Chapter 1432: Chapter 1432: Pleading for Peace

"If I’m not mistaken, this person’s realm has yet to reach the Asura Realm. They would be equivalent to a seventh-level supernatural ability user, but to be able to employ moves akin to forbidden spells at this level, how could they be an unknown figure?" Liu Xuanji looked at Jiang Feiyang, who was standing with his hands on his hips, complacent and astonished, not far away.

"I saw him take out these mechanical puppet prototypes from a small box, all small objects, later activated by his abilities into their current form. This process took quite some time, which may be why he wasn’t prominent at the Sword Discussion Conference. He is more suited to assist in large-scale battles from the rear, rather than one-on-one confrontations," Feng Tianhe recalled the previous scene and made a correct prediction.

"Hmm! Quite possible!" Lin Daozi and Liu Xuanji both nodded in agreement. Such individuals are not uncommon in the Daoist Plane. They are proficient in various arrays, artifact refining mechanisms, and traps often eliminating opponents without showing themselves. However, their own realm might not be particularly superior, and if caught in close proximity, they can only await their fate.

"Afterward, I’ll talk to Pei Yan to learn more about this person. If the opportunity arises, I’ll find a way to befriend them," Lin Daozi thought of Feng Tianhe’s advice and promised him.

At this moment, Jiang Feiyang couldn’t help but feel somewhat euphoric facing the surrounding attention. This is the difference between supernatural ability users and cultivators from other planes. The latter equally values talent and effort, while the former leans heavily on the awakening of abilities. Even if their realm isn’t high, if their abilities are powerful like Pei Yan, Jiang Feiyang, or Liang Qian, they can unleash attack power far surpassing cultivators of the same level. However, this strength also holds vulnerabilities; compared to cultivators from other planes who can learn and master a broader scope of offensive and defensive moves, eventually utilizing the essence of heaven and earth for their own use, supernatural ability users’ greatest weakness is their singular attack method. Most can only develop one ability in their lifetime, and opportunities like Pei Yan’s to merge numerous abilities can only be sought, not planned.

Jiang Feiyang was very pleased with the current results. Although the Vlad Clan’s castle defenses under such intense attack showed no signs of collapsing, anyone could see that such aggressive attacks were gradually undermining its defensive power. From the second wave of assault, the castle’s ability to absorb blasts, as well as its self-recovery speed, had slowed. Jiang Feiyang believed that maintaining this aggressive approach would soon level the castle to the ground.

With this mindset, just as he was about to reduce the rocket launcher vehicles he had finished firing back to their model size, a figure emerged from the castle amidst overwhelming artillery fire, staggering towards Pei Yan and the others.

Seeing this situation, those in the investigation hall swiftly prepared for combat, but Pei Yan stopped his companions from acting. He roughly guessed the purpose of the visitor; a marquis-level Blood Race member coming alone in this scenario could either be to seek death, or sent to negotiate.

The development confirmed Pei Yan’s speculation. As the visitor was about to reach the outskirts of the investigation hall’s camp, he made a gesture of submission recognized across all planes, raising his hands high to indicate his intent wasn’t combat.

"Let him in!" Pei Yan said, picking from the cigar box the half-smoked cigar from last time and putting it in his mouth, lighting it with a flame flicked from his fingertip while urging Jiang Feiyang beside him to continue, "Keep going! Don’t stop the attack."

Shortly after, the Blood Race member entered the establishment under Xia Yu’s observation. When he wanted to approach Pei Yan for a face-to-face conversation, Pei Yan flicked his fingers, the sparking flame landing on the path ahead of him. With the cigar clasped between his fingers, Pei Yan exposed his disdainful sneer and said coldly, "Just stand there! If you have something to say, say it quickly."

The visitor had no choice but to stop, retract his raised hands, and slightly bow to Pei Yan as he introduced himself, "Honorable Mr. Pei Yan, I am a representative sent by the Vlad Clan...."

"I’m not interested in your name." Pei Yan clasped the cigar between his fingers and blew out smoke, indicating towards the cigar in his hand, "See this cigar? If you can’t finish saying what you want before I finish this cigar, you’ll never get another chance to speak."

Billbom was rendered awkward by Pei Yan’s domineering attitude, opening and closing his mouth unsure of how to react. Earlier in the castle, debates continued over when to negotiate with Pei Yan and under what conditions to secure his acceptance. Once Jiang Feiyang’s second wave of attack commenced, these discussions abruptly halted, everyone stunned by the upgraded onslaught. Those maintaining the castle’s magic array hurried over to report; at this intensity, at most, they could sustain fifteen rounds of defense before the magic array utterly collapsed.

Urgency dispensed any prior concerns for dignity; appointed by Ordin, he was dispatched to negotiate, though negotiation amounted to surrender! Ordin drastically lowered conditions, merely asking for the Vlad Clan’s survival. They were willing to forsake control over vassal families, revert to a small Blood Race clan. If Pei Yan still felt uneasy, they were ready to serve under investigation hall supervision.

Previously, the Vlad Clan always negotiated from the victor’s stance, accepting the defeated party’s flattering accolades. Now, with tides turned, Billbom felt a pang of sorrow. Yet, witnessing Pei Yan flick ash from his cigar, shortening it another bit, he understood time wasn’t on his side for sentimentality. Suppressing his dissatisfaction, he mustered a presumably flattering smile, looking at Pei Yan with entreaty, "Mr. Pei Yan, I’m here representing the Vlad Clan to request reconciliation with you. We hope...."

"I think you’ve misunderstood something—reconciliation? Did I hear that right?" Pei Yan spoke while offering a villainous smirk seemingly lifted from films, much to the circle’s laughter surrounding him. Amid the laughter, Pei Yan approached Radu, rubbing his hair, continuing to humiliate sarcastically, "What qualifications do you have now to seek reconciliation with me?"

"I, I, this...." Billbom was speechless once more. Everyone knew reconciliation was just a soft way to frame surrender, yet Pei Yan planned not to grant the Vlad Clan this last semblance of modesty.

"Incoherent, preposterous, they show no sincerity! Might as well eliminate him directly!" Wang Wenze, fiddling with models he got from Jiang Feiyang, scoffed as he glanced at Billbom, proposing with a cold snort.
