Chapter 147: American Illusion. Engineers Negotiation. Hinata Uzumaki +18

"You seem trapped in the standard American illusion of freedom," you continue. "I was born and raised here in the supposed land of freedom and chose the term slavery fully aware and slightly more educated than most of its historical contexts. What I'm giving each of you is a direct disclosure choice. That's much fairer than our country ever was."

Patricia Oakes's jaw tightens. "The American illusion? That's what you're calling this?"

Rodriguez shifts his weight. "You're saying we're freer as your slaves than we were as Americans?"

"I'm saying you know exactly what you're agreeing to, exactly what you'll receive, and exactly when it ends." You gesture toward the three dominated engineers standing motionless. "Historical slavery gave people none of those things. American wage labor pretends to give you freedom while trapping you in systems you can't escape. I'm telling you up front - this many years of service, these specific benefits, then you're done. No hidden clauses. No economic coercion pretending to be choice."

David Chao exhales slowly. "That's... actually more honest than most employment contracts I've signed."

"Relatedly disappointing, but not unexpected." You cross your arms. "How many jobs have you worked where the company pretended you could quit anytime, but quitting meant losing healthcare, losing your home, destroying your family's stability? Where they knew they owned forty hours of your week but acted like it was voluntary?"

A younger woman speaks quietly. "My last job made me sign a non-compete that would've prevented me from working anywhere in my field for two years if I quit."

"Right. America already practices slavery with evasive words and extra steps, pretending it's not." You meet Patricia's eyes. "The difference is I'm calling it what it is, giving you the choice to refuse entirely, and guaranteeing you come out biologically identical to how you went in. If you'd rather be dead, I'll reverse the resurrection right now. If you want to participate, you know the terms. No pretense."

Patricia studies you for several seconds. "You're an asshole for framing it this way."

"Undoubtedly." you agree. "But I'm an honest asshole operating in an apocalypse. What's your answer?"

Rodriguez glances at the other engineers. "Can we discuss this privately before deciding?"

"You have thirty minutes," you reply. "Use the adjacent conference room. Hinata will stand outside the door - not to prevent you from leaving, but to answer questions if you have them."

The engineers begin moving out slowly, casting uncertain glances toward the dominated trio still standing motionless in the corner.

You raise your hand toward the three dominated engineers. "These three have hopefully gotten over the screaming stage."

The spells dissolve. Marcus Chen blinks rapidly, his rigid posture softening. Jennifer Liu gasps and sits down hard against the wall. Thomas Wade touches his face with trembling hands.

"The nineteen of you have equal rights for choosing," you continue. "I won't use mind control to influence that."

The last of the engineers file out toward the adjacent conference room, Patricia casting one final calculating look back at you. Hinata follows them, her maid skirt swishing as she takes position outside the door.

Albedo steps beside you immediately, her fingers gentle as she guides your head into the valley between her breasts. The soft fabric of her white dress frames pale skin, and you place your hands on her waist, letting tension drain from your shoulders.

"Grid restoration requires territorial control we don't have," Bulma's voice carries from where she's studying her tablet. "Sequential verification means coordinating dozens of substations across hundreds of miles. We'd need an army just to secure the inspection routes."

"Or political authority to organize regional survivors," C.C. adds from where she leans against the wall. "Neither option exists."

Rika shifts her tactical vest. "So the dam generates power nobody can access except through our magical network."

"Most timelines show the same pattern," Kurumi says, her heterochromatic eyes distant. "Either Brad's small generators sustain scattered communities, or regions stay dark for years. Only a few variants show potential for coordinated grid restoration within twelve months."

Sinon frowns. "Then what's the point of resurrecting the workers? If we can't reconnect the grid, their expertise doesn't matter."

Musashi looks up from where she's been examining personnel files. "The revived people may or may not feel grateful - that depends on individuals. But they won't be useful for at least a year based on what we just heard. Their expertise becomes valuable when locals start attempting reconnection on their own. That's when engineers who understand the systems matter."

