After leaving Celestial Pillar Peak, Zhaang Ye flew swiftly with a leather sack on his back, covering tens of thousands of miles in no time.
"CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP!"
While he was focused on flying, Zhaang Ye suddenly heard a few short chirps. As the sounds echoed, he felt a slight stir in the Heaven and Earth Essence Qi, and a faint black light abruptly shot toward him from behind!
"THUD! THUD! THUD!"
The leather sack on Zhaang Ye's back suddenly let out three tearing sounds, as if it had been viciously slashed three times. The sturdy sack began to rupture, making a series of ripping noises.
'Damn it! Where did this bird come from, going straight for my sack?'
Zhaang Ye cursed inwardly as his profound Spiritual Sense locked onto a black bird. With a wave of his hand, a massive Sword Gang split the air, slashing viciously toward the creature.
"CHIRP!"
Just as Zhaang Ye unleashed the Sword Gang, the black bird flashed. Its fist-sized body transformed into a streak of light invisible to the naked eye, and it effortlessly dodged his attack.
"THUD! THUD! THUD!"
After dodging Zhaang Ye's attack, the black bird landed on the leather sack once more. It pecked viciously three more times, tearing a huge gash in the bag.
'Holy crap!'
With a flicker of his will, Zhaang Ye instantly seized control of the Heaven and Earth Essence Qi in a hundred-zhang radius, causing the black bird's speed to drop in an instant. Seizing the opportunity, he unleashed a Tornado that locked onto the bird, intending to capture it alive.
"CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP! THUD! THUD! THUD!"
Trapped inside the Tornado, the black bird showed no signs of panic. It pecked viciously three times from within the spinning vortex, somehow managing to peck Zhaang Ye's Tornado apart. After dissipating the vortex, the bird's figure flashed and bizarrely vanished into the void. When it reappeared, it was already above Zhaang Ye's head!
"WHOOSH!"
From its beak, it spat out a faint stream of black gas. The gas condensed in the void without dispersing, clearly containing a terrifying poison.
With a thought, Zhaang Ye summoned a Tornado above his head to envelop the bird. But the moment the vortex appeared, the bird flew in a bizarre pattern and once again pecked it apart.
'What a bizarre bird!'
Zhaang Ye was truly stunned this time. The bird's flight speed was astonishingly fast; even he couldn't get a clear look at it. Furthermore, its flight patterns were exceptionally bizarre—it could fly in curves, move sideways, and even fly backward. What amazed him even more was the bird's incredible strength. Not even his Tornadoes could trap it!
'I refuse to believe it!'
Zhaang Ye snorted. With a flicker of his will, he abruptly stored the huge sack into his Small Space.
Startled to see the sack suddenly vanish, the black bird spread its wings to flee. But with the sack gone, Zhaang Ye no longer had to hold back, and his movements became much faster. The bird had barely flown a hundred zhang when dense golden Tornadoes erupted in front of it, blocking its escape.
"CHIRP! CHIRP!"
The black bird changed direction like lightning, diving downward. Just then, a sharp Sword Gang tore through the void toward it. The bird dodged desperately but was still grazed by the attack, and its feathers rained down from the sky.
"CHIRP!"
The black bird cried out in pain, gave a bizarre flash, and vanished. By the time it reappeared, it was already several hundred zhang away, too far for even Zhaang Ye to stop.
Zhaang Ye casually caught a few of the falling feathers. A glint flashed in his eyes as he thought, 'The aura on these feathers is a little familiar. That's right! It's identical to that guy Badam's aura! Heh heh, this bird must be his.'
Zhaang Ye sneered, then turned and flew at full speed toward Rising Sun Peak.
Not long after Zhaang Ye's figure disappeared, Badam materialized in the void. A bald bird was perched on his shoulder. It had lost nearly all of its feathers and looked as miserable as a plucked chicken.
Looking at the bird's wretched state, Badam was both shocked and heartbroken. The creature on his shoulder was a rare variant species from the Wilderness, with lightning-fast speed, terrifying strength, and human-like intelligence. The fact that Zhaang Ye had managed to injure such a creature was something Badam simply couldn't believe.
"AWOOO!"
Badam let out a wolf-like howl and muttered in a low voice, "Zhaang Ye, you dared to hurt my baby! I will absolutely not let you get away with this! I will never let you go!"
...
Rising Sun Peak.
On a sheer cliff on the northern face of the peak, Zhaang Ye stood with his eyes slightly closed, buffeted by howling gales.
The eastern face of Rising Sun Peak directly faced the sun, offering a perfect view of the sunrise. The southern face hosted several acres of Spirit Fields for cultivating Spirit Elixirs. The western face was overgrown with vegetation, making it a good place to practice Combat Skills and fight. As for the northern face, it was perpetually battered by strange and unpredictable winds.
Zhaang Ye now stood in the wind, aiming to comprehend the Wind Realm.
