Others Summon, I Forge Beast Armor
Chapter 184: Extra Chap— Troy Tesla
Luke kept killing the monsters that appeared, and after witnessing his power multiple times, Troy finally accepted Luke’s strength.
Maybe Luke was misjudged during his awakening, because even though he didn’t have a traditional beast, his beast armor was clearly extraordinary.
Troy now understands why the president wanted him to marry his daughter.
But then he wondered if Luke and Scarlett Trump were really dating or if it was just a family-arranged engagement.
Troy asked, "Hey, Kingsley, how long have you been dating the president’s daughter?"
"A few months. Why do you ask?" Luke replied.
"Well, you know, have you two really started doing the things couples do? Like dating and spending time together?"
Luke thought about it and replied with a laugh, "If going into dungeons, climbing a pentegate, and exploring origin realms counts as romantic, then that’s pretty much my story with Scarlett."
Troy lifted his brows, surprised by the adventures behind what seemed to be a platonic engagement.
"So what is your relationship like?" he asked. "Does Scarlett act like a lady in front of you? Do you really love her?"
"Scarlett is just Scarlett," Luke answered. "I don’t need her to act a certain way just because she’s a girl. She’s strong, independent, and has her own ambitions. As for love, I won’t make a commitment to something so important just to meet others’ expectations, but I respect her, care for her, and am willing to get to know her better as we spend more time together. If we establish a relationship, I will take it seriously."
Then Luke said, "Senior Troy, if you weren’t troubled, you wouldn’t be asking so many questions, right? Is there a problem with your relationship?"
"Yeah, It’s Fiona," Troy replied. "We’ve been together since freshman year and have been through a lot, which is why I don’t know how to end this relationship."
Luke asked why he wanted to end it, and Troy said, "Because I feel like she’s holding me back. Since we started dating, I’ve put a lot of effort into helping her. Whenever she needed something, I provided it; whenever she wanted to make progress, I helped her find opportunities. I spent so much time and energy supporting her that I didn’t even consider what I needed.
"Look at her now, she’s made quite a bit of progress and is getting closer to her goals, but what about me? I’m still a bronze-level hunter. I helped her gain the resources and opportunities to progress, but I haven’t even made the expected progress myself.
"I don’t hate her, that’s the problem. She’s been my girlfriend for many years, and I still care about her, but lately, I’ve been wondering if being with her was the right decision."
Luke listened to Troy’s complaints, debating if it was a case of a simp or if a domineering woman was leading the man, but whatever it was, it wasn’t his problem.
In his freshman year, Luke read the Montclair Academy yearbook three times, thinking that the seniors had found their direction in life and had the best relationships, so he never thought that they would be troubled by this.
But there was one thing he didn’t understand: Troy seemed like a person who took action when facing problems, so why did he only complain and not take back his future?
"If you’re not happy with this relationship, why not just end it?" Luke asked.
But Troy smiled bitterly and replied, "It’s not that simple, Kingsley. I’m an orphan, and the Victorian Guild is the umbrella that protects me. Fiona’s mother is an elder in the guild, so if I break up with her, I might lose more than just a girlfriend."
"There are so many guilds, and many others," Luke challenged. "They welcome talented young people. With your Greater-grade summoner talent, switching guilds shouldn’t be difficult. "
"You don’t understand. The Victorian Guild belongs to the Obsidian Order, and the Obsidian Order is much more closed off than the Silver Order and the Golden Order. You can’t switch affiliations whenever you want, they don’t welcome that. And I have no family backing me, no influential relatives, and no social leverage. What I have is my Greater-tier Summoner talent and my engagement to Fiona."
Luke noticed Troy clenching his fists and lowering his head, Troy gritting his teeth and muttering, "Tyrants and dictators..."
Luke pretended not to hear.
Troy’s caution was not foolish, as what he said about the Obsidian Order was true.
Unlike the Silver and Golden Orders, the Obsidian Order places great importance on alliances, brotherhood, and loyalty to its people.
Once you join them, you must remain loyal; leaving is not just about finding another guild, as some members will see it as becoming eternal enemies.
For Troy, who has no family background or influence, offending the entire tradition is very risky, so whether he likes it or not, he must stay under the protection of the Victorian Guild, which means he is still entangled with Fiona forever.
But Luke wasn’t sure that the Obsidian Order was evil, because there is always some good within evil.
The same organization that punishes disloyalty may also fiercely protect its members.
When the apocalypse returns, they will save their own organization first, then other humans.
Was this evil, or extreme loyalty? It depended on which side you were on.
Luke didn’t want to judge the situation between Troy and Fiona; maybe Fiona had saved Troy’s life multiple times, and he did not mention it.
So he said, "I believe you will eventually find the right way to do it."
Then he turned around and continued walking, but after a few steps, he remembered he wanted to ask about the Obsidian Order.
"Senior Troy, do you know a vampire summon named Lucius?" Luke asked, hoping he would get a different answer this time compared to Lin Moon’s answer.
Fortunately...
Troy’s face went pale with shock.
"Lower your voice!" he said, looking around in alarm.
Making sure no one could hear, he grabbed Luke’s arm and asked, "Where did you hear that name?"