"A year from now," Rika repeats flatly.

Bulma sets down her tablet. "We enchant multiple dams, create independent magical networks, let survivor communities reconnect substations at whatever pace they can manage. Engineering knowledge becomes valuable when they're ready to use it."

You pull back from Albedo's cleavage, meeting her golden eyes briefly. "The question is: do we continue resurrecting engineers while we enchant the dams, compelling them all to patient semi-isolated servitude for the first year before locals start seeking them out? Or wait until locals start setting up around the functioning dams and skip resurrecting their specialists?"

Bulma glances up. "Let's ask the engineers. They can answer for their colleagues."

You rise, pressing a gentle kiss to Albedo's lips. She accepts it with quiet satisfaction, her fingers trailing across your shoulder as you step away.

"Thank you for the moment," you murmur, straightening your shirt.

Fourteen minutes pass before Hinata opens the conference room door. The engineers file back in - Patricia Oakes leading, David Chao and Rodriguez flanking her. The three formerly dominated engineers trail behind, still processing their recent autonomy.

Patricia speaks first. "We've discussed your terms. We want specific work assignments - dam maintenance, grid consultation when communities are ready, technical training for survivors. Not undefined slavery."

"Agreed," you reply immediately.

Patricia blinks. David's mouth opens slightly. Rodriguez recovers first.

"That's... we expected negotiation."

"You're specialists offering exactly what's needed." You gesture toward the equipment around you. "Your expertise becomes valuable when survivors organize reconnection efforts. Specified roles work better than vague servitude."

Patricia's jaw tightens, reassessing. "What's the catch?"

"Catches, plural. It will be almost a year before the local survivors come looking to reconnect electricity. Your rings are limited to five miles from the dam." You point to the silver band on Marcus Chen's finger. "Beyond that range, they become worthless. In a zombie apocalypse currently overrun with starving survivors and criminals who'll wonder why you don't look starved yourselves."

The engineers exchange glances. Chen touches his ring unconsciously. Jennifer Liu's expression shifts from relief to calculation.

"So even if we wanted to leave..." David trails off.

"The only thing keeping you alive for at least the next year would be proximity to this dam," you finish. "Which brings us back to a question we asked while you were talking. Do we resurrect engineers at the other dams while enchanting them? Or wait until survivor communities form before bringing back specialists?"

Rodriguez speaks after a pause. "If you're resurrecting people, resurrect everyone who matters. Waking up isolated is worse than staying dead. Either commit to rebuilding the personnel infrastructure at each dam, or leave them until communities need them."

Patricia nods slowly. "He's right. Don't resurrect us piecemeal. Either bring back full operational teams when you enchant the dams, or wait until there's reason for us to exist."

David adds quietly, "And if you do resurrect others... give them the same choice you gave us."

"Confidently decided, I appreciate that." you reply. "This gives us a good opportunity. Please show me to a smaller dead-end hallway or room, preferably at least ten feet wide. I'm going to make a pair of teleportation circles to allow the engineers to travel between dams as we progress."

Rodriguez's eyes widen. "Teleportation? That's actually real?"

Patricia Oakes gestures to the others. "We're resurrected dead people discussing magical infrastructure. Why wouldn't teleportation be real?"

"Fair point," David Chao mutters.

Patricia leads your group down a side corridor, passing through two security doors before reaching a maintenance alcove approximately twelve feet wide. Electrical panels line one wall, pipes run along the ceiling, and the concrete floor shows decades of scuff marks.

"This work?" she asks.

You step into the center, assessing the space. "Slightly worried about the purpose of this room, but otherwise perfect."

The engineers crowd behind you - nineteen resurrected specialists. Hinata and Kurumi stand beside you in their maid outfits. Albedo watches from the doorway, arms crossed beneath her breasts.

