly the afternoon of the second day, they arrived at Shancha County in Shancha City, Jiangzhe.

This place held Huaxia's largest tea-growing base, and many of the tea farmers belonged to ethnic minorities.

People dressed in traditional ethnic clothing could often be seen weaving through the tea gardens to harvest leaves.

It was a beautiful sight that put the mind at ease.

Following the address Bai Yuanche had given him, Ning Fei first contacted a man named Lin Chuan.

Initially, Ning Fei assumed this person was a tea garden owner at best.

However, when an imposing, extended Lincoln limousine appeared and a driver in a black suit opened the door for its passenger, Ning Fei knew this man was anything but simple.

Lin Chuan was the chairman of Huaxia Natural Camellia Co., Ltd., which also happened to be the largest tea company in Huaxia.

The tea industry was highly lucrative, meaning the capital backing Lin Chuan was massive.

Ning Fei hadn't expected this. Bai Yuanche had simply told him to find Lin Chuan to pick tea. Who would have thought Lin Chuan was the chairman of the Natural Camellia Company?

"Ning Guan master, I've been waiting for you."

Lin Chuan appeared extremely polite, immediately walking over to shake Ning Fei's hand.

The driver and bodyguards standing behind him watched with absolute shock at Lin Chuan's actions, tone, and demeanor.

After all, Lin Chuan never treated others like this on a normal day.

He usually looked down on everyone and rarely showed anyone courtesy.

Yet right now, his attitude toward Ning Fei was exceptionally respectful.

Ning Fei had a rough idea of why this was happening.

When he chatted with Bai Yuanche a couple of days ago, the older man had simply said, "I gave him some pointers back then. It seems his business grew massive afterward, and he's been trying to repay the favor ever since. It's quite troublesome."

Merchants, especially business tycoons, deeply believed in metaphysics.

The wealthier a person was, the more they believed in things like feng shui, fortune-telling, and luck.

Those who spent exorbitant sums of money to burn incense and pray to Buddha in temples, or fought for the first incense during the New Year, were almost entirely major businessmen.

"Hello, Boss Lin," Ning Fei replied.

"Please, come in. Your presence brings light to my humble abode. I hope Ning Guan master can offer a few pointers." Lin Chuan personally led the way, acting incredibly amiable.

Ning Fei could only smile. No wonder so many people on the internet pretended to be grandmasters; being treated like one actually felt pretty good.

Of course, Ning Fei was a genuine grandmaster.

"There's no need to be so polite. My master left a tea garden here, and I just want to go in and pick some tea," Ning Fei said.

"Master Bai's tea garden is located right inside my private tea garden. It has been perfectly preserved. Per his request, absolutely no one has gone near it, so you can rest easy on that front," Lin Chuan added.

Lin Chuan owned a private tea garden. The camellias here were all of the finest varieties, benefiting from exceptional geographical and hydrological conditions. Generally speaking, outsiders were never allowed into a place like this.

This was different from other tea gardens, which normally allowed tourists inside and weren't private spaces.

Lin Chuan first invited Ning Fei to his office, insisting that Grandmaster Ning give him some guidance.

Rumors were currently spreading across the internet that Ning Fei was an immortal, and since Ning Fei was Bai Yuanche's personal disciple, Lin Chuan naturally believed in his abilities.

Ning Fei felt helpless. No wonder his master hadn't wanted to come; Lin Chuan really was far too enthusiastic.

"Grandmaster Ning, how do you see my upcoming financial fortune? Are there any major hurdles, and how should I overcome them?" Lin Chuan asked impatiently the moment they entered the office.

Ning Fei didn't actually know how to read faces, but he did understand a bit about feng shui.

"Boss Lin, one cannot speak too much about a person's luck."

"However, I can tell you a few other things."

"For example, your sink."

Lin Chuan's office was incredibly luxurious. There was a small adjoining room equipped with a high-end sink, making it convenient for Lin Chuan to freshen up during the day.

Hearing Ning Fei's words, Lin Chuan immediately asked, "Grandmaster Ning, what do you mean?"

"Installing a sink in a place like this allows the water to affect the room's feng shui layout. It easily leads to 'leaking wealth' and will negatively impact your financial fortune."

"The sink must be kept far away from your desk. It's best not to have it inside the office at all."

Hearing this, Lin Chuan realized something. He slapped the table and immediately said, "So that's why!"

"Grandmaster Ning, your calculations are too accurate! I just finished renovating this office less than a month ago, and already a subordinate has embezzled a massive sum of company funds. If that isn't leaking wealth, what is!"

"You are truly amazing."

Ning Fei smiled at those words. In Lin Chuan's eyes, that smile seemed profound and unfathomable.

But in reality, Ning Fei had simply read a post about office feng shui on the internet in the past. He had found it interesting at the time and skimmed through it. He just casually brought it up here, never expecting Lin Chuan to automatically believe it.

Therefore, things like metaphysics were sometimes hard to define—if you believe in it, it exists; if you don't, it doesn't.

"Boss Lin, my cultivation is too shallow. I am far inferior to my master."

"It is more pressing that I head to the tea garden to harvest the leaves," Ning Fei added.

"That's absolutely no problem."

"I've already prepared a small courtyard for you right next to the tea garden. That's where Master Bai stayed back in the day," Lin Chuan added.

"Boss Lin, by the way, can I live stream inside this tea garden?"

"Not a problem, as long as you don't mention the exact location of the tea garden. Very few people recognize this place anyway, so the average person won't know where you are." Mentioning the tea garden, Lin Chuan nodded, reverting to his shrewd merchant persona.

Afterward, Ning Fei and Bai Yi took their leave and headed to the small courtyard to get settled.

Lin Chuan immediately called his subordinates over and had them tear out the sink in his office.

'Leaking wealth, leaking wealth... so that's it. No wonder money kept inexplicably disappearing after the office renovation. Thank goodness for Grandmaster Ning, otherwise, this trend of leaking wealth would have been unstoppable and affected my future development,' Lin Chuan thought to himself as he sipped his tea, his admiration for Ning Fei growing even deeper.
