The training yard of Arkanis Academy was still a disaster.

Two days had passed since Kael had started training with both his summons at the same time.

Two days.

And the balance sheet was concerning.

Twelve training dummies destroyed.

Three cracked walls.

One observation tower partially tilted.

One teacher who had requested vacation.

And a distant mountain that, according to some students, now had a "better view."

Kael observed the enormous destroyed field while letting out a long sigh.

"I think we’re getting worse..."

A few meters away, Professor Rowan was flipping through a thick notebook.

"Let’s see...

Day one: one mountain.

Day two: twelve dummies.

..."

"Actually, yes. We’re getting worse."

Kael dropped his head.

"Sorry..."

"Stop apologizing."

The professor closed the notebook.

"If apologies could repair buildings, architects would be out of work."

Kael didn’t know what to respond.

At that moment, Aurelion appeared walking calmly, a bag of sweet bread under his arm.

"Good morning."

Behind him came Darius.

With the same serious expression as always.

"They’re not good."

He immediately replied.

"They made us come early to help the walking disaster."

Kael raised an eyebrow.

"Thanks for the moral support."

"That wasn’t support.

That was a description."

Aurelion let out a laugh.

"Come on, Darius.

Don’t be so harsh.

The kid at least destroys things with good intentions."

"That doesn’t make anything better."

"But it improves the atmosphere."

Darius sighed.

"You’re insufferable."

"I know.

And that’s why I get invited everywhere."

---

A few minutes later, Seraphina appeared.

She wore the academy uniform as always.

She carried a small silver cooler in her hands.

Kael smiled.

"Good morning."

"Good morning."

Seraphina opened the cooler.

Inside were several perfectly preserved fish fillets.

The Little Fat King, who was sleeping on Kael’s head, slowly opened one eye.

His ears began to move.

"Meow..."

Seraphina lifted one of the fish.

"It’s Glacial Tide-Eater.

I got it yesterday."

The cat immediately jumped toward her.

With an elegance unbecoming of someone so fat.

He landed in front of the fish.

And began devouring it with absolute happiness.

Kael shook his head.

"You’re too easy to buy."

Meanwhile...

Sir Dogerino watched the whole scene.

He wagged his tail.

Waiting his turn.

Seraphina remained for a few seconds looking at him.

Then she took out another bag.

Premium kibble.

She carefully placed it in front of the little knight.

Sir Dogerino gave a small excited bark.

"Woof!"

And he began eating with such happiness that he seemed to have completely forgotten his noble lineage.

Kael smiled.

"I insist...

He behaves too much like a dog."

"Woof!"

Sir Dogerino responded without stopping eating.

Aurelion burst out laughing.

"You’re not helping your argument, friend."

The Fat King watched the dog with evident superiority.

Then he kept eating his fish.

As if saying:

"At least I have standards."

---

When they both finished eating, Aurelion clapped his hands.

"Alright.

Time to work."

He picked up a fallen branch from the ground.

And began drawing on the dirt.

Three circles.

One arrow.

Several lines.

Kael watched, confused.

"What are you doing?"

"Explaining why your training is going so badly."

Darius crossed his arms.

"And trust me...

There’s a lot to explain."

Kael made a face.

"Thanks for the confidence."

Aurelion ignored the comment.

He pointed at the first circle.

"This is you."

Then the second.

"The Fat King."

Finally the third.

"Sir Dogerino."

Then he connected the last two with a line.

"They don’t have a problem with each other."

Kael frowned.

"They don’t?"

"No."

He pointed at the Fat King.

"He does exactly what he wants."

Then at the dog.

"And he does exactly what you tell him."

Darius added:

"The problem is that you talk to them as if they were the same."

Kael blinked.

"..."

"I’ve never thought of it that way."

"It shows."

Darius immediately replied.

Aurelion continued.

"Think about this."

He pointed at the cat.

"Can you force him to do something?"

Kael looked at the Fat King.

The feline had already finished eating.

Now he was perfectly settled on a rock.

Sleeping again.

"..."

"No."

"Exactly."

Aurelion smiled.

"So stop trying."

Kael looked at him again.

"What?"

"Don’t give him detailed orders.

Give him a goal.

And let him find a way to achieve it."

Then he pointed at Sir Dogerino.

"With him, it’s the exact opposite.

He needs precise instructions.

Because if not...

He’ll remember that one time you told him goblins were like sticks.

And he’ll probably try to play with everything he sees."

Sir Dogerino lifted his head.

"Woof!"

Kael felt a pang of guilt.

"...That was my fault."

"Very much so."

Confirmed Darius.

---

Seraphina, who had been listening in silence, opened a small notebook.

Kael immediately recognized it.

It was the same one where she recorded absolutely everything.

"I also made some observations."

She said with total naturalness.

Kael swallowed.

"About me?"

"Yes."

"Since when?"

"Since the first training session."

Aurelion smiled, amused.

"That’s a little scary."

Seraphina flipped through several pages.

"When you fight with the Fat King...

You improvise.

He does too.

That works."

She turned another page.

"When you fight with Sir Dogerino...

You try to improvise.

He waits for orders.

That doesn’t work."

Another page.

"And when you try to direct both equally...

Neither understands exactly what you expect."

Kael remained silent for a few seconds.

Then he smiled with resignation.

"I guess I’m a worse trainer than I thought."

Darius snorted.

"At least you’ve accepted it now.

That’s progress."

---

Professor Rowan appeared again with several reinforced training dummies.

"Alright.

Let’s see if all that theory serves any purpose."

Five enormous dummies were placed in front of them.

Kael took a deep breath.

He looked first at the Fat King.

The cat opened just one eye.

"Just one thing.

Protect the group.

Nothing else."

The Fat King closed his eye again.

But he slowly moved his tail.

Kael decided to interpret that as a yes.

Then he turned to Sir Dogerino.

The little knight was already completely firm.

Waiting for instructions.

"Listen carefully.

Don’t attack.

Don’t run.

Don’t play.

Just stay next to me...

Until I say the word...

’Now.’"

Sir Dogerino raised a front paw in a perfect military salute.

"Woof!"

Kael took a deep breath.

He looked at his friends.

Aurelion smiled.

Seraphina watched attentively.

Even Darius seemed interested.

"Alright...

Let’s see if this time...

We don’t destroy half the academy."
