Chapter 117: Chapter 117 Two Vs One

Ophelia and Oliver swung their weapons before they both stepped backward to take a breather. Ophelia then looked to the other side and saw that Honoria was currently struggling against Flora.

’As I thought. His monster is too much for Honoria to handle.’ Ophelia thought.

"Honoria! Retreat!"

Ophelia gave the order, and Honoria immediately flew back toward her. Ophelia glanced at her and saw wounds and bleeding marks all over her body. It had been a long time since someone had inflicted this much injury on Honoria.

Suddenly, a warm yellow light appeared and enveloped Honoria. The wounds all began to glow before they gradually closed and healed perfectly, leaving no trace behind.

"Alright! All of her wounds are healed!" Gloria said as she stood beside Ophelia.

"Gloria...thank you." Ophelia said slowly.

"It is nothing, Ophelia! Just focus on your fight. I will support you from behind."

Ophelia looked at Gloria for a moment before nodding. She then turned her attention back to Oliver once again.

"Ahh! Before that, Lumikee, cast Hidden Potential!" Gloria ordered as she struck a cute pose.

Lumikee immediately flew toward Ophelia and pressed her key against Ophelia’s forehead. Suddenly, a magical keyhole appeared on her forehead. Lumikee then twisted the key, and instantly, Ophelia felt a tremendous surge of power flowing through her body, as though something deep within her had been unlocked.

A powerful aura slowly began to rise from Ophelia’s body.

Lumikee then flew toward Honoria and did the same thing. The moment the key turned, Honoria’s eyes widened as a wave of strength coursed through her entire body.

On the opposite side of the battlefield, Oliver could feel the sudden change in pressure coming from both Ophelia and Honoria. He had been watching everything Gloria was doing.

"That girl... what skill did she use?" Oliver muttered. The increase in their strength was so obvious that even he could sense it from where he stood.

He then looked at the timer, and it now showed only 1 minute and 30 seconds before the platform would collapse. He did not have much time left and needed to defeat his enemy quickly.

It was time for Oliver to go all out.

A half-hearted offensive would not work against Ophelia, especially now that she seemed to have received a boost from Gloria. He needed to be smart about this.

"Flora."

Oliver turned and looked at her. He then leaned closer and whispered something into Flora’s ear.

"Hmm... interesting." Flora smiled as she listened to his plan.

"I will give it a try." A mischievous glint flashed across her eyes as she already began imagining the outcome.

"All the best now, Ophelia!" Gloria cheered enthusiastically.

At that moment, Ophelia and Honoria had already begun rushing toward Oliver at full speed, their strengthened auras surging around them as they charged across the battlefield.

Thump!

Flora suddenly stomped her foot onto the ground before she and Oliver split up, each heading in a different direction.

Ophelia quickly closed the distance and swung her gladius. A red trail followed behind her blade as it cut through the air. Oliver immediately raised his sword to block.

CLING!

The moment he blocked the attack, his arm was violently thrown upward by the impact.

The force behind the strike was terrifying, as though he had just blocked an object weighing hundreds of kilograms.

’What the hell is her strength!?’

Oliver clenched his teeth in pain as a sharp ache shot through his arm. The boost Gloria had given Ophelia was far more powerful than he had expected.

Ophelia did not give him any time to recover and immediately launched another strike.

This time, however, Oliver swiftly evaded it. There was no way he could continue blocking that kind of attack head-on. If he did, his arm would give out before the battle was over.

If he wanted to, he could simply switch to a class like Crimson Striker to counter Ophelia. However, he did not want to reveal all of his trump cards yet. Besides, he believed the other students were thinking the same thing and were also holding back some of their strongest abilities.

Thump!

Flora stomped her foot onto the floor once again.

She then summoned several Thorn Spears and launched them toward Honoria. Honoria swiftly moved left and right, weaving through the incoming projectiles. A few of the spears came too close to evade, forcing her to raise her shield to block them before swinging her gladius to knock the remaining spears aside.

