Others Summon, I Forge Beast Armor
Chapter 178: Upgrading My Beast Armor Class Before Requesting A Dungeon
Luke checked his system data and found that Hell Ape Gauntlet had been renamed "Second Class Hell Ape Gauntlet"
This confused him, because he thought "Hell Ape Gauntlet" would be completely renamed, like becoming "Demon Ape Gauntlet" or something like that.
After all, wasn’t that how the system explained "Second Class Beast Armor Blueprints"?
〖Second Class Beast Armor Blueprints: Upgrades Third-Class Beast Armor, though the upgrade may not reach the next evolutionary threshold.〗
"Oh, I see. It’s like increasing your beast’s Fortitude before the species change is actually achieved. So, does this mean a First Class Beast Armor Blueprint will guarantee that ’Hell Ape Gauntlet’ will become something else?" Luke said thoughtfully
"Yes, but don’t forget that all your beast armor is different," Amigo answered. "Some will only increase in Fortitude, some will evolve immediately, and some may evolve twice."
After Amigo’s reminder, Luke began to mentally calculate which armor may evolve and which he should upgrade tomorrow and the day after.
Everything depended on importance.
Today it was Hell Ape Gauntlet, tomorrow it would be the Bluespine Centaur Chestplate, and the day after it would be the Molten Triceratops Mask.
Today, Luke summoned the Second Class Hell Ape Gauntlet.
WHOOSH!
Like a plague, the Second Class Hell Ape Gauntlet, dark and red, contaminated Luke’s arm.
Then, black pieces of both metal and hot stone began to play like puzzle pieces, crawling across his fingers, wrapping his wrist and even extending all the way to his elbow.
Red light peeked in the gaps between the pieces, exhaling black vapour.
Meanwhile, sharp protrusions made the gauntlet look particularly fierce!
Then, such writhing deformation stopped, and Luke clenched his fist.
CRACK!
Under this pressure, the air trembled.
Deadlier in appearance was the Second Class Hell Ape Gauntlet, straight from a better workshop in hell.
At this armored fist, Luke was satisfied with the upgrade of the Hell Ape Gauntlet, knowing it is no longer the same as before.
*********
The next day, Luke found himself standing in front of the Bureau’s headquarters.
The air was fresh and warm, and the sky was gray. A gentle breeze ruffled his black hair, and a refreshing breeze brushed against his face.
This refreshing feeling on his face... was it because he wasn’t wearing the Molten Triceratops mask?
Luke clenched his fist and chuckled. It must be.
He used to wear the Molten Triceratops mask whenever he appeared in public to conceal his identity and protect himself.
In a place like the Bureau’s headquarters, wearing a mask should be mandatory, but Luke had no reason to wear one to hide his identity again.
He was no longer an exile, and he was a nobleman now, so he had no reason to hide his identity anymore.
This means he would no longer be prejudiced, and the Bureau cannot arrest him arbitrarily again.
Of course, this didn’t mean that those who wanted him dead, like his aunt Roselyn and half-brother Adrian, would suddenly abandon their plans. Social security may protect him from certain injustices, but it cannot stop everyone who wanted to kill him.
Luke took a deep breath, entered the headquarters, and requested a meeting with the Bureau’s Comptroller.
He came here in search of a dungeon where he could test his Second Class Hell Ape Gauntlet.
The academy’s trials were over, and his comprehensive index had expired. Therefore, he could no longer use the comprehensive index to find a dungeon, so he must use the old method to find a dungeon.
The old method is through the Bureau or a guild.
Because Luke didn’t want to trespass into a dungeon again, lest he offend the Bureau—and the Warden.
Luke entered the Bureau headquarters, and the scene was great.
Officers and Soldier Ants were everywhere in the camp, some carrying weapons and things of importance.
Luke didn’t linger where he wasn’t invited, thus, walked to his destination. He was unaware that someone had seen him from an upstairs window.
The person recognized his face, turned, and went downstairs.
Luke continued to the Comptroller’s office, noticing many people staring at him along the way. Because he was too handsome, or because of what happened during his last visit to the Bureau?
It didn’t matter, so he reached the office and met a receptionist desk because, in the Bureau, visitors cannot see the Comptroller. They must go through a receptionist to convey their requests.
"Hello, having a pleasant day? What can I do for you?" The receptionist greeted with a smile.
"I’m looking for a dungeon. Preferably a Gamma-grade dungeon. If I have to go to Skeleton Town, so be it."
The receptionist asked, "Okay, may I see your hunter ID?"
"Uh, I haven’t registered as a hunter yet. I’m still studying at the academy." Luke said and gave her his student ID instead of hunter ID.
The receptionist took the ID, looking at him with disappointment, as if he were a poor boy.
Even though she confirmed that he was a student, it did not change the fact that he was unqualified.
"You seem a little hesitant? Can’t students hunt?" Luke said.
The receptionist returned his student ID, replying, "Yes, students can hunt. But only Beta-level dungeons. If I’m going to assign you a dungeon, it must be Beta-grade, and you must team up with another party or guild assigned to the same dungeon."
What—?
Luke was very unhappy because it was inconvenient.
Did this woman know he had the Heavenly Immortal Tortoise that can help him find and enter any dungeon at will?
So he wasn’t here because he had no other choice but to follow the rules and build a good reputation.
But following the rules was more troublesome than he had imagined.
But just as Luke was being refused entry to the Gamma-grade dungeon, the person who saw him through the window arrived.
The receptionist was surprised to see the person, and the floor trembled slightly when he stepped inside.
The man said in a deep voice, "Angela, please arrange a Gamma-grade dungeon for him. A guild has already reserved one; have them make room for an academy student."
"Yes, Warden!" The receptionist saluted and obtained the coordinates of the Gamma-grade dungeon that was reserved and gave it to Luke.
Luke took the coordinates and said, "Thank you, everyone. I’ll take my leave now."
But just as he was about to leave, the Warden grabbed his collar, immobilizing him.
"Don’t walk so fast, you little devil."