"Since there's not a second dam yet," you explain while drawing mana from the network, "I'll just make one one-way to the dam's command room as proof of concept. We'll replace it with both ways to and from the next dam when we enchant it tomorrow."

Golden light traces across the concrete floor. Patterns form - concentric circles, runic script forming a spatial anchor. The circle settles into the floor itself, glowing faintly.

"That's..." Rodriguez trails off.

You step onto the circle. "Follow me."

The transition happens instantly. One moment you're in the maintenance alcove, the next you're standing in the management room where you resurrected them thirty minutes ago. The engineers stumble through behind you, several gasping.

"Holy shit," David whispers.

"This won't solve the isolation issue completely," you continue, "but you'll be able to entertain each other once we establish the network. From wherever they are on the world, you'll have colleagues within seconds."

Patricia studies the floor where you arrived. "The circle on this end..."

"Will remain directed to this room as the destination point until I replace it tomorrow, yes you can all play with it as much as you want." You turn toward the shimmering Gate still open to the Anchorage command center. "Any other questions?"

The engineers exchange glances. Thomas Wade finally speaks - his first words since you dispelled the domination. "When do we start actual work?"

"Once locals finish trying to kill each other and determine dams might be able to source power." You gesture toward the Gate. "Probably a list of visiting groups surprised to see you alive and they will be as disappointed as we are to learn that getting the power back on won't be easy, then six to eight months before the first attempts. Keep your hopes low, it will be a long time."

Your group files through the Gate - Albedo, Hinata, Bulma, Kurumi, Rika, Musashi, Sinon, Yoruichi following you back to the Anchorage command center. The portal closes behind you with a soft pulse of displaced air.

Robin looks up from where she's been monitoring communications. "Engineers stabilized?"

"They accepted servitude terms with specified roles, that works for me." you confirm. "Dam's network connection established. We'll make a project of enchant one dam a day."

"I'll call it good for today's magic testing," you announce to the group. "We can consider making a network of Teleportation Circles - might make a few around the ship and label the walls."

Kurumi's heterochromatic eyes brighten immediately. "Master, there's a timeline I'd like Hinata to see." She glances toward Maria. "Would you join us? We'll need you in a particular... position."

Maria straightens, violet eyes assessing. "What are you planning?"

"Doggy-style," Kurumi says with her characteristic playful smile. "While Master rides you. Hinata will share her experience via the Telepathy Web."

Maria nods slowly. "Timeline-sharing. I understand."

Hinata's lavender eyes widen slightly behind you. "Kurumi-san, what will I be observing?"

"An alternate version of our Master," Kurumi replies. "One who took a different path with someone you know. You'll understand why I want you to see it."

You lead the four of them - Kurumi, Maria, Hinata, and yourself - down the corridor to a nearby officer's quarters. The room contains a desk, chair, and narrow bed. Kurumi closes the door behind you with a soft click.

"Maria, on your hands and knees facing the desk," Kurumi directs. "Master, mount her from behind. Hinata, sit on the desk in front of them and establish telepathic link with Maria."

Maria strips quickly, folding her slim outfit on the chair before positioning herself as instructed. Her pale skin catches the overhead light as she braces against the floor. You move behind her, unfastening your cargo pants.

Hinata climbs onto the desk, her miniskirt riding up as she settles into position. She reaches beneath the fabric and slides her panties down, setting them aside. Her lavender eyes meet yours with quiet trust.

"Enjoy her, Master," Kurumi murmurs, stepping behind you. "I'll join you in a moment."

You grip Maria's hips and stroke gently before pushing inside her. She exhales sharply, back arching as you fill her completely. The familiar heat and tightness surrounds your cock as you begin thrusting steadily.

Kurumi presses against your back, her breasts soft through the thin fabric of her French maid uniform. Her nipples harden as she rubs them against your shoulder blades. "Hinata, establish the link to Maria now."