Without slowing down, Honoria leaped high into the air.

The moment she reached Flora’s position, she thrust her gladius downward toward Flora’s head with tremendous force.

Flora quickly jumped away from the impact zone.

Boom!

The gladius slammed into the ground where Flora had been standing moments earlier.

Flora landed on the opposite side and immediately stomped her foot onto the ground once more.

Thump!

Flora continued doing the same thing several more times across the platform, constantly repositioning herself while blocking Honoria’s attacks.

At first, Ophelia focused entirely on Oliver, but after a while, she noticed that Flora seemed to be doing something suspicious.

Oliver was acting strangely as well.

Right now, he was doing nothing but evading and blocking her attacks without launching any counterattacks. It was as if he was deliberately stalling for time.

Ophelia’s eyes widened. Suddenly, she finally realized what they were planning. But it was already too late.

Oliver abruptly activated Quickstep and appeared behind Gloria, causing her to jump in surprise.

"Bye-bye! See you later." Oliver flashed her a bright smile.

Gloria’s face instantly turned red, and she instinctively waved her hand back at him. Then she froze.

"Wait! Why am I waving at him!? I’m still in the middle of a fight!"

Realizing her mistake, Gloria quickly ordered Lumikee to attack. Lumikee immediately preparing to release a small orb of light and fired it toward Oliver.

At the same time, Ophelia was already sprinting toward Oliver from behind Gloria, her expression filled with alarm.

However, for Oliver, all of the preparations were finally complete. He glanced at the timer. Only a few seconds remained before it reached zero.

A grin slowly appeared on his face.

BAM!

Oliver raised his dagger high before thrusting it into the ground.

At first, nothing seemed to happen.

Then suddenly, a crack appeared beneath the platform and rapidly spread across the central area. The fracture line raced forward with alarming speed, targeting the exact section where Gloria and Ophelia were standing.

BOOM!!

That entire section of the platform collapsed beneath them.

"Aaahhh!"

Gloria fell into the void below before her body transformed into light and disappeared.

Ophelia also lost her footing and fell, but Honoria reacted immediately and grabbed her before she could completely drop.

Ophelia’s eyes sharpened as she watched her friend get eliminated.

She quickly looked at the broken edge of the platform and noticed countless roots, vines, and plants woven throughout the structure.

At that moment, everything clicked into place. It confirmed the strange feeling she had been having all this time. Flora had not been randomly stomping around the battlefield.

She had been secretly planting vines and roots throughout the inside of the platform, gradually weakening the structure beneath their feet until it could no longer support its own weight and cracked by a single attack from Oliver.

Ophelia clenched her teeth.

’So that was their plan from the beginning...’

She immediately ordered Honoria to pull her back onto the platform. However, before they could do so, a loud sound echoed throughout the void.

Ting! Ting! Ting!

The timer had finally reached zero. Since Ophelia was already outside the platform when the countdown ended, she was considered eliminated. A pillar of light instantly enveloped her body.

Before disappearing, Ophelia shot Oliver an angry glare. Then her body dissolved into light and vanished from the battlefield.

"Huuu..." Oliver wiped the sweat from his forehead and let out a sigh of relief. Luckily, Ophelia had noticed his plan too late. Otherwise, all of them would have been eliminated together.

Flora moved closer to him and leaned toward his ear.

"Good thinking, Olive. That is why I love you!" Flora whispered with a cheerful smile.

"Focus, Flora. This is still just the beginning. There are still powerful opponents remaining."

Oliver’s eyes swept across the battlefield. Many platforms had already fallen. Of the remaining platforms, only one student remained standing on each of them, just like him.

The first round of eliminations had been far more brutal than expected.

"Hmmm... only one round has passed, and half of them are already gone. Looks like this will end quickly." Isaak chuckled as he observed the scene from his platform. He then tapped the monster beneath him.

The creature immediately let out a low growl. A moment later, the timer started once again, signaling the start of another round of fierce battles.

The arena that had briefly fallen silent was about to erupt into chaos once more!
