Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights

Chapter 378 Saul's Influence

They were a family of invincibles. As long as they had the advantage of points or were just a bit lower, they would win any battle.

Lady Aina herself had one of the most powerful banes. Once activated, every action would become a mistake. Endless errors. How could you fight when your body always did the wrong thing or your skills ended up hitting somewhere else?

Or your summon slipped for no reason at a critical attack. Around Aina, nothing could go as planned.

She was a nightmare, a quiet nightmare that had been awakened.

Miriam lifted up her head and saw Aina applying makeup.

Godfrey teleported over to paradise the next day. He stood outside his parents’ home with Toria by his side.

Lots of people walking by glanced at him and whispered to themselves. Godfrey looked at them from the corner of his right eye.

“He’s ungrateful. After all the cohort did for him, he just left and never returned.” one girl said to her mother as they walked past.

Toria turned, glaring at the girl. She quickened her steps.

“There’s no need to be upset. The people here are not bad, and she’s right. I did leave the cohort that had sacrificed a lot for me but there are justifiable reasons behind my actions that they don’t know about.” Godfrey looked at Toria.

“You have the privilege of removing your armour. You should probably allow them to see your face.”

Toria removed her helmet.

“You look good with white hair.” Godfrey said.

Toria smiled softly. “Are you going to do every other thing other than step through that door? You’re afraid.”

Godfrey exhaled. “You would be too if she were your mother.”

Toria frowned. What?

Godfrey proceeded, he didn’t want more questions or lose the courage he had gathered.

He rang the doorbell and Toria looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “Can’t you just teleport?”

“I want to surprise them.”

Toria’s raised eyebrow went higher. “Appearing inside is a better surprise.”

At that moment, the door swung open, revealing Ronald, who was tying a towel. His blue eyes brightened at the sight of his son.

“This is a pleasant surprise.” Ronald said as he stepped aside for his son and his knight to walk in.

As Toria went past him, he squinted. “V… Toria?”

She looked at him and nodded. “It’s me.”

Ronald shot a questioning glance at Godfrey. He was quite amazed though. To do something like this, his summon must be really unique.

As a father, he felt proud.

“Where’s mom?”

“She’s at the colosseum at the Vagabond camp.”

“What? Colosseum?”

Ronald nodded. “Saul’s summon brought an entire colosseum from a different place through a gate and placed it at the camp. He doesn’t hide his might. Currently, the cohort is going through a tournament where the best will receive Saul’s demigod essence.”

Ronald explained. “His Black Knights and Celestial Champion are all powerful Titled Gods held back by the current upper limit. Saul is a slave to power, and what he’s doing has caused quite a lot of deaths in the cohort but has also strengthened the others. Gradually, they’ve lost the sense of camaraderie, of friendship that isn’t based on strength. Their class, elite, and regularity didn’t affect their relationship as much as it does now. And your mother is there, attending to those who get injured.”

Godfrey frowned. “She’s there on her own?”

“Of course not. My summon is with her but no one in their right mind in paradise would dare lay a finger on her. He would be torn apart by the people even before you get there.”

Ronald entwined his fingers.

“Don’t worry about your mother. You should be more concerned about Saul and how we can make her leave the cohort. He’s becoming some kind of invincible god, the people already revere him. Vagabond captains always had influence but this is different.”

His tone was grave.

“I know you didn’t come for this but we have to convince your mother to leave before Saul does something and we can’t get her out.”

“Lucy mentioned something like this but I forgot.” Godfrey’s eyes narrowed. Why would Gabriel allow this? One man was taking over what he had built or was Saul one of Cain’s clones?

He wasn’t sure but Cain wanted paradise to reflect peace and Saul would soon crush that notion and build a faction based on strength where he was seen as a god.

Like always, it was hard to read Cain. He might be watching for the fun of it. At the end of the day, he wasn’t really affected.

“Let’s go to the camp.” Godfrey rose to his feet. That tournament would end. It didn’t matter if they liked it or not, those knights were his and he did not agree to giving out their essence.

Gabriel stood on the highest floor of the watchtower, his arms crossed. He gazed at Paradise City with a placid expression.

With a soft grunt, he turned his head to the chessboard on a table behind him.

He walked over to the chair beside it and sat down. He might be the only Monarch Tier being on earth currently but he was quickly rising as his other self learned and molded High Elvin Bowmasters and knights, unbeknownst to the Elvin kind.

Fortunately for them, he had the pleasure of doing anything other than learning their skills, for now.

Gabriel made a move and brought down the black knight. His eyes gleamed.

“Time is coming for our first clash, my future general. I look forward to you killing me.” He smiled softly, then grinned so wide all his teeth were exposed.

“If it goes as planned and kills me, that will be to his benefit as the pain I’ve prepared will be all he will face but if he doesn’t, he’ll face worse.”

Gabriel’s eyes flickered. Once that happened, paradise would be exposed. Now that would be another big problem that could end in a great disaster.

But they should rest easy for now, these plans would only start once the Ruination was over. Godfrey had to become a Monarch Tier, a powerful one to handle him.

‘Oh…’

Gabriel’s eyes gleamed and he rose to his feet. He could see Godfrey had appeared at the camp. His eyes went to Saul, another strong man, and his lips curled upwards.

‘This… will be interesting.’
