Chapter 1476: Chapter 1476: Advancement Achieved

"I know this might sound like incitement, but it’s heartfelt. This time, you can use Pei Yan to deal with your enemies, and from then on, let him become your most excellent subordinate. With him holding the fort, I think after dealing with Blood Brake, the other major realms will not dare underestimate the Keystone Realm. This will afford you a long period of development in the future. But if he advances further, I’m really worried if you can still control him?" Lin Ruxue stared intently at Pei Yan, who was suspended in the air gradually adapting to his new state, and spoke frankly to Lin Junzhao beside her.

After listening to Lin Ruxue’s words, Lin Junzhao remained silent. Finally, he spoke quietly, "I understand. I’ll pay attention."

In the arena, Pei Yan continued to unleash his might, until his twisted body began to move freely under his conscious control. Only then did he start to restrain his aura and slowly descend from mid-air. Once everything was confirmed to be safe, the Array Protection Elder withdrew the Protective Array, and the investigation team members immediately surrounded Pei Yan.

"Pei Yan, have you successfully advanced?" Yu Zhongmin was the first to rush to Pei Yan, timely showing the concern of a superior.

Pei Yan did not speak, only nodded with difficulty. His gaze scanned the crowd and saw Ye Jiumu sitting in a wheelchair. His expression lit up with joy, he wanted to say something but his body convulsed and the words stuck in his throat.

"Pei Yan, what’s wrong with you?" Gu Shenghui and Zhao Yuanhu hurriedly approached from both sides to support Pei Yan, but as soon as the latter touched Pei Yan, he let out a startled cry and quickly pulled his hand back.

"So hot! Pei Yan, why is your body so hot?" Zhao Yuanhu looked at his red and swollen palm from the burn, urgently circulated source energy for self-healing. Pei Yan’s surface temperature was far beyond an ordinary person, as hot as an iron, yet strangely those around him felt no heat, hence Zhao Yuanhu’s unprepared hand got burned.

Encasing his hand with source energy, Gu Shenghui also noticed the issue. He was about to ask but heard Pei Yan barely squeeze out a few words from his throat: "Go, take me to a safe place to rest and then we’ll talk."

"Alright!" Upon hearing this, Gu Shenghui didn’t hesitate, lifted Pei Yan and left. The others saw this and surrounded him as they withdrew, leaving Mei Simiao and a group of supportive elders from various factions behind to explain.

The investigation team didn’t pause at all, rushing straight to the Teleportation Array, because they realized Pei Yan’s body temperature was rising and he wasn’t in good condition, unable to use space jumps or high-speed movement. Only Ye Ruozai and Gu Shenghui could take turns dragging Pei Yan quickly toward the Teleportation Array. After the bumpy journey through the array, they returned to the Immortal Palace and dashed back to the investigation hall in the palace’s affiliated compound.

"Yuan Hu, Xia Yu, you girls, come up and help me take care of my sister." Just as they burst into the compound hall, Pei Yan pushed aside those supporting him and stumbled upstairs, while enduring severe body spasms, he looked around the crowd, instructing several girls.

"Alright! Alright! Leave it to us!" Zhao Yuanhu, sweating profusely, eagerly agreed.

Receiving this assurance, without turning back, Pei Yan rushed into his room on the second floor. Zhao Yuanhu and others followed right in, only to see Pei Yan half-kneel and collapse on the ground, his body shaking fiercely and producing multiple afterimages. Zhao Yuanhu and Liang Qian tried to step forward to support but were stopped by Xia Yu who raised her hand and advised, "Wait a bit longer!"

At this moment, Pei Yan, kneeling on the ground, could no longer maintain his current form; two illusory figures split from his body, and simultaneously, three mixed cries of pain and relief echoed in the room.

Seeing this, Xia Yu and others no longer hesitated, noticing that Pei Jin’s body was covered with large patches of red spots, they immediately understood Pei Yan’s purpose in calling them here. Zhao Yuanhu quickly ran into the bedroom, pulled out a thick sheet, and together with Xia Yu, wrapped Pei Jin up. After the separation, Pei Yan’s pain was lessened significantly, and he instructed, "Take my sister to another room; help me take good care of her."

"Alright! No problem, how can we alleviate this condition?" Zhao Yuanhu, now supporting Pei Jin, asked Pei Yan upon hearing this.

"This is the rejection reaction after merging; she will be in significant pain but will heal on her own after a period. Once the red spots slightly subside, help me prepare hot water for her bath; a proper soak can relieve this pain." Pei Yan, now slumped on the ground, spoke feebly.

"Understood! Leave it to us! Are you two alright yourselves?" Xia Yu glanced at Pei Yan and Hu Jiu lying like dead fish on the ground, both worrying and amused.

Pei Yan seemed too lazy to speak, rubbing his face against the floor and shook his head to indicate they didn’t need to worry about him. Zhao Yuanhu exchanged a wry smile with Xia Yu and helped support Pei Jin out of the room alongside Liang Qian. As they left, Liang Qian made a gesture towards the anxious Wang Wenze waiting outside the room, saying, "You can probably go in now."

"Hmm, is Pei Jin alright?" Gu Shenghui asked, glancing at Pei Jin securely wrapped as they entered the room.

"She’ll be fine, leave that to us and quickly check on the two inside."

After Gu Shenghui and the few girls inquiring about Pei Jin’s condition entered the room, the group that entered earlier had already skillfully lifted Pei Yan and Hu Jiu onto two wooden beds in the inner and outer bedrooms. Gu Shenghui first checked Hu Jiu, discovering the simple-minded fellow snoring heavily and upon lifting the covers to inspect his injuries, saw starry red spots covering his body, but receding rapidly.

Confirming Hu Jiu was fine, Gu Shenghui came to check on Pei Yan lying on the inner bed, who at this point was surveying the surroundings and upon seeing Gu Shenghui, asked, "How many days did I spend advancing?"

Gu Shenghui, knowing what Pei Yan was concerned about, replied with a smile, "Exactly nine days today, factoring in the three-day delay before, three days are still left until the appointed time. Do you think your body can handle it? If not, tell me soon, I’ll have Mei Simiao find a way to postpone it. Such things can’t be forced."

Hearing that there are still three days, Pei Yan let out a relieved sigh and cheerfully said, "It’s in time! No postponement needed, let me rest; give me a day’s sleep and I’ll be back on my feet. If I don’t wake within a day, you can forcibly rouse me."

"Alright, then have a good rest!" Gu Shenghui obliged, not pressing further, and waved to the crowd in the room urging them, "Alright, let’s all leave now, so Pei Yan can rest well."

After watching his friends leave the room, Pei Yan closed his heavy eyelids, experiencing the awakening of his newfound powers, gradually drifting off to sleep.
