Others Summon, I Forge Beast Armor

Chapter 186: Soaring Armed Cobra

Luke heard Troy and Fiona talking, so he made a beeline for them, quickening his pace to catch up with them, and entered the next range of the dungeon where the entire team had gathered.

Rey was holding a futuristic watch with a holographic display, using it to scan a beast’s tentacle, seemingly trying to gather some information about it.

"Everyone, we need to be careful," she said. Some monsters gradually develop resistance to repeatedly used strategies and powers."

As she said so, she skimmed the holographic display, then stood up.

"This dungeon has an evolving ecosystem," Rey said and pointed at the monsters they had fought recently and finished, "This means that the monsters here are actively breeding or biologically evolving in the absence of a dungeon cleanup. That’s why this monster we fought has evolved from ordinary tentacle beasts to advanced tentacle beasts."

When wearing the Molten Triceratops Mask, Luke’s field of vision is even wider than what Rey sees through her sci-fi watch.

In addition, Luke can gather more clues by looking around while wearing the mask.

However, he wasn’t wearing the Molten Triceratops Mask at the time because he wasn’t testing it.

Its time would come when he upgrades it to Second Class.

Now, equipped with the Second Class Hell Ape Gauntlet and Imperial River Centaur Chestplate, Luke must fight alone with each to truly grasp the power of the beast armor.

Glancing at his Second Class Hell Ape Gauntlet, Luke decided he wouldn’t need it again today, so he stowed it away and kept the Imperial River Centaur Chestplate.

This chestplate caught the attention of Troy and his squad.

It looked like a biomagical emblem on Luke’s chest; of course, it also resembled the masterpiece of some alien creature, exuding an otherworldly aura.

It enhanced his physique.

At the same time, his chest became more muscular, his spine straighter, his ribs sharply defined and sensually beautiful, and his waist slender and elongated.

With a defense rating as high as 200,000%, even when the threat was far off, Luke couldn’t ignore the constant defensive alerts emanating from the chest plate!

"This is truly unbelievable..." Luke said. "I must tell you, there’s a nest in this dungeon, so you must be prepared for a resilient battle against an endless stream of monsters. Remember, the goal of clearing the lair is to defeat the nest queen—otherwise, monsters will keep pouring in forever"

"And who made you the leader of this group?" Fiona asked.

Troy took her hand and interjected, "As much as I’d love to sneak a punch into that young face of his, I have to admit we’ll have to listen to him. His armor is extraordinary; he even healed one of my wounds in a matter of seconds."

"All right, lead the way, Kingsley," Fiona said seconds later.

Luke nodded and took the lead, with Drew right behind him.

Drew was eager to get a closer look at that chest plate and was following Luke like a penguin, since Drew was in a wheelchair and shifted position every few seconds.

After following Luke for a minute, Drew said, "So, Luke Kingsley, I’d like to ask if you’ve joined any guilds? If not, would you consider joining ours? To be honest, it’s not for the recruitment bonus. The Victorian Guild definitely needs you."

Luke cannot say he didn’t see this coming.

Whenever you showcase your talents in front of someone with the authority to recruit you, receiving a guild invitation is a common occurrence.

Drew, a Silver-rank Hunter—though he might not look the part—was no different from those recruiters.

He was inviting Luke to join one of the most powerful guilds on the planet.

However, after Troy explained everything about the Victorian Guild and the Obsidian Order to Luke, accepting this invitation might just be the most foolish decision of his life.

"I’m familiar with some guilds, like my family’s Ivory Guild," Luke said "I’d like to ask: why do you think I should choose the Victorian Guild?"

"I must admit, my recommendation was made without considering you, solely focusing on my enthusiasm for your talents and the achievements you could bring within the Victorian Guild," Drew replied. "However, it is still a compelling proposal. The Ivory and Victoria Guilds are both top-tier guilds, but our guild has consistently proven that we produce stronger summoners/hunters."

"On average?" Luke said. "No. The Victorian Guild occasionally catches lightning in a bottle with brilliant summoners, while the Ivory Guild excels at consistently nurturing average, reliable ones. Which do you think is better? Sometimes I prefer predictability, but I can’t stand mediocrity—which is why I wouldn’t choose either."

Slightly disappointed, Drew sighed, sat back in his wheelchair, and temporarily felt exhausted from trying to keep up with Luke’s pace.

When Luke noticed his pause, he stopped, glanced back, and then looked ahead at the road.

He walked faster because he sensed some monsters ahead, but that didn’t mean he would disregard a disabled person.

Luke smiled and said, "Please show us those adaptive abilities you mentioned earlier. Use ’Echo’ to take out these monsters."

Hearing this, Drew’s sister, Rey, frowned and said, "Brother, you don’t have to—" but Drew interrupted her.

"Sister Rey, let me handle this."

Luke watched with a mixture of curiosity and fear, worried about what would happen if something happened to the disabled person

Luke watched with curiosity and a bit of fear about what might happen to a crippled person, simultaneously, monsters were coming from the other end of the hallway.

Grrr!

The approaching monsters included moss crocodiles and thorn frogs, deadly Gamma-class creatures.

Meanwhile, Drew gritted his teeth, focused, and unfastened the straps that secured his vegetable legs to the wheelchair.

Then his eyes glowed, and soon, his legs transformed, becoming reptilian.

His pupils also became like those of a snake, and as his head stretched, his body transformed as well.

"Echo!" he screamed. "Soaring Armed Cobra!"