When he heard Lan Heying mention the Wind Realm, Zhaang Ye decided to temporarily abandon deducing his Cultivation Technique and focus on condensing the Three Flowers first. He stood in the wind, preparing to gain a deeper understanding of the Wind Realm so he could begin condensing the Three Flowers, starting with the very first petal.
The wind on the northern face of Rising Sun Peak was erratic. At times, it was like a giant, irresistible hammer smashing down from above. At others, it was like a gentle spring breeze, a lover's caress that brought comfort to his entire body. Sometimes it felt like strange snakes trying to bore into his body through his orifices. And other times, it would form Tornadoes powerful enough to easily lift objects weighing tens of thousands of jin into the sky.
Zhaang Ye's feet were planted firmly on a rock, his body trembling subtly. No matter how strong or strange the winds became, he remained standing, perfectly stable.
If a perceptive True Dao Expert had been there, they would have realized that Zhaang Ye's subtle trembling was completely neutralizing the force of the wind. This trembling was purely a physical instinct; he himself had his eyes closed and his breath held, focusing with all his might on comprehending the Wind Realm.
One day, two days, three days, four days.
Day after day, Zhaang Ye stood in the wind, the dust in his mind slowly being blown away, leaving behind utter clarity. He silently recalled all the different winds he had ever encountered: the spring breeze that caressed the face but held no chill; the refreshing breeze that soothed the entire body; the overwhelming gales that blotted out the sky; the howling north wind...
Eventually, within Zhaang Ye's spiritual world, only a single, pitch-black storm remained, spinning endlessly.
This pitch-black storm was the all-destroying Space Storm. The Space Storm was the king of all winds, containing its ultimate mysteries. To comprehend the secrets of the Space Storm was to become the King of the Wind!
Back in the Mammoth Cemetery, Zhaang Ye had witnessed a Space Storm for the first time, which inspired him to create the Mountain-Breaking Slash. Since then, he had slowly developed a profound intuition about it. Relying on this intuition, Zhaang Ye could easily summon Tornadoes to defeat his foes, allowing him to triumph over many geniuses.
Over and over, Zhaang Ye replayed his memory of the Space Storm. From its genesis and formation to the moment it tore apart the void and annihilated the world, every single detail resurfaced in his mind.
The fifth day, the sixth day, the seventh day...
Zhaang Ye's body gradually grew lighter. Without using his Thunderbolt Body Technique or drawing upon the Celestial River Righteous Qi within him, his body became lighter, more pliable, and strangely unpredictable...
Half a month later, four figures appeared on the northern face of Rising Sun Peak. They were none other than Boss Hua, Cao the Second, Mu the Third, and Teng the Fourth. All four of them had sallow, withered faces. In the palms of Cao the Second, Mu the Third, and Teng the Fourth, a verdant lotus grew, its three blossoms blooming magnificently in the wind.
Meanwhile, in Boss Hua's palms, a total of four lotus plants were growing. The snow-white blossoms and verdant leaves were a refreshing and pleasing sight.
Over the past month, the four had endured immense suffering to finally cultivate the Green Blood Spiritual Lotus. They were now utterly terrified of Zhaang Ye. The moment the Spiritual Lotuses were ready, they didn't dare delay for a second and immediately brought them to present to him.
Just as the four of them climbed onto the precipice, they all froze, staring dumbfoundedly at the scene before them.
Before them, Zhaang Ye floated amidst the gales like a spirit of the wind, or perhaps a light, fluttering feather. To their terror, there wasn't the slightest fluctuation of power coming from his body. In other words, he was floating in the wind without relying on any power whatsoever!
'Heavens! How is he doing that?'
Boss Hua, Cao the Second, Mu the Third, and Teng the Fourth were all shaken to their core. In the Barbaric World, only those who had cultivated to the True Dao Realm could fly. Yet here was Zhaang Ye, flying without using a single shred of power. It was something far beyond their comprehension!
"SWOOSH!"
Under their terrified gazes, Zhaang Ye, still floating in the air, seemed to awaken from a deep slumber as his eyes snapped open. The moment they opened, the perpetually windy precipice suddenly fell silent. Every last gust of wind vanished completely!
Zhaang Ye sat up in mid-air and let out a long, hearty laugh. "Hahahahaha! After a full ten days of comprehension, I have finally grasped the Wind Realm! Wind! Wind! Wind!"
As his voice echoed, violent winds erupted for dozens of miles in every direction, darkening the sky. The furious gales scraped across the ground, peeling up layers of soil and carrying huge rocks with them. The debris smashed violently against the cliff face, causing the massive precipice to tremble so intensely that it looked as if it could collapse at any moment!
Strangely, no matter how ferocious the gales became, the area within ten zhang of Zhaang Ye remained perfectly calm. Sitting there in the void, he was like the King of the Wind!
"Ah!"
Boss Hua, Cao the Second, Mu the Third, and Teng the Fourth felt a tremor deep within their souls. All four knelt in unison, pressing themselves flat against the ground. (To be continued.