Hinata nods. "Connection established, Kurumi-san."

You lean forward, wrapping one arm around Hinata and kissing a circle around her pussy before you slide your tongue in. Maria and Hinata both gasp, their internal muscles clenching around your insertions. The wet sounds of penetration fill the small room.

"Good," Kurumi whispers. "Now watch."

The timeline perception floods through the telepathic link. You feel it distantly - Kurumi's ability extending through your telepathy web. What they see, you glimpse peripherally.

Another you. Dark-haired, muscular, riding a woman hard. But this woman is older than Hinata - fuller-figured, with the same lavender eyes and shorter dark hair. Hinata Uzumaki. A mother. The other you grips her thighs brutally, his face twisted with anger and possessive jealousy.

"Tell me you're mine," he snarls, slapping her ass. The older Hinata cries out, her expression caught between lust and fear. "Say it!"

"I'm yours," she pants between thrusts. "I'm yours!"

"Himawari will be safe as long as you're obedient." His hand wraps around her throat. "You are obedient, aren't you?"

"Yes!" Tears streak down her face. "Yes, I'm obedient!"

He slowly kisses her nipples gently before releasing and smacking them. His rhythm becomes brutal. "You chose Naruto. You chose him over everything. Now you're mine. Tell me!"

"I'm yours," the older Hinata sobs. "I'm yours, I'm yours!"

They climax together - his roar of possession, her broken cry of submission.

Kurumi severs the perception abruptly.

You're still thrusting into Maria, her body trembling beneath you. Hinata sits frozen on the desk, her lavender eyes wide and glistening. Her hand has moved into your hair unconsciously.

You slow your rhythm inside Maria, your thrusts becoming languid as you lean forward. Your tongue traces the outer folds of Hinata's pussy with deliberate gentleness before you speak.

"I can understand how that timeline would happen," you murmur against her skin. Hinata's breath catches. "Hinata Uzumaki may simply be the older Hinata Hyuuga that I loved. But the unavoidable connection with Naruto - the knowledge of their intimacy - would enrage me."

Maria's internal muscles clench around your cock as she processes your words through the telepathic link. You feel her recognition bleeding through - the succubus understanding possession dynamics instinctively.

"Having her near wouldn't be enough," you continue, placing another soft kiss against Hinata's clit. She shivers. "Without something, someone to distract me from the jealousy. There was likely a disagreement in that timeline because of his daily treatment reducing even those distractions."

Kurumi's presence presses against your back, her nipples hard through the thin fabric. Her heterochromatic eyes gleam with approval you can feel without seeing.

"Himawari, her daughter being threatened..." You pause, your tongue circling Hinata's entrance slowly. "She's either being handled gentler in a different place, or raped just as hard because they both remind him of the Hinata he can't have."

Hinata's hand tightens in your hair. Not pulling away - grounding herself.

"He'll probably start trying to reduce her apparent age. Then erase memories. Hers first, then his own." You meet Hinata's lavender eyes. "This is one of the reasons I slowed down your confession by making you receive oral six times before I'd accept you. I wanted to make sure we wouldn't become that."

Silence fills the small room except for Maria's quiet breathing beneath you.

You resume your earlier pace, filling Maria with steady thrusts while placing one more gentle kiss on Hinata's pussy. "Hinata. What did you understand?"

Hinata's voice comes soft but clear. "That Goshujin-sama's restraint... was protecting me from his possession." Her fingers trace your jawline. "The challenge gave me security because Goshujin-sama knew his own capacity for jealousy."

Maria gasps as you angle deeper. "The... the consent rules exists because Brad recognized what he could become without it."

Kurumi whispers against your ear. "Across most timelines, the ones where you built your own rules first were the ones where everyone survived intact. The timelines where your sins overcome you first..." She trails off deliberately.

Hinata's expression shows profound understanding rather than fear. "Thank you, Goshujin-sama. For protecting me from yourself."
