Overlord of the Wilderness
Chapter 360 - 341: That Scoundrel Zhaang Ye Is Truly Despicable and Shameless
One hundred zhang!
Fifty zhang!
Thirty zhang!
Relying on the Body Technique he comprehended from the "Cloud-Breaking Slash," Zhaang Ye had only chased for a few dozen li before he was just thirty zhang behind Fu Songcheng. A distance of thirty zhang was already within the attack range of a Martial Arts Ninth-Layer Expert. Zhaang Ye only needed to get a little closer to unleash a Thunderous Strike and kill the man.
’Zhaang Ye’s strength is just too formidable. There’s no way I can outrun him! If I want to live, my only choice is to risk everything in a final struggle!’ Knowing he couldn’t escape Zhaang Ye, an idea instantly formed in Fu Songcheng’s mind. With a flip of his hand, he pulled a fist-sized red hammer from his robes.
The moment the small hammer appeared, Zhaang Ye immediately sensed a dangerous aura from it. As his Mental Power swept over it, his expression changed slightly. ’A Meteor True Artifact?’
Fu Songcheng laughed sinisterly. "That’s right! Zhaang Ye, come and get me if you’re not afraid to die! I’ll take you down with me!"
Zhaang Ye’s brow furrowed. Meteor True Artifacts were exceptionally precious. The Wei Kingdom True Hall couldn’t even produce a single one, yet the Moon Country True Hall had given two of them to Fu Songcheng. They were simply outrageously wealthy.
Seeing Zhaang Ye’s frown, Fu Songcheng laughed maniacally. "Come on, come on! Zhaang Ye, why have you stopped? Let me tell you, my life is right here for the taking! Come and get it if you’ve got the guts! You might have been able to withstand the blast of a Meteor True Artifact once, but I’d like to see you take a second one!"
Zhaang Ye sneered. "Idiot! Do you really think I can’t do anything to you just because you’re holding a Meteor True Artifact? Back in the Great Rong Kingdom, you were holding one then, too, and I still beat you half to death!"
As he spoke, countless tornadoes suddenly appeared around Fu Songcheng. Zhaang Ye’s figure instantly vanished into them, as if he had disappeared into thin air!
After Zhaang Ye’s cultivation advanced to the Martial Arts Ninth Level Middle Stage and his Dragon Elephant Skill reached the Mid-stage Sixth Layer, his Control Power over the tornadoes had become even more formidable. With just a thought, the world filled with tornadoes, each one containing immense power. Even with Fu Songcheng’s Late-stage Martial Arts Ninth Layer cultivation, he couldn’t possibly eliminate every single one of the densely packed tornadoes!
SWOOSH!
Zhaang Ye’s figure flickered within the tornadoes, appearing at Fu Songcheng’s side in the blink of an eye. Although Fu Songcheng was on full alert, Zhaang Ye’s strength was so much greater that he remained completely unaware of his opponent’s arrival.
WHOOSH! One of Zhaang Ye’s hands shot out as if from the void, viciously chopping down on Fu Songcheng. Zhaang Ye used seventy percent of his strength in this strike—enough to easily slice an iron pillar as thick as a man’s embrace in two. But to his surprise, when Fu Songcheng took the blow, his body wasn’t cut in half!
’Not good! He’s wearing some kind of Treasure Armor; it blocked my Hand Blade!’ Zhaang Ye thought, slightly alarmed.
Just as Zhaang Ye sensed something was wrong, an extremely smug look appeared on Fu Songcheng’s face. The small, blood-red hammer in his hand suddenly erupted with a dazzling light and came smashing down toward Zhaang Ye!
As it turned out, Fu Songcheng knew he was no match for Zhaang Ye, even with the Meteor True Artifact. So, he had devised a plan: he deliberately revealed the artifact and goaded Zhaang Ye into attacking to lure him close. Then, he would rely on his Treasure Armor to take the blow, creating an opening to kill Zhaang Ye with the artifact’s blast!
The blood-colored hammer radiated a dazzling, sanguine light, locking firmly onto Zhaang Ye as it was about to descend. In that critical moment, Zhaang Ye finally displayed his extreme power. The Dragon Elephant Power within his body roared like thunder, his hand shot back like a lightning bolt, and with inconceivable speed, he seized Fu Songcheng’s wrist!
Although Fu Songcheng held an incredibly powerful Meteor True Artifact, Zhaang Ye had his wrist in a death grip. No matter how much power the hammer possessed, it could no longer strike its target.
’He actually caught my wrist!’ The smug look on Fu Songcheng’s face instantly turned to one of terror. He frantically circulated his True Qi, trying to bring the hammer down on Zhaang Ye, but Zhaang Ye’s strength was far superior. No matter how potent Fu Songcheng’s True Qi was, he could not break free from that five-fingered grip.
A mocking expression appeared on Zhaang Ye’s face. The Dragon Elephant Power in his body suddenly surged forth, and his five fingers instantly began to gleam with golden light. As the light erupted, Zhaang Ye tore!
CRACK!
Zhaang Ye brutally ripped off Fu Songcheng’s entire arm!
"AHH—" SPFFT! SPFFT! SPFFT! With his arm torn off, Fu Songcheng spat out several mouthfuls of blood. A strange rattling sound emanated from his body, and unable to utter another word, he collapsed to the ground, dead.
