Chapter 1456: Chapter 1456: Flamel’s Deal

In the flickering light, Flamel’s words caused an uproar, the envoys from the Immortal Palace and Dragon Realm were visibly displeased. Before this matter, they had an attitude of mere spectators towards the conflict between Flamel and Pei Yan that started at the Sword Discussion Conference. While they weren’t gloating, they felt it was none of their business and even found it somewhat entertaining. However, Flamel’s recent dealings with Bai Ze had drawn them all into the fray. If Bai Ze truly accepted this proposal, not only would the Investigation Hall but all those accompanying would potentially face the danger of an ambush.

Seeing this, Pei Yan still remained silent, continuing to chew on the food in his mouth, coldly observing the developments in the flickering light. The image playing inside the crystal ball continued, as Bai Ze pondered for a moment before replying to Flamel’s proposal, "I accept your terms. We can exchange intelligence, and I will contact you if there is a need!"

"Good! I hope this time we can join forces to resolve this threat completely."

After Flamel finished speaking, their images gradually faded away. As a hazy mist rose and dispersed, the scene in the flickering light changed again. This time, the meeting wasn’t in a dirty, chaotic sewer-like tunnel, but in a building resembling a church. The two sat side by side in an inconspicuous corner, with the crystal ball recording from a more hidden position, capturing only their backs. Yet anyone could see they were still the subjects of the previous negotiation. Bai Ze and Flamel were there, with Bai Ze slightly disguised, wearing a hat commonly seen among locals in the Magic Planes, masking his extranormal features.

"Why? Why have you not acted against them this time?" As soon as they settled down, Flamel impatiently questioned Bai Ze.

Facing the questioning, Bai Ze calmly responded, "We have our plans. Everything naturally follows our plan’s main purpose. During this time, eliminating Pei Yan would be ideal, but only as long as it does not hinder our plan’s success."

Bai Ze knew that his words had stirred discontent in the other party, so he continued, "You needn’t doubt the sincerity of our transaction. Another reason we didn’t act this time is because the opportunity wasn’t right. The Investigation Hall people aren’t idiots. After several negotiations, they chose a trading location with a broad view, close to thin space barriers, making it hard for us to set an ambush. They could easily evade if something happened. More importantly, Pei Yan was not present at the trading site this time; his target was Delacuri himself, and they had chosen another battlefield better suited for him. So, based on these above reasons, we didn’t choose to act in this situation."

"Hmph! Bai Ze, you have many reasons but only this one chance. If you lose this chance for cooperation, Pei Yan will not easily set foot in the Magic Planes again, and we shall become enemies once more." Despite Bai Ze’s supposedly reasonable argument, Flamel was still dissatisfied with the lack of action and mocked with disdain.

"Mr. Flamel, do we need to be so realistic and quickly choose to burn bridges?" Bai Ze said, shaking his head with a bitter smile, "Wanting to be enemies again should wait until Pei Yan is eliminated. Opportunities still exist! Who said Pei Yan won’t return to the Magic Planes? Delacuri may have died, but the Vlad family remains. Based on his personality and grudges with this family, he wouldn’t give them a chance to lick their wounds, restore their strength and retaliate. To completely eradicate the Vlad family, he will eventually delve into the Magic Planes. I believe the three major councils will soon receive a request for help from the Investigation Hall. You can use your connections to make it difficult for them; if it goes too smoothly, it would raise suspicions. But don’t make it too challenging, or they’ll seek other ways to solve the problem, and we’ll have many opportunities to maneuver."

"I hope it’s as you say! The help I can provide remains unchanged! If they do request our assistance in eradicating the Vlad family, I will find a way to infiltrate this team and report on their movements throughout! The witches at the Witch Association dislike trouble and probably won’t help me with this matter. I can only find someone from the Mage Tower or the Bright Church to do this."

Flamel’s words drew the attention of those gathered to the Bright Bishop traveling with him. Since the shadow play began, he had appeared anxious, and after these words, his face flushed red with anger. He wanted to destroy the crystal ball directly but was stopped by Audess.

"Why are you stopping me? Are we just going to let this play out and continue to humiliate us?" the Bright Church Bishop angrily questioned Audess’s actions.

"It’s you being humiliated!" Audess coldly replied, "I’m saving your life! Esteemed Bishop! Open your eyes, clouded by rage, and see clearly. If you dare attempt to destroy those three crystal balls, face what kind of assault you will incur? Do you truly think you can survive such a coordinated attack? I don’t think you have the strength!"

Saint Violet Witch is equivalent to the pinnacle of Heavenly Dao strength, naturally giving her the right to mock someone of ordinary Heavenly Dao strength like the Bishop. The Bright Bishop, after being taunted, looked over to the crystal ball’s location, finally realizing that, besides Pei Yan who was seated and seemingly careless but actually protected the crystal balls with elemental energy, there stood two women on his left and right—Xia Yu and Pei Jin—whom the Bishop hadn’t seen in action during this mission. But he knew they were Children of Origin participating in the Sword Discussion Conference. If surrounded by these three, he feared it would indeed be as Audess warned, with little chance of survival.

As he hesitated on his next move, the mist inside the crystal ball rose anew, causing the image to change once again.

This meeting place had not changed; it was still the church from before. Bai Ze had arrived first, having seated himself before purposely turning back to expose his face directly in front of the crystal ball, like greeting Pei Yan destined to watch this footage in the future, waving at the crystal ball.

Soon after his gesture, the enraged Flamel barged into the frame, without observing his surroundings, directly sitting beside Bai Ze, and immediately began to sternly question, "Why! Why haven’t you taken action this time? Are you stalling because you’re afraid of Pei Yan? Haha! With courage like yours, dreaming of meddling across the planes will just elicit laughter. I advise you to surrender soon, perhaps you can still retain some control over your own plane!"