Fu Songcheng had taken Zhaang Ye’s Hand Blade head-on. Despite the protection of the Treasure Armor, he had still suffered extremely severe internal injuries. After his arm was ripped off, the qi and blood in his body descended into chaos, causing a fatal cultivation deviation. He died on the spot.
WHOOSH!
Without a moment’s hesitation, Zhaang Ye flung the severed arm—and the blood-red hammer still clutched in its hand—far into the distance. When the hammer had flown over three hundred zhang away, it exploded in mid-air with a deafening BOOM! An incredibly terrifying force instantly flattened everything within a two-li radius.
Zhaang Ye stood motionless as his True Qi formed into tornadoes, creating layer upon layer of protection around him. Though the power unleashed by the hammer was immense, its force had greatly diminished over a distance of three hundred zhang and could no longer harm him.
Once the dust settled, Zhaang Ye made a grasping motion, pulling Fu Songcheng’s corpse toward him. He swept his Spiritual Power over the body, and with a slight twitch of his fingers, he retrieved over a dozen bottles of Elixirs and a Martial Arts Secret Manual. After storing these items in his Small Space, Zhaang Ye grabbed the corpse and gave it a shake, causing a thin, white Treasure Armor to appear in his hand.
After examining the white Treasure Armor, Zhaang Ye put it on without hesitation. It was light, thin, and extremely pliable. Even his incredibly sharp Hand Blade had only managed to leave a tiny crack on it—a truly rare treasure. Zhaang Ye was spending all his time fighting lately, and wearing this armor was like having an extra life.
BZZZZZZ—
Just as he finished putting on the Treasure Armor, Zhaang Ye suddenly heard a strange buzzing sound. He looked up and saw a hillside over twenty li away, where the colorful flowers and lush green grass were suddenly turning an eerie black. This strange blackness abruptly took flight, forming a dark, oppressive cloud that sped toward him.
Zhaang Ye glanced at the black cloud, and his eyes widened. The cloud was actually a dense swarm of bizarre bees. They were entirely black, as if forged from Profound Iron. On the front of their bodies was an incredibly sharp black stinger that faintly glinted with a blue light, a clear sign that it contained an extremely potent venom.
’Heavens, those are Death Bees, one of the Five Great Fierce Beasts of the Little World! The swarm must have been disturbed by the explosion!’ Alarmed, Zhaang Ye’s True Qi surged, and his body shot into the air, flying away at full speed.
The Death Bees were classified as one of the Five Great Fierce Beasts for two reasons. First, their stingers contained a lethal venom that not even a Late-stage Martial Arts Ninth Layer expert could withstand. Second, they traveled in swarms, flew at incredible speeds, and possessed an exceptionally keen sense of smell. Once they locked onto a target, even an expert at the Peak of Martial Arts Ninth Layer would face certain death.
There was only one way to escape the Death Bees’ venomous stingers: outrun them. Zhaang Ye had read about the bees before entering the Little World, so he knew he absolutely could not let them lock onto him. The moment he was airborne, he fully unleashed his Tornado Body Technique, flying off with a thunderous roar.
Zhaang Ye’s Body Technique was incredibly fast, but the swarm of Death Bees was by no means slow. Even after flying for over five hundred li, the swarm was still hot on his heels, making his scalp tingle with dread.
After flying for another hundred-plus li, Zhaang Ye suddenly spotted a figure standing in the empty space ahead—a young man with fiery red hair. It was none other than Yangx Guyuan, hailed as the foremost expert of the younger generation among the Thirteen Countries of the Land Abandoned by God.
Upon seeing Zhaang Ye, Yangx Guyuan’s eyes instantly filled with a naked lust for battle. He shouted, "Zhaang Ye, are you looking for a fight? Bring it on!"
’This kid... instead of searching for Essence Stones in the Little World, he actually wants to fight me? What a battle maniac!’ Zhaang Ye cursed inwardly, but he laughed heartily and said, "Of course! Brother Yangx, your reputation precedes you! It’s my lifelong wish to have a match with you. Just give me a moment, Brother Yangx. I need to go up ahead to regulate my breathing, and then I’ll be right back to fight you for three hundred rounds!"
As he spoke, Zhaang Ye’s figure shot past Yangx Guyuan, disappearing several li into the distance in the blink of an eye.
Watching Zhaang Ye hurry away, a cold sneer flashed in Yangx Guyuan’s eyes. He muttered to himself, "Regulate his breathing? Ha! That kid Zhaang Ye clearly doesn’t dare to fight me. He’s just making up an excuse to run..."
He hadn’t even finished his thought when his eyes widened, staring fixedly at a black cloud over ten li away. As he focused, he finally made out what it was. His soul nearly fled his body in terror, and his fiery red hair stood on end. "Heavens, it’s the Death Bees, one of the Five Great Fierce Beasts! That scoundrel Zhaang Ye! He deliberately led the swarm to me! How despicable and shameless!"
As he spoke, a burst of crimson flame erupted from his body. Taking advantage of the brief moment before the Death Bees arrived, Yangx Guyuan frantically unleashed his Body Technique and fled for his life.
